2 years ago I tried to buy a wood stove installed and ended up with just a chimney. I had to go to Canadian tire to buy a stove and extensions and install the stove myself. this past weekend I bought a charcoal grill. Sales guy said i might have it this week. They're in the warehouse. when i call about delivery, they say they will call back but i haven't heard from them. this company is a huge disappointment. My husband bought me a Large, Big Green Egg for Christmas (yes'm lucky me!) As you might expect, it arrives in a few VERY heavy pieces. So of course the picture of it was under the tree and the real thing was next door. A week after Christmas my husband and son went to get the pieces and we opened them to find the largest piece, the main cooking vessel itself, had a crack :( The guys knew tey had been very diligent in both moves and it was not bumped at all so must've happened in shipping. When my husband called Ultimate they said they'd investigate and get back to us - to our surprise they did and told us to bring it in and they would exchange it. I was expecting a large or prolonged argument but no - professional customer service like this is why we will be buying our BBQ this summer from them - heard Webber is one of the best. read more

We love the look of the stove and really enjoy it when it's working. However, it does not work about half of the time and we need to have it serviced every few months. We can wait up to several weeks to get the service and it is usually quite expensive. The gentleman that comes to service is very good but the stove never stays working for more than 2 months at a time which is very inconvenient in the colder months. We are disappointed at the cost and the lack of being able to heat with it so much of the year when needed. read more

Brutal service. I called this company to ask some questions about replacing my oil furnace. They took my name and said a sales person would call me back. Nobody called me for a week. After the week, I called and asked to speak with the owner. I could not speak with him as he was in a meeting, but the receptionist took my complaint and said this was not typical service at all and that someone would call me right away. Again, 3 days went by before someone called and I have not heard from the owner. Every other company in the same industry called back and I had quotes the same day. This place pretends to be cream of the crop, but really they are delusional in thinking they are the best. Finally, a sales guy (Chris) called me and when I mentioned the poor service, he simply said "that's fine, call somewhere else, we're busy". Thanks sales guy, I will take your advice. read more

I filed a complaint with the BBB about this company. Funny thing is, when I got their response from the BBB, their credibility got worse. I bought a new house and their propane tank was on my property. My RE called to have it removed and I called to have it removed a few days later. Anyhow, rather than get into my original complaint, I would like to inform everyone (I printed off their rebuttal as proof) that if you by a house and their tank is one the property and you would like them to remove it, then it is YOU who will be charged a restocking fee and a pick up fee even though you are not under contract as a lessee with them. And how much are those fees? Well, good question since they don't have a contract with you they can make that amount anything they want. I have this story going into CBC Marketplace and I sincerely how they investigate this story. read more

Let me start by saying that I have never written a review online and it takes a lot to have me say that a business has poor customer service. I have been to this store twice looking for a quote for a new pellet stove and both times I was under the impression that I was interrupting their day. I have been waiting for a phone call with a quote that simply has not arrived. Terrible customer service just as the other review stated. You are not worth their time. That is how you will feel if you have an opportunity to be graced by their presence. I will be buying a new home heating solution but it will not be from them. read more

Not a fan! Stopped in early July. Was met by a polite, friendly, charismatic salesperson. I felt she 'got me'. Ha! Ha! Ha! She sure got my money! Now I have an insert that is NOT LEVEL, that is sitting on a wooden shim in an attempt to level it, a lot of regret and 6 grand in debt! I should have shopped around. Boy, did I ever learn a lesson! Bought a pellet stove from ultimate home comfort three years ago, last year I was having problems with stove starting, after many discussion with Parts/Service Department found out that the gate that allows pellets to fall into stove was not open wide enough. While I was waiting for Parts (Heating Element) I got to talking with one of their staff and found out that they do not recommend the installation of a Pellet Stove in a garage, it would have been nice to be aware of this prior to purchasing the stove, the sale staff knew from the start that the stove was going to be in the garage at at no time did she mentioned that they do not recommend the installation of a pellet stove in a garage and the same applies to the service technician that intalled the stove. read more

Called on weekend to ask if a gasket door kit available. First Lady answers and tells me the service department is busy and took my number and said I would get a call back. Waited, no call back so I called again. Lady answers understood my plight but could not help as she is at home and does not know if the part I am looking for is in the store. And no one in the store answers phone. Now how stupid is that! So that's service department is closed on weekends and I guess the first lady does not know that. So only the service people are able to tell you what's available in the store not the other store employees, and since they are not there on weekends too bad. I was told I can take a drive there if in the area to see if the part I want is in the store. Well I live in St. Margrets bay and by the sounds of it. You can't speak to a person in the store which is open today to ask a question. Like I said how #$@&*ing stupid is that. read more

We had Ultimate install a heat pump in our home. They installed it in an inappropriate area above kitchen cabinets, and not only does it not work properly (it cycles on and off constantly and provides negligable heat) because of a complete lack of air flow in its location, but it has also caused extensive black mold beneath it, in the wall and inside my kitchen cabinets. We have been told by numerous experts since then that it never should have been installed there. When we tried to address this with them, we began a 6-month-long saga of calling them and emailing them, receiving assurances that someone would return our calls, and NO ONE ever did. Finally we went into the showroom to complain and received further assurances someone would contact us, which they did not. Finally we did hear back about a quote to move the existing heat pump and install a second one, but when we wanted to go ahead with this, there were further delays in communication so we got fed up and went to another company. Of course they confirmed that it was completely negligent and incompetent for the heat pump to have been installed in that location. I would like everyone who reads this to know that the quote we got from the second company was fully $4000 dollars cheaper than the quote from Ultimate, and they sent someone to our house within 1 week. Ultimate failed to send anyone despite us pestering them for SEVEN MONTHS. I do not recommend this company. I've never received such poor customer service. read more
