I'm so in love with this store! I'm glad I came across it, i needed some folklorico shoes and boots. This place has them and the prices are great. They didn't have the boots I need in my size however the store owner ordered them and had them at the store within 2 days. She was also very very helpful helping my kid pick the right shoe size. read more

Ultimate Dance Fashion Store - Uniforms Near Me - Downey, California

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel other parents should know about our experience. We took our daughter to Ultimate Dance Fashion Store to buy her first pair of ballet shoes. While trying them on, we told the employee (who appeared to be the owner or manager) that we thought she needed the next size up. Our daughter also wasn't completely sure about the fit. However, we were assured that the smaller size was the correct fit and were encouraged not to size up. Since this is a specialty dance store, we trusted her professional recommendation. Unfortunately, after wearing the shoes for her very first ballet class, my daughter's feet were hurting badly. We called the store hoping they could help us find a solution. Instead of showing any understanding, we were met with a rude attitude and were told, "You should have gotten a bigger size." That was especially frustrating because we originally wanted the bigger size and were talked out of it by the person helping us. I understand that stores have return policies, especially on worn dance shoes. This review isn't about expecting a free return--it's about the lack of customer service and accountability after we relied on the store's professional advice. We simply hoped they would work with us in some way, whether through an exchange, store credit, or another reasonable solution. Instead, we felt dismissed and blamed. I hope this review encourages the business to treat future customers with more respect and to stand behind the recommendations they give. read more

No return policy They do let you try things in store though Nothing major about the merchandise they have I felt like the options were not that great They didn't really attend me well since I brought my baby and the lady said she's kind of still too small for the stuff they had but they did have her size so I don't know what that was about read more

I went there and I bought a leotard and I saw that it looked like it was used so I tried to return it and they wouldn't let me return it please do not go to this place they are so rude I'm never going there again! read more

We are from out of the area. And, this is our to-go place when we visit the area. We are able to choose from the wide selection of leotards, for my daughter. The owner and daughter are very pleasant, and always helpful. They know exactly what sizes you need, and make sure you leave satisfied! read more

I have been coming to this store for a couple years now and have purchased a range of items including leotards, bags, jazz shoes, and Folklorico shoes. Could I find less expensive Folklorico shoes in LA somewhere? Maybe, but this store carries Colonial which is the specific brand my daughter prefers and it is conveniently in Downey, where I live. I am happy to support a small business and pay a little more for the convenience of being able to travel a minimal distance for my dance needs. Customer service has always been attentive and personable. read more

This place has been in business for 20+ years and is amazing. I went in today to buy leotards and tutus for my daughters and they were very kind and helpful. Definitely going back for more! read more

The lady is super nice and the selection of outfits and other dance items are great. I love buying my daughter's tights and bought her tutu as well. It's not very expensive and pretty reasonable prices. read more

This shop should reconsider their "no return" policy. It's just bad business. I think all customers should have an opportunity to return things within a certain window of time if item is not used or open, and with a receipt. However, that is not the case at this shop and I will not be returning. Additionally, the folklorico shoes that I bought for my daughter are overpriced and would advise people to go elsewhere, and get them for half the amount. read more

Amazing store with tons of selection. Came here for gymnastics clothes and the girls here are the BEST! read more

Ultimate Dance Fashion Store - New gymnastics gear - Uniforms Near Me - Downey, California

Wow I'm so happy I found a dance store near me. Take notes dance parents, a lot of things on Amazon are double the price than buying in stores like these! They have a wide selection of dance shoes, tutus, bows, dance bags, gymnastics outfits, and much more. The atmosphere is no pressure too which I love. I highly recommend this store!! We will continue to support small businesses and buy our dance stuff here. read more

I need shoes for my daughters wedding. I visited this store and was helped by Arlene. She was very helpful and sweet. I did not buy any shoes because they didn't have my size, but I would definitely recommend this store for their kindness and sincerity. read more

We moved to Downey a little over a year ago & I was looking for a dance store to purchase ballet attire for my daughter. I didn't want to order online because my child's size is petite & wanted her to try out the attire in person. I also wanted to support a small business. I'm so glad I found this place! They have a vast array of dance attire for all sizes! I was able to purchase everything from shoes to tights to a dance bag & multiple cute outfits for my daughter. Great prices & exceptional customer service as well. I'm so glad I am able to support a family owned small business in the area! Highly recommend! read more

