I received a few quotes with varying prices and couldn't decide, therefore I also did a Google search of reviews of the various places to help me make my decision of where to take my vehicle. GP, which is 45 mins away from my home, and an hour in traffic from my work, quoted me a flat rate with parts and labor included, which was $20 more than a shop in my neighborhood. The removal and install was fast, and the gentleman was very professional. My bill was actually $20 more than the flat rate quoted. Therefore, I ended up paying $40 more than I would have paid had I gone to a local shop, 1hour 45 mins driving, and a 1/4 tank of gas. Pricey lesson learned. However, I'm grateful that my windshield is fixed before winter. I recommend this location for folks who live in the area. It's clean with a comfortable waiting room. Also, if you're low in cash, make sure you know that "flat rate" doesn't mean the same to everyone. Use the Project tool to receive quotes, etc, but do extra homework and know exactly how much a service will cost you in exact pricing, considering your travel (gas) expenses, and time when comparing.

After a rock left a sizeable pit in my windshield I drove 30 miles to give Safelite a try. After…read morethe repair the pit was still there and felt sharp to the touch. I went back inside the store and was brushed off with them stating it was sealed properly. I showed the pit to another glass company and was told their company would have filled the pit. I finally drove 60 miles to the Flint Mi location where the tech filled the pit in minutes and apologized for the previous repair stating it doesn't reflect Safelite's quality standard. I'm quite displeased with Safelite's customer service as well. They're closed on Saturday and all locations have unlisted local phone numbers. The online site gives few options. When I did report my issue on Monday, I basically got a "so, what do you want us to do about it." Soo, I don't plan on my next repair being Safelite.
