We got a beautiful kitchen and brand new tile floors from Justin's and Jesus's team. We met with Justin for an estimate and he had great ideas on how to transform our old kitchen from the 80s. Then, he came out with Jesus, his project manager, for a second visit. They complemented each other really well in terms of the specifics of the design, what everything would look like, and what needed to be done. They gave us an accurate timeline of 3-4 weeks. Let me tell you, they were basically working the entire time (even on a Saturday)! Jesus was very responsive to our questions and concerns throughout the process. I would highly recommend not taking a passive role during the renovation/remodel and actually being there. Since their team is big, there are details that the crew might need to ask about or that you need to bring up a few times. Everyone who worked on the house was friendly and receptive to our questions and preferences. After the project was completed, both Justin and Jesus let us know that they were just a phone call away if we needed anything or had any issues. Overall, I am just in love with the end product! They use NGY cabinets which seem to be a great quality with all of the must have features (dovetail, soft close, etc.). Can't wait to put the kitchen to use! read more

From the start UDC was what I had been searching for. Justin came out to walk the possible projects and even discussed contingencies. I greatly appreciated the detailed estimate for each project along with the opportunity to source my own materials for interior work. The project manager, Jesus was available at almost all hours for calls or FaceTime check ins to address any questions or concerns. Justin and his team are fantastic. Like many, I went through a dozen different contractors when I started this process and I was lucky to have waited since I found UDC at the very end. My patience was rewarded and our dream backyard was completed. While building a pool, we looked for a contractor that could come in and gut our entire backyard, install a retaining wall, columns, concrete, patio, BBQ island, and landscaping. Justin was genuinely one of the few people that did not make you feel rushed. Being completely transparent while offering valuable opinions and suggestions is something that is extremely appreciated and is lacking when talking to many contractors. He made sure to give me options that would not only be conservative to my pocketbook when asked but also made sure it kept within the design and function of the spaces. His team through every part of the project were well informed and sincerely looked like they enjoyed working with Justin which is great to see. So, I took my time posting this review, and for that my apologies. I guess my new backyard has been occupying my free time -wink-. Let me give you a little of the history as it pertains here, taking you back to when my wife and I decided (finally) to do something with our back yard...which at that time was nothing but a huge area, with some kind-of-alive grass and crap-load of rocks and mud. Great space with a ton of potential. It's important to note here that my wife and I had no real idea of that potential or what we really wanted to do with it, we just hated it in its current state, so we had lots of questions and were open and eager to get opinions as well. Meeting with many contractors, landscapers, etc., we pretty much knew we were choosing UDC the first day we met David. Aside from the fact that we both liked him, his personality and the way he communicated with us, he spent time listening to our thoughts, throwing in his suggestions, and then back and forth until he had quite literally helped us envision our new backyard. The spa up there, the pool over there, a fire pit and bench right here, a fountain right there outside your door, a BBQ grill area right over there, and what about a zen area that looks like this over on the other side of the yard there? Boom ...and done. As bids go, UDC's bid was not the lowest. But unlike the necessity for my wife and I to like the contractor, in this arena the cheapest bid was not our necessity. Trusting the contractor was, and after a few back and forths of pictures on design elements and pricing, we refinanced our house and UDC got our business. Before I get to the actual work, I have to make note here that our project evolved as it moved forward. David came up with some amazing ideas mid-stream, and we added a few of our own. His ability to think outside the box, and willingness to share his thoughts really helped us create one of the most amazingly comfortable and beautiful backyards I have ever seen, with some totally unique design elements like our fire pit and fore-fountain (see pics). Working with David and his UDC crew was what made a potentially stressful experiment a ton of fun. Now onto the work. First, my wife and I have come to love UDC's crew. Here is a shout out to not just one or two of them, but all of them. From day one, they were respectful, polite and fun to work with. They even put up with me, as being in the business of hiring contractors to work on apartment rental communities all the time, I can be somewhat O.C.D. picky. And they met me at every point. The quality of the work was as David had promised us. His men knew what they were doing, each and everyone of them, regardless of task. And if something did not come out right...they fixed it. Our back yard now is like another room of our house. That was David's advice as we were building it, and sure as beans, that has what it has become. Looking at the attached pictures its hard to imagine our backyard ever looked like it originally did. It's like our yard now was always there, it just needed to be carved out. Now, We spend more time in our backyard than we do in our bedroom (don't read into that). As the sun goes down, we heat up the spa, turn on the lights and spark up the main fire pit, the BBQ fire pit, the fountain fire pits (yes, there are more than one) and the two fire bowls alongside the fountain. With the colored lights from our pool and the sound of the water shears and spa overflow fountain, the ambiance is like nothing else we've experienced. We've been to some nice hotels through the years, but nothing compares to that pride of ownership as you enjoy the luxury and relaxation in the privacy of your own backyard. We are truly grateful for everything UDC and David have done for us, and especially grateful for making the process fun and not stressful. We enjoyed it so much, we are gearing up to do our kitchen and bathrooms with UDC next! The cover took a little bit longer than normal due to Covid, but once it was ready, it went up fast and has made our backyard into an extended living space. They were flexible as we could not afford everything we wanted to do in the backyard all at once, and gave us options so that we could get something started. Update : I am editing my review because they got back to me right away to clear up the misunderstanding. My review was not based on work, but the way they came off during my initial RFP. Isnt it sad that a company doesn't even take the time to hear you out on a project. I never once mentioned a date and justin emails me back saying "we are booked at this time" um I dont remember saying I needed this done any certain time, it could be done anytime, I just asked for a basic quote. Rude people. I am assuming he turned down this job simply because I used the term "cost effective" in my request . Well to me that just meant would pavers be better or would cement be a better bang for my buck. I am not cheap and this isnt even my house but I'll take my money elsewhere read more

UDC was the best find when I was in the process of purchasing my home. I was anxious to get the renovation process started as soon as I closed but had no idea what my ideas would cost and nobody referred to me on Homeadvisor would give me a quote until I owned the home. Justin at UDC was the only one to think outside the box and give me a rough estimate for my bathroom reno using pictures and ultimately once he got in to formalize the quote it was pretty dang close to the rough quote given online. In addition, he made the renovation process bearable and kept me updated along the way as various projects were being worked on and gave ETA's on completion. UDC finished way ahead of what the contract stipulated and that was greatly appreciated so that I could move in with most of the work completed. My chosen design style for the tiled shower was a lot more time consuming than originally planned but they still got it done the day of the move. What came through the most was that Justin really cares about his customers and them being happy with the work that is done on his watch. I look forward to working with him again in the future and would highly recommend working with Justin for any home improvement projects you may have. read more

Did the floors come out nicely...sure. But only after I was misled as to how exactly the job was going to be completed. It ended up costing me an additional $150 in materials because I was told they would prep the floor and they did not...so they compensated with thinset at MY cost. Then, all that additional thinset I paid for was found dried up and blocking my master bathroom toilet. So yeah, they can lay some really pretty tile...if you dont mind having your life in disarray for several weeks and potentially having to rip the floors back up to resolve their piss poor performance. I say do it yourself or literally hire ANYONE else. read more
