Having said that, my friend and I walked in and were not greeted at all or approached by the two employees standing near the door, talking to each other (instead of to customers). ‍ My friend and I had been wandering around for a bit when darling Lauren came up to ask if we needed help. Next thing we knew, she helped us find what we needed and had my friend sitting there at the "beauty bar" area and was helping her match foundation. Customer service is sub par and in the event you need assistance from a manager, don't expect much help. one person states one policy, another says it means something different, yet customer service via phone has another explanation. Went in today looking for a dry shampoo and they had a bottle with no lid on. I picked it up and noticed it felt lighter and so I "used" it thinking it was a tester. An employee came over and rudely confiscated it despite me apologising and trying to explain the situation. She very well could have just told me it wasn't a tester but confiscating it felt embarrassing and belittling. I won't return here and I hope there is action on this. read more

I go to ulta for the cologne selection because it has basically the biggest selection of men's cologne which is sad because it's tiny. It's about the size of an apartment closet of different colognes. Meanwhile the girls perfume have shelves after shelves after shelves after shelves. They do not carry a lot of products for men in store. So it's a bunch of guys buying girl products that are advertised for women. Im big into cologne and I know I'm not the only one but they don't have the best selection it's basically the same selection that Sephora has and Dillards. When it comes to men's beauty care it's basically a tiny closet worths of products. I shop here because it's close to where I live. If this shop had more equal diversity in products so men also had products. I have to order alot of men's products online because most stores only sell the Cheap stuff that doesn't work. read more

I had made an appointment with them a week prior trying to get my hair bleached for my birthday. I went in, talked to them and everything seemed fine. They said that they had time to do it so I went ahead and made an appointment. I purposely made an appointment the day before my birthday. Ulta called me the day of my appointment saying that they don't have time anymore. i was very frustrated because Ulta should've called me ahead of time to tell me this, but they decide to call me the day of my scheduled appointment? it was my birthday the next day so clearly I had limited time on finding a new place to make a new appointment. thankfully i found a place and went the morning of my birthday but this all could've been avoided if Ulta called me ahead of time and not the day off. it was very unprofessional, it's not right to charge customers a fee if they cancel the day of there appointment but as a hairstylist it's okay? read more

I love ulta and considering this is the closest one to me it always ends up being the one I shop at. Last time I was here it felt like the same worker kept walking by me over and over again, and then asked "just checking in again, are you still doing good?" Even though it was the first time that worker had spoken to me specifically. If I remember correctly, I had a total of three different workers come up to me in the span of 10 minutes I was taking to decide what hair product to buy by reading product descriptions on their app. It was just irritating because there were other people that would come in the aisle and it seemed like they were only asking me if I needed help. I'm an adult, I know how to speak up if I need help with something. I think having three people on the floor ready to help customers is enough if someone is needing help, which I couldn't help but wonder what the heck I was doing that was making them feel the need to come up to me every moment. I think it's good to ask customers if they need help but the constant walking by and asking me if I needed help annoyed me so much I decided to just buy what I originally came for and leave asap instead of browsing more. As someone that shops on the app a lot this location always seems to be out of stock of products that are actually popular unfortunately. read more

Took my wife here she was browsing to see what she wants. Basically employee was on top of us nonstop we would tell them we're good and they would be right back on top of us or watching us. They made us feel uncomfortable. And unwelcome at the store. Very poor management and on top of it we spent over $400 there. I have consistently experienced a lack of helpfulness from the staff each time I've come into this location. I constantly have to seek an Associate out to get direction in this store and always am greeted with the look of annoyance after asking for help. I usually don't leave bad reviews. There's someone at the entrance greeting you as you walk in. I'm able to quickly find my hair products and check out. I've never had an issue when they are out of stock on products. The only words I can think I of right now to describe this store are, "LOW CLASS." I purchased a bottle of Living Proof Dry Shampoo a few days ago. I used it ONCE, and then the spray/pump/nozzle mechanism got stuck and was no longer functional. I brought it back to Ulta, thinking they could exchange it and send the faulty bottle back to the manufacturer. I did absolutely nothing to cause this problem. However, I did not have a receipt. They told me that while they believed that I purchased the product at their store, they couldn't send it back to the manufacturer without a receipt. They gave a superficial apology, but would not exchange the product! A situation like this is Retail 101! I then asked the cashier if I could take the defective product to Sephora, and let THEM send it back to the manufacturer. She was so cheerful and smiled and in her bubbly voice said,"Yes! You should not have any problem doing that at Sephora." HELLO???? Who are the owners of this place? Owners, If I were you, I would start fresh with new kind, empathic employees. I walked in expecting someone to help me with my questions and instead was disappointed by what I got. Several employees standing around at the entrance talking amongst themselves not realizing customers walking by. An employee approached a woman dressed quite nicely and just walked right right past me dressed in jeans SND sneakers didn't even notice me as she walked right in front of me. As an avid Ulta Beauty user, I've visited lots of Ulta locations. It's hard to beat their beauty steals and rewards program however, after visiting the Orem location this week I will NEVER shop at this location again. The employees were so busy talking to each other and when I excused myself to ask a question, the employees were beyond rude! Rolling their eyes acting as if I was a huge inconvenience. They didn't have the product I was looking for in stock and both employees refused to call another location to see if another local store had it in stock. I LAAHHHVEEE this Ulta. I come here more than any sane human being should. It's my favorite Ulta in the state. This store is always clean, usually have everything in stock, and the associates are super friendly. At other Ulta's, I always feel BOMBARDED by associates constantly asking me if I need any help. I appreciate you recognizing I am in your store, but I also wanna lust over makeup and hair care products by myself, ya know? So I'm glad the employees at this store aren't extremely nosey. They're friendly and will answer any questions you have, but they're not going to trail you or leave you high in dry in a desperate situation. I also get my hair done at the salon. It's pretty pricey, but the quality of work they do is unparalleled. I love the treatment I receive, the quality of haircut/color, and the stylists really talk to you and connect with you on an individual basis. For that reason, I continue to pay every few months for a haircut, with a generous tip. They really earn it! I LOVE THIS STORE. It's my home away from home and I'm glad we finally have an Ulta in Orem. read more

