I ask for a manager, Ms. Yami summoned Mr. AMANda ,an Experience Manager. Ms.Yami informed Mr. AMANDA that I needed the $349.00 shark mask in Black. Mr. AMANda rudely replied " IF WE DONT HAVE IT IN BLACK,,, WHAT CAN I DO ?!" ....STUNNED AT THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM, CONCERN AND OUT right AWKWARD BEHAVIOR AND RESPONSE,I REPLIED,,,,," PERHAPS YOU CAN ORDER IT ON LINE IN BLACK AND HAVE IT SHIPPED TO MY HOME, SINCE THE MASKS CLEARLY COMES IN TWO COLORS BLACK AND white. Honestly, as a makeup girl, I love going to Ulta since they have a little bit of in between high-end and drugstore makeup so it's pretty good whenever I'm looking for products that are expensive and they are not too expensive! This was my first time ever inside an Ulta. It must be a weird crips/bloods binary thing but I was assigned Sephora person at birth, but only go into that store when I am travelling and need something urgently rather than waiting patiently for it to come in the mail. So it finally took an Ulta exclusive that was all over tiktok to actually get me to come in an Ulta for the first time. Sephora is typically going for luxurious vibes in the store. The stores are not cramped and jam packed with stuff. Like the way Kramer painted those lines on the highway in that episode of Seinfeld, you have room to move around. This Ulta looked more like a warehouse jam packed wall to wall with too much stuff. If Sephora is a museum, then this is a hoarder's house. For a busy store they had two check out girls, so I waited in a long line that moved slowly. This was also not very luxurious. Sephora wants you out of the store fast, otherwise you get Ulta vibes with too many products strewn all about in cramped aisles and too many people trying to squeeze through these narrow hoarder aisles stocked with everything from newspapers from the 1950s to 900 options of every type of elixirs and potions under the sun. After a long wait I finally got to the cashier and she was not very pleasant. Obviously retail is hard, so I was not expecting backflips. But I had only one product I was ringing up, I was not going to be the straw that broke any camel's back. The only product that got me to visit Ulta was the touchland x disney exclusive. It was not available in any other stores and was sold out of most Ulta locations. So I have to give credit to this location to stock it and still have it available despite it being over-viral all over tiktok where the trendy people congregate. If you need an exclusive drop you can only get at this store you are not going to be reading yelp reviews, you will just come git your thang. But this was an unexpectedly bad-overall shopping experience in the Quarry, where the stores usually look, act, and feel higher end than the average south San Antonio experience. read more

I do not recommend this location unless you want the employee to profile you. I would always go to ulta. I just had a baby and she is now 4 months so I go in with her and her stroller. The girls there profile me because I have a stroller and follow me all around the store as if I'm going to steal something. They constantly make eye contact with me and make it extremely obvious. I literally catch shoplifters as my job so trust me when I'm not giving ANY indications of shoplifting and let's say theoretically I was, that's NOT the way to do it. I will now on be going to Sephora . The ulta employees really need to find something better to do with their time. read more

Aísles are tight for a walker or wheelchair but the store was organized. Ari was very helpful. We found what we needed and were out in no time. Parking near the entrance and easy to get in. Just be careful once you're inside because there's a lot to bump in to. read more

