While purchasing a Billie Eilish perfume, I asked about the difference between two versions with different packaging It was the same perfume and same size. She responded impatiently, stated she didn't know the difference, and appeared annoyed when asking another employee. The employees name was Lyanne. When I asked about coupons, she said she had been "yelling to the line" to load coupons before reaching the register and asked if I "did not hear" her, which felt disrespectful.A different employee told me it was 30% off which is why I was confused. I started to look for that employee and she dismissed me saying it "didn't matter anyway" and continued to huff, make remarks under her breath, and rush me through the transaction. When my coupon did not work, she repeatedly pushed me to open a credit card. After I declined, she said, "Well then you're not trying to save money," which I found inappropriate I don't want a credit card I just wanted the discount. The overall interaction was rude and uncomfortable, especially during the holiday season.This does not reflect the level of service I expect from Ulta. read more

The section where the Black Opal products are keep was a mess plain and simple, some of the products were leaking from the bottles and just thrown together without much care. I walked around the entire store and only the Black opal section was in disarray. That was my first time and it'll be my last time at that location. read more

Today I went to Ulta on Richmond Ave to have my hair done. There are no words for how wonderful Summer was. I explained what I wanted, she did it exactly as I requested. Summer is extremely professional. knowledgeable and talented. Summer will be my hairstylist for life. Ulta is lucky to have her. There isn't anything Summer cant do. read more

Did an online order for: The Ordinary toner, Cerave acne face wash, and a Too Cheeky Lips & Face product. Surprisingly, my order was ready for pick up under an hour after purchasing! I walked into the store and went straight to the cashier under "pick up." I was approached within a few minutes as I was trying to access my email and click on "I'm here." The nice worker asked in a friendly manner what I was here for and said I'd be helped shortly. The person at the cashier helped me after ringing up the customers on line, and needed to show photo ID for pick up. The whole process was probably around 5 minutes more or less! Ulta customer service is completely useless. No one can ever help you and after the answering of questions, being on hold, multiple people and attempts nothing ever seems to get fixed. Just a waste of time. Waiting for a phone call to see if I actually get one this time after two different contact numbers and no one seeming to understand what's going on. read more

Ulta, you guys are NOT getting better with age. You're getting so much worse. Went in today to swatch a few bronzers and I guess must have looked 'suspicious', because two older female employees came over to stand RIGHT NEXT to me and pretended to chat amongst themselves while keeping a very close eye on me. Neither of them asked me for help, they did not move towards me, just chatted and kept staring. After about five minutes of them wasting company time by talking amongst themselves, another customer comes into the same aisle, and I can tell these two older women want to help her, (probably thought she had money to spare because she was dressed nicer?) but they didn't dare walk past me to help her after completely ignoring/staring at me. So they held back, which made me stay there, wondering if they would ACTUALLY go up to this woman and ask if she needed help. Tired of this game of 'chicken', I left and headed into another aisle but I look back to see them heading into the aisle to help the woman. DISGUSTING. Something similar happened to me in the Manhattan store only this felt way worse. I'm also very annoyed that I get messaged on yelp by a 'business owner' saying "Thanks for your feedback" instead of asking "How can we make this better?". Seriously? read more

Not sure of the girls name who helped me find my shade in tarte foundation but we spoke briefly about her having family in St. James, Long Island. She was fantastic! Got my color match SPOT ON and made sure to take precautions with covid. She was so friendly and I will definitely be returning here for furure purchases as the store was so organized and neat. The greeter at the front, she was blonde with a black and white plaid hoodie was super sweet and found me the help I needed right away. She complimented my cousins mask which made her super happy (she struggles with her mental health.) It's the little things that matter in customer service and I appreciated that so much. I walked in this evening to buy one item and one item only. Keep in mind I knew what I wanted; I wanted to purchase it and walk out. I got to the store about 8:15 and walked aimlessly without 1 person asking me if I needed help. Finally I asked one of the floor girls if they carried a Clarisonic face brush. She waved her hand in my face and said "on the top shelf". Not sure what shelf she was talking about because her texting conversation must have been more important. Again I walked aimlessly around the store unable to locate someone else to help me or the product I was looking for. Alas, I gave up. I'll go to Sephora. read more