I believe in supporting small businesses. This place has never let me down with any of my purchases that I've made for my daughter. They are quick, attentive and communicative. I know I'm paying a little more but the attention i get is well worth it. Keep up the good work! read more

My daughter dances and I'm always on the look out for cute dance stuff. Discount Dance is our usual go-to dance place, but they haven't had any new cute stuff in a while. Enter: Ultimate Dance This store came highly recommended by a friend who's daughter also dances. I don't live in or near Downey, but the thought of new dance stuff excited me.... So we made the trip. Biggest. Mistake. Ever. We got there at about 10:40. It was in a strip mall that looked a little run down... to say the least. The shop was closed...It had a "modified business hours" sign in the window stating the store wouldn't open til 11. Okay, okay, I can wait. I took my kiddos to grab some grub. We came back around 12:30 ish. STILL FREAKIN CLOSED! There was a phone number on the sign that said "please feel free to call if you have questions". Sooooo, I called. The girl who answered said her mom was out of town and she had to run some errands and was stuck in traffic. She would be in the shop in about 10 minutes. Okay, I'll wait. 10 minutes pass.... still no girl. 15 minutes later she shows up and opens the shop up. Actual review of the store: I was first shocked by the size of the store....think over-sized walk in closet. BUT what really got me was the quality/lack of quantity of items for sale. I'm not a snob or anything but some of the stuff in there was reaaaaaaally cheep looking.... like boarder line hooker-ish. They sold some shoes and some dance basics (solid color leotards, etc... dance bags and novelty items. They didn't have a big stock of anything....just a few random things here and there. Even though the girl (once she showed up) was super nice, I doubt I'd ever come here again. This is definitely our go to store for practice attire, fishnets and other dance stuff needed. Everyone is always so helpful and kind. I will definitely continue supporting this dance store. read more

Amazing family-owned business. Maria, the owner, is knowledgeable and attentive to your specific needs. They have a large selection of tights, shoes, leotards, skirts, etc. but never try to oversell products you don't want/need. They do a great job of getting inventory for you that they may not have at that moment. My favorite product right now is their own brand of tights. I run a studio and will only be using their tights from now on for my students. Great quality and very affordable. Overall, 5 stars for service and product quality. read more

We've been to Ultimate Dance twice to buy ballet shoes, leotards, and ballet shoes for my young daughter. The shop owner is friendly and super helpful. They have all the necessities and lots of cute accessories. I will definitely be sending my friends in need of dance wear here. The prices were better than what I found shopping around online for high quality dance apparel. read more

Great little boutique, selection was perfect. The 2 young ladies tending to the store were awesome help! We were looking for a Halloween ballerina costume for our daughter, so they helped us pick something inexpensive for a weekend use. Great stories about their own dancing experiences, we felt so comfortable with their knowledge and expertise. Thank you! read more

Single Dad walking in here hot knowing what to do or get... but thanks to MARIA I was educated and helped with getting my daughters set up for her first class. Made me relax from the moment I walked in. Love getting A1 service, direction and suggestions. Love it and cant wait to get her set for the rest of her dancing career. read more

I have been waiting for 25 min for this place to open and yet no one is here. It is very unprofessional to have a sign stating you open from 11am to 6pm yet there is no sign stating hours changed for today. It is a waste of time definitely taking my business else where ! I understand there's emergencies, but as a professional you always need to have back up to open ! read more

Prices on items were less than what the employee wanted to charge me. I was going to purchase an item that was tagged for $16.99 and when I told the Lady I was going to purchase it she said " the price is wrong its $26.99 not $16.99. needless to say I didn't purchase the item. I left as a very unhappy customer. read more

I had to find ballet shoes and I found my size. The clerk is really social and sweet. She was patient and kind. her service and products were on point. They offer everything in that boutique. So the store is supposed to be open at 11am...Its now 11:20 and it's closed. Thought I could drop by before I had to go into work. I called the store got a recoding that said to call a different number so I did. A Lady answered and said she was getting her taxes done and wouldn't be back for another 20 minutes! Are you serious? Very unprofessional....will never shop at this store again! I would not even give the store 1 star! read more