Terrible customer service, first by the manager making me feel like they were doing me a big favor for allowing me to picking up my order, then followed by the cashier with a snarky attitude. What is it with some of the people that work here. While getting my eyebrows done I literally watched an associate treat a shoplifter better they those associates treated me, he even went as far as complimenting her Bebe bag she was throwing unpaid product AFTER having to return the stolen merchandise in from a far distance , as trying to not offend her, and then allowing her to carry on as if she just did not get busted trying to steal. This place is often busy, especially on the weekends. They run good sales, but always ask their employees because they have the inside scoop if there is a sale coming up. What is going on at Ulta?! Had an online order, picked this location as the pickup location. Realized I forgot my wallet with my driver's license at home. Had a second wallet with me with credit cards, an employee ID badge (with pic), offered to show them the order in the app and they would not release the order to me. Suggestion #1: think of ways to reduce these kind of friction points like implementing a PIN at the time of order pickup like Target. Went to place an order online and literally the time it took me to go into the other room and grab my wallet and come back - two items in my cart aren't available. Seriously? Suggestion #2: Implement a method of securing a purchase once someone has added them to a cart (i.e. a timer that locks those items in your cart for 5 minutes like Ticket Master) -or- even better: get your sh!t together when it comes to inventory. Ulta is becoming like Sephora where every time I want to order something you don't have it in stock (perfect example - Bread Beauty Supply's Kit 1-Wash: Wash Day Essentials- has been sold out for MONTHS). Considering there's no sale price and coupons don't apply to what's currently in my cart - why buy from Ulta then? If inventory is really that bad from the supplier tell them you're going to pull the listing because it's a shoddy customer experience to have something up that's perpetually unavailable. Lastly, it's 2024. Ulta's omnichannel sales experience is garbage. Going back to when store's don't have something in-stock -- it's not possible to just pickup what a store DOES have and ship the rest without creating multiple orders. And if it sells out on Ulta.com and every store around you STILL has it in-stock. You can't choose order pickup. And if you choose pickup and there's free items - they're likely "online only" (or with shipping only and you forfeit the free items with store pickup like the Dermologica 3-Piece Kit) Why?! Everyone else has this figured out. It's time for Ulta to get it together and figure it out too (suggestion #3). Everyone wants you to feel sorry for them when they're failing but they don't take the appropriate actions to avoid getting there in the first place. You should also claim the Yelp page that someone created for your corporate address and be just as responsive on there because otherwise you're missing out on valuable feedback from online experiences or forcing people to leave said feedback on local store pages which is unfairly impacting those (suggestion #4). read more

I made an appointment here for a root touch-up and blowout. Unfortunately, my previously dark roots turned bright orange just two days later (I hadn't even washed my hair again yet), which was quite unexpected as I didn't want my hair to be lightened. I was in a hurry to get my grey hair covered before an event, but now I have orange roots. Additionally, instead of getting a blowout as I had requested, they asked if I wanted curls and I agreed, but I wanted both services. I didn't get a blowout, just a messy blow dry and then curls. On top of that, I ended up getting burned with the curling iron and got dye on my shirt. I might have overlooked these other issues, and the stylist was very apologetic, but the fact that my hair turned orange is simply unacceptable. I felt compelled to write this review as a warning to others. Proceed with caution. read more

I went to the store 3/29/205 to return an item that was a gift. The cashier gave me a gift card at that time and I did not use again until April 5, 2025. When I purchased an item for $6.00 my balance was listed on the receipt as$55.67 but the cashier did not give me the card back. I did not realize it until that following Monday. I stopped by that Monday and told them at the store what had happened and they told me the manager was in a meeting and she would call me later that night. Well no one called me. I proceeded to call Tuesday and was told by another manager that the MOD was off but they would relay the message. I called again Wednesday and that manager told me she had to go back and review the video and she needed to get authorization from Corporate to see what the next steps would be. Not one manager has had this happen before and did not know how to handle the situation. They had my receipt with transaction number balance and the name of the cashier. My concern was losing my money or worse the card being used. This should have been taken care of immediately and I should not still be waiting on a response from corporate. The managers should have reached out by phone not email to find out what the next steps should be. In the future, I believe you should train your managers on situations like this. I am hoping to receive a response today and get my money back. This has been an inconvenience to me traveling to the store and calling several times. Hopefully this gets settled soon. read more

For some reason, the same rude employee always checked me out. My last visit was it for me! I asked the employee if she would check the price on some lashes I thought to be on sale. I was really wanting a summer cut. I opted for shoulder length cut since I've had that done twice previously with Elite stylist at ulta and had good experiences. This time due to work schedule I booked with any stylist and this was the worst hair cut. I have thick lightly wavy hair. I wasn't shocked at length difference after cut but the next day I noticed how bad the haircut was. It was so thick literally a mushroom and the worst layers looks like stairs. I really said i didn't want a blunt cut. I'm in a loss for words and am so devastated. Never again will I trust someone to cut my hair. read more