Great that they opened up an Ulta on this side of the island. Way more floor workers than the Sephora inside the mall. They actually pay attention to you and ask in a friendly tone if you need help with anything. Also, Ulta has a great point system that blows Sephora out of the water. But, they do not carry everything that Sephora does. Keep that in mind. read more

i discovered ulta at the mall in saratoga springs ny. loved that store and was a faithful customer until i moved to brooklyn ny. i must say the leadership at that store was amazing!! and gerri, the store manager, is super professional, made me a faithful client and her professionalism filters down to all who work there. my hairstylist, stephanie, was wonderful & i miss her great hair treatments. i was so fortunate to find mona who does a great job with my hair ay ulta at the staten island mall. she is so patient, very caring and a very talented stylist. i look forward to every visit with her. i have also found all the employees working the floors in both ulta's to be very friendly and helpful. many of them remember me each time i go. i highly recommend these ulta locations! read more

I just wanted to say that I had an amazing experience at Ulta Beauty Salon! I had an appointment with Tina the hair salon manager and she was right on time! Offered me coffee and made me feel comfortable. I had highlights, root touch up and haircut and I am so pleased with the service I experienced! I'm getting so many compliments on my hair!! This ulta has way better choice than the one at the end of the island. I'm just writing this review because I had a good experience, I was helped and advised about the products I was interested in. The girls working there were nice, not b*tchy like some people mentioned before. Not sure if they met some other workers from the different shift. Overall 5/5 will come again for the nyx black eyeliner lol read more

I have to say I love shopping in ulta. However that was soured when I went into the Staten Island Mall location today. Yesterday I had an eyebrow appointment and was called that my appointment had to be rescheduled since the brow technician had an emergency to attend to. They reschedule me for today. I get to the store and say I have an appointment and they look at me like I am crazy. Whoever rescheduled my appointment was dumb enough to schedule me on the techs day off! I will not visit this location again. The Bricktown mall location is way better! read more

I seriously can't stand the Ulta in Staten Island. It doesn't help that Staten Island is as racist as they come but my mother and I walked in to get some curl products. I'm use to curl products in other Ulta stores (like kings plaza mall) being up front and center almost close to the cash registers, also their curl products are actually in the same aisles as the other curl products (up front) what higher end brands are in the back. Ulta in Staten Island is so fucking racist that the curl products like pattern, Shea moisture etc...(excluding deva curl, curl smith and b.b) were in the fucking back by the employee room. Let's not forget to mention all the employees (who are all white girls) constantly following my mother and I around the store as if 1.) we don't know what we want 2.) common retail 'employee policy' to follow suspicious looking people. @ulta if you see this you seriously need to reconsider your product placement of natural hair care products, have more black owned products and retrain your fucking employees to stop following every curl girl they see and I'm sorry but your European aesthetic employees can not help me by following me around the store and they should at the least learn about curly hair if they truly want to be 'helpful'. read more

Horrible experience. As soon as I walked in the door I held the door open for the manager (as she was coming into the store from her lunch break) who didn't even say thank you. I was with my friend shopping for new hair products for both of us (I am Puerto Rican with kinky curly hair and my friend has straight hair, not sure if that matters as I am also human and a customer)‍ but for some reason I was never greeted or helped. I finally found some products way in the back for my texture hair. My friend pointed at a staff who was walking by for me to ask for her help, the staff walked right pass us and didn't even ask if we needed help. She then looked back at me and said "there are great products here in this aisle" and pointed to the Afro/ black American aisle and walked away. I felt very discriminated against as this person assumed I was looking for these type of products based on the color of my skin and hair. I was with my friend and our kids who are of another race with different texture hair than mine. I felt offended that she didn't ask what I was looking for she just assumed. This place only hires one type of people, there's no diversity at all and it's sad. Even after buying $100 in products and me telling the cashier to have a good day the cashier didn't even say a word. I used to work at Sally's Beauty and I would always ask the customer what where they looking for or how can I help you? I would never assume and I would always make them feel welcome. I am really considering taking legal action. read more

Ulta customer service is ridiculous. Was specifically in detailed told to call back to have a late fee removed WITH NO PROBLEM that I was eligible and also that a family member became very ill and when I called and spoke with four people in one day after multiple attempts on different days I was informed different outcomes. The end result was dragged out and I was told they couldn't have a late fee removed. Being with them for years, they have no problem collecting my money, but can't wave a late fee that I was already told would be done EFFORTLESSLY. Poor customer service and care. read more

The salon is great. Berat is by far the best hair dresser and am so happy to have found him. Very professional, a true color expert, sweet and simply amazing. After many bad experiences, Berat has managed to save my hair and repair so much damage. I highly recommend him. read more
