Requested to leave my eyebrows thick, I sat down and specifically requested to just clean the stray hairs underneath and the unibrow. She proceeds to make one eyebrow entirely too thin and leaves the other thick. When I point this out she proceeded to pluck more hairs, worsening the issue. I went to my car and noticed how uneven they are and when I presented the issue she berated me and told me to sit down for her to "check" she said "I'm not going to pluck, just check" then proceeds to start plucking my hairs AGAIN. She was unkind and straight up lied about the service I requested; as I left she yelled at me "I'm going to remember you next time you come back". My brow was screaming S.O.S. Now that things are opening a bit, I figure I should not attend an important family event looking like a country scarecrow. I don't know the area so I had to look into Yelp for community recommendations and ratings. I found Ultimate Arch Salon. I called to get updates on protocol, services, and open appointments. I was told to come on in. I was greeted and seated upon entry. The environment and stations was sufficiently spaced. Everyone wore face masks. The place was clean. Hand sanitizer was used regularly. I knew that threading was needed. SO, LET ME ADDRESS THE CONCERN THAT I'VE DISCUSSED WITH OTHERS: when threading is required, the technician usually anchors the thread in their teeth for tension. Preet kept her mask on and anchored the thread around her neck. Great idea. Threading can feel a little smart (small pricks of pain). Today's service had a few skin catches, while trying to get the fine or short hairs. Those actually hurt. I asked that more care be taken. I also got my brow tinted after a little consult about the process and expected results. I explained that I need it to look natural. When the tint was applied and a mirror was given to me, my eyeballs almost popped out my head: shock hit me and a little panic. My eyebrows looked like a work of art drawn on neatly with black liquid liner. I wanted to yell "Take is mess off of my face." Preet asked me to trust her and walked away. I'm thinking, "I asked for brown, are we going to have issues?" REMINDER: this is a process, just the application. When she returned, she removed the tint. I laughed. "Whew, that's better. I was a little scared. THE RESULTS WERE NICE. I will return in the future. read more

I came to get lashes and told her exactly what I wanted and thats not what I received. she didn't even ask how I liked them because they kept giggling and having conversations amongst each other in their language. the lady that was doing mine also dropped utensil that she was using to place eyelashes on, on the floor and was not going to change until I said something. If i could give this a no star i would!!!! I waxed my face like usual but the girl who did it this time was very harsh on my face when waxing on my cheeks. When i left my face looked a little irritated but nothing like the pictures yet. When i felt the yank i then heard her whispering to her co worker and i felt her put Vaseline. She kept asking me if i was okay? When i was done i didn't yet notice the huge mark until i got home that it got noticeable. It was red looked like she had yanked my skin off and lots of scratched marks around my chin area... Completely ruined my face and i am so sad and upset this happened to me. I definitely do not recommend this place!!! I feel so upset cause i even payed thinking it was normal sensitive skin cause that's what she kept telling me. And to use hard wax next time! I went in on a Saturday to get my lashes done (individuals) the next day one of them came off so I called and she said I'll have to pay again to get a refill because it's no guarantee on lashes. Decided to try this place after looking at reviews. I feel that I get better arching results from eyebrow threading vs. waxing. They did a wonderful job! My eyebrows are naturally sparse so she suggested that I tint them. I followed her advise & was glad I did. I didn't have to use eyebrow pencil for the next 2 weeks! came here for lashes wednesday (3 days ago). this is not my usual lash spot but i was in the area and needed them done before i went on a trip that evening. they were done SO badly. first the tech who did them kept questioning how i said i wanted them done. then the ones i wanted were unavailable, which is fine. we improvised. but then the tech was struggling so much to do them, at the end they were so thin and uneven (i stated i wanted them full) and there were gaps between some of them. when i pointed out the gap she didn't fix it but just started on the other eye. i knew then that i was going to be looking crazy the next few days until i returned and went to my usual spot in south holland. that night when I slept, 4 clusters of lashes came out. they have a 24 hour policy where you can return and have them fixed for free but it benefited me not, because i was out of town. i'm not usually one to make a big fuss so i already decided i was never going there for lashes again. EVER! i'm NEVER cheating on my usual spot again. soooo unhappy. the one time that i got my brows threaded there however, was excellent. read more

I have been taking my wife here for about 6 months and was generally happy with the service until yesterday. There was a new person working at the salon and she was taking care of my wife. After a few minutes my wife comes running to me in tears as she had made a mistake on her eyebrows and it was very noticeable. The manager at the desk asked what was wrong and we told him that she is very unsatisfied with her eyebrows. Another person at the salon with more experience said she could fix it but honestly it was not even close to being fixed and she said "next time it will be better". The manager charged full price for a bad work on eyebrows. What made me want to write this review is not the person that made the mistake but the manager not even giving us a discount at the very least for bad service. It makes me think that someone can have their face destroyed here and be charged in full. This manager was very unprofessional and had terrible work practice. I go here whenever I'm home from school for my eyebrows but today I tried a Brazilian wax. The owner does them and at first I was very nervous because I've been very loyal to my first esthetician and have heard horror stories about some so trying a new person sort of worried me. She uses hard and soft wax and I'm used to all soft but this was definitely better than some waxes I've had before. I have a high tolerance for pain since I've been doing this consistently for about a year now and she was very gentle and explained the difference in waxes. This review is not for the actual salon, but for the hairstylist, Erica, who works in the salon. A few weeks ago, I came in the shop to get my hair braided. The entire time I was in pain and my scalp was very red. I told Erica that she was braiding my hair too tight. A professional stylist would know that braiding your hair tightly can cause damage. She continued to braid tightly because she wanted the style to maintain. Well, within three days my braids began to fall out of my hair. I contacted Erica and yet have to receive a response from her or the salon. That is not professional. read more

I came across this place on Yelp and have been satisfied since my first visit. I started coming here after the place that I frequent in Orland Park customer service became unbearable and the quality of work decreased. The quality of work CAN'T decrease when it comes to my eyebrows. I even am now getting them tinted as it looks great. I would not recommend this place for a bikini or Brazilian wax, I tried it and was not impressed as I still have hair which was very noticeable, I will continue to go to the European Wax Center on Elston on Chicago.
