The instructions said to use front loading washing machine, which I don't own one. But I have front loading dryer at home. So, here I am washing my laundry with the rest of neighbors without laundry facility on the premises. It was not bad dealing with shop keepers. I got my change and instructions on which machine to use to be efficient. The lady even loaded my stuff on a cart and pushed to the machine. I put my fragrance-free detergent (I'm allergic to fragrant of any sort) in the dispenser. That thing was in need of deep cleaning. Some softeners were hardened on the lid. Somehow, my laundry came out with fragrance. I hung around the machine as it stopped right on schedule. Then, I transferred it to a dryer. Not that far. I put enough coins to give me 30 minutes of drying time in low setting. I patiently waited for 30 minutes and it still had 8 minutes to go. Then, I started to get anxious. I know the moment I open it; the time will drop to 1 minute. But I didn't care. I'm ready to go home. Because this place is getting ridiculous. A couple of employees were cleaning the lint off of dryer vents. One was vacuuming screens and one was sweeping lint. None of them wore masks. It's not about catching anything but it's to protect their lungs from breathing in dust. I even sneezed a few times while waiting. Then, I heard a loud post nasal drip suction sound. I looked up, yuk. The employee spit into the trash bin like it was her sputum. That's it. I'm out of here. I'll dry it the rest of the way in my hot car.

There's no attendant at night and they make you buy a card to access the stuff, and then all kinds of messed up stuff happened with the machine and caused us to have to spend literally about $21 instead of $11. If you take too long with your transaction then the machine will literally eat your money and keep it. And there is no way of getting it back unless there's an attendant here. Restrooms are always up to par. I've never seen lingering lint, nor trash sitting around. This surprised me as it is a laundromat that quickly accumulates lent/dust. Second, the customer service is very well respectful and rounded. I was honestly a little lost the very first time coming in as I brought a bag of quarters. The facility is conveniently ran off of a card system, meaning, you add your needed amount directly onto a Laundry card from your debit/credit card. This made me feel safe and more aware of what was being spent. My very first visit someone walked me through every step to ensure I fully understood what I was doing. This was a nice start off. I had a small issue previously, called the facility at 06:00AM (when I noticed the issue), and the owner respectfully answered. I was calling to leave a message due to the early call, but to my surprise, the owner answered and handled my minor issue immediately. Nice and friendly service. I always feel welcomed and safe. Hood Street Laundromat is in an older building with heavy duty commercial washers. I didn't count the washers but there were over 20 dryers and there was not one "out of order" sign on any of them. The floors, folding tables, and machines were clean. There is an attendant on duty (for assistance and laundry drop off). There's plenty of parking around the building and chairs inside and outside. I would recommend and use this laundromat again.