Amazing selection, GREAT service, and definitely helpful with everything! I recommend this shop! She was soooo nice and found the exact size and things we needing including the color. If I could, I would give this 10/5 stars! They also had multiple choices of the same things in different sizes and colors, so we could get multiple of the same size and color! It was the BEST experience and she deserves so many more shoppers. The store was open when we needed the stuff immediately, it was so easy and simple. She already somehow knew we were rushed, so she picked up her pace and went quick while getting the exact stuff we needed. SHOP THERE! read more

Owner appeared niece though merchandise she has on sale beware either it's defected or old. Dont purchase shoes she has on sale they are bad bad bad. I purchased tap choose from her that were on sale my daughter did not wear them but four times and they fell to pieces . When I called store she was so rude and would not exchange them . Her merchandise can be found in downtown LA at 1/3 of the price. Or just order through internet much better quality at less or equal price. read more

Excellent service and reasonable prices better prices than others stores and online I can't believe I found the tap shoes I needed

Ultimate Dance has everything and anything! It is a small store but can cater to your dance attire needs. The dance shoe selection is very great (great brands at WONDERFUL prices) as well as their basics (tights & leos). The great thing about it is that the owner is a dance mom herself, so she knows what your daughter/son needs without breaking your budget! The store carries the cutest leos and dance attire if you're looking for something for one person or many. I think it is also very convenient if you are looking for a very last minute costume. I love that it is very close to my home without having the hassle of going to LA or somewhere elsewhere that will dent my gas tank. So overall, It is a great store when looking for class attire and dance shoes when ever you need. THEY ALSO PERSONALLY MAKE THE CUTEST TUTUS! Come by store hours and I am sure you will get what you need! read more

What a great dance store! Ms. Maria is so attentive and knowledgeable! The store is well stocked and if not she can get it for you ASAP. She stocks quality. We buy everything dance related for our daughters here. Thank you Maria! read more

I DO NOT recommend this store. The owner has horrible Policies, does not train her employees well, and she is a liar. I Purchased a pair of shoes for my daughter's mix Latino class. I was unsure they were the proper shoes. But, the young lady that help me at the time of purchase told me I can exchange them if they were the incorrect shoes. I was not ready to buy at that time, but the sales rep push the shoes on me and promise that I can return them. When I took them back to return the owner would not exchange them. The owner stated that there was a policy of no return or exchanges after 10 days. I told her I was not aware of this Policy and the young lady that sold me the shoes assured me that I can exchange the shoes as long as that was not worn. The owner went on and pointed out on my receipt their return policy. I admit, I was wrong for not reading the receipt. But, I took it for granted and trusted the sales rep word. I kindly ask the owner if she would make an exception and exchange them for the correct shoes. The shoes that I purchased were not worn at all. But, the owner stated that she was not the owner and that it would come out of her pocket because the shoes were not in the system anymore. This made no sense to me but she went on stating that she was not the owner and she did not make the rules. Come to find out this lady is the owner of the store. She is a liar! And this is the reason why I'm writing this lengthy review. The owner was not helpful at all, she was rude, she lied, and could care less for her customer who has been given her business for over 2 years. First of all, The owner needs to train her employees to make sure that the customers understand the policies. Second, the return policy needs to be modified to satisfy the customers. As far as I'm concerned, customer always comes 1st. I will now take my business elsewhere and I'll make sure to tell everyone else about this. read more

Well I don't agree with Erica, sorry that you had to drive far and that you didn't like it. But that's your opinion. Me I'm really satisfied with the store, yes it's small store but I find everything I need there. I take zumba classes and I find from shoes to clothes and they don't look cheap is good quality, also the price is just right. I have a lot of friends that go to this store to buy what they need for them and their kids. Yes sometimes the store is close but we have to understand that sometimes the owner has to finish her errands like we all do and if we need it we will wait. I'm really happy with Ultimate Dance store and the people that work there are super nice. Everybody has their own opinion and we should respect that. Also every time I go the store is full of people so they might be doing something good don't you think. I recommend Ultimate Dance Store to get everything you need for your kids for their dance, if they need shoes and clothes you will find it there. I'm very Happy to shop there. read more