I needed my hair done SO bad as my normal stylist moved away. I went here on a whim and I couldn't be more happy that I did!! TyTiana was an absolute pleasure to sit and talk with while she spent a long 5 hours doing my highlights, which turned out PHENOMENAL!! Typically it takes even longer for my old stylist to do my highlights so not only did she do them in a super timely manner for my schedule, they also looked absolutely amazing and I couldn't be happier. Without a doubt the best set of highlights I have ever had done in my hair, I couldn't recommend her or this salon more! The service and the staff here are excellent. So. O complaints there. I like the fact that you are approached by someone and offers help if you need finding a product. I was looking to try a new liquid foundation and setting powder - they lady that helped me was informative, willing to help, and after about 10mins, she was able to find the right color and shade of make up I was looking for. So I am appreciative of that. They only reason I would give this Ulta a 3/5 stars is because of the overall look of the inside. It just looks a tad bit messy. And it looks like when some of the products don't sell,they just rally them up and place it at the shelves near the cashier. I think I'll try Sephora next time. I'm 8 months pregnant and I physically could not bend over and reach to the back of the Lancôme shelf to sift through the unorganized concealers and find the shade I needed. It was a very slow, rainy day and 4 employees were standing at the registers chatting. Nobody was in line. I asked if someone could help me with an item and an older blonde lady with a heavy accent quickly said, "if it's not on the shelf we don't have it". I explained that I couldn't reach to see if they had it. She reluctantly walked the short distance over, handed me the shade I was looking for and walked away without saying anything. First time visit unsure about the process, I stood at the brow counter and stood, and stood while the brow lady was having a full blown conversation with a customers friend. They laughed, talked and finally the tech asked "can I help you" with a tone of annoyance. I was so upset she took so long to ask as we stood right in front of her. Very rude experience, it wouldn't have taken her much time to acknowledge I was standing there and ask how she could help. Customer service and care should be the top priority's of folks that are allowed to practice their trade in stores like these. Very rude, but lasting experience that I'll never forget. Man! It's been a minute since I've been inside of an Ulta! I did not realize that they carried so many brands, especially Rihanna and Kylie's make up. They have makeup, skin care, hair products, body products, and then there's a whole hair salon in the back! I thought that the store was well lit, well organized, and everyone was so friendly! I like that the women gave us room to test out the products without standing over our shoulder. I like when places give you that space to try things out, and make your own decision, without the pressure. I ended up just buying a NYX eyebrow pencil, and I checked out with Jennifer. Jennifer was super sweet! She complimented me on my purchase, assured me that it was a good one, and she was super cheery! Sidenote: she also had two pigtails that I thought were super cute. I just left this location without the products I had chosen because the cashier refused to ring me up unless I gave her a phone number. I asked why I had to and she said it was required to return items. I said I wasnt going to return them, so she asked for anyone's number. So, just to be clear, this location will not sell you items unless you give them a phone number for someone. I guess having receipts is not a valid proof of purchase. I would stay away from a store that thinks they are entitled to your personal information for makeup. read more

I had one of the worst experience ever! Dont get your hair done here they make it worse, AND make sure they don't scam you. I went in to get my hair done Monday on my day off to relax instead i went to a noise ass day. They had people working fixing in the back making so much noise. The women that attend me don't get wrong she was nice but her hair experience was a zero she left it nothing like I wanted it. I had it so much better the way I had it before. They ended up charging me 300 and something. After making complaint with the manager The manager said she was gonna contact me and never did instead it was lady that did my hair saying she never put toner on top of hair what I had payed already for saying for me to go back. Go back for what??? It should have been done that same time I was there, why text me when I left & made complain.