I stopped in today after work to pick up a setting spray for my eyeshadow. The store was empty of customers other than myself; there was a cashier at the counter and then two employees that I found crouched down in a corner. One looked like she was actually working, and the other seemed to just be chatting with her and keeping her company. I approached them, but almost felt like I was bothering them. They weren't exactly rude; their attitudes were pretty lukewarm and they seemed uninterested in helping me. I asked about the setting spray and was told only about the Urban Decay spray, which runs about $30 at Sephora. I asked if they had other brands that weren't quite as expensive. Her response was, "yeah, but we don't ever use those." I was a bit shocked, because that's a horrible sales pitch. She told me about the NYX brand, and then pointed me toward the opposite side of the store, and then went back to her conversation. After a couple minutes, I found the NYX brand. It took me even more time locating the product, because I didn't know what type of packaging I was looking for or what exactly it would be called. Good customer service would have been the representative suggesting several different brands that the store carried, then walking with me over to the displays where they were, taking the product off the shelf, and placing it in my hands. This is how I was taught to treat customers when I worked in retail stores and they asked for assistance. This experience was not the best. You can still be a helpful sales associate without breathing down a customer's neck. I've had positive experiences at the Midvale and Sandy locations, so I will stick to those stores only. They know how to be friendly and assist in helping customers with their needs. read more

This Ulta never has anything I want in stock. I've come multiple times and every time is a disappointment. If you get an email on any promotional sample, don't bother going here because the 3 separate times I've gone, they don't have anything left. And it's not even like I go at night. I'll go around noon on a Sunday and they won't have anything. They also need to work on their customer service. Plan on spending at least 15 minutes in line because they're slow, and talk forever to their paying customers about their new diet. I'm just going to order online from now on. read more

Do not get your brows waxed here. The girl who waxed mine and my husbands eyebrows was super nice but she did a HORRIBLE job. My husbands eyebrows had so many little hairs that she didn't get. They didn't even look like they had been waxed. When we went to talk to the manager, they brushed it off and gave zero compensation. I hate myself for spending $75 at this brow bar. Ulta Beauty - Got this body butter on sale! - Hair Salons Near Me - Orem, Utah

Such a horrible experience at the Orem Utah Ulta location yesterday. I purchased some Body Shop body butter and there was a 30% off sign on the body butter display. When I was being rung up, I asked the associate if it had rang up on sale, and she had another salesperson check the sign. She told me that it was not good on body butter, but I still purchased it. I was sure the sign was on shelf with the items I bought so I went to check sign details after completing my purchase. The sign read that the 30% excluded skin care, hair care, gift sets, and facial care. There were no 30% off signs on facial care shelf, hair care, or gift sets. However the body cream shelves had 30% off signs. I approached counter and told associate that the sign should probably be removed as it was misleading. She was super nice but wasn't sure what I meant. I told her I would show her and she came with me to look. Before I could even speak sentence, I was rudely cut off mid sentence by an associate who basically grabbed the sign off and said "what do you want removed?" I was shocked at her behavior. I asked if she was the manager and she snapped yes. I let her know she was a horrible one. I walked towards the door and she sarcastically told my nephew and I good bye and have a nice night. I will NEVER step foot in that store again. There is a HUGE turnover rate with employees there. I know why now for sure this punk brat manager is no role model for manners. Pathetic read more

The General Manager Wendy is extremely rude and unprofessional. Yelling at employees in front of customers is beyond unprofessional and disrespectful to her employees. I tried to ask her a simple question and was interrupted very rudely, I didn't even finish my question. And the answer to my question was a blunt no, she didn't know when they would be getting the collection in. She easily could've been nice when I am a paying customer but was extremely rude and disrespectful. She does not have people skills which is very important for her job. This is my FAVORITE Ulta to shop at. The employees don't harass you but are always there to answer questions. The ladies helping you (especially at the high end makeup counter) are always super knowledgeable and helpful. I also appreciate that they are really reasonable as far as returning products. I recently purchased the Dyson dryer online and it arrived opened and the box was damaged. They exchanged it no problem. Well a week later I changed my mind (because I was not in my right mind buying a $400 blow dryer). The manager at another Ulta said its against corporate policy to return something twice.... even though I explained my situation and was close to tears. I was having one of the WORST mornings of my life. My car had been broken into the night before and all of my makeup was stolen along with a bunch of other very crucial and expensive things. Anyway, I went to ulta to start buying some new basics the day after it happened and the staff was so friendly and helpful. I was directed over to the gals who can color match you and what not and sweet Kayleigh who was helping me was so amazing. I ended up telling her what had happened while she matched me and she was so kind and she ended up completely pampering me and did an INCREDIBLE job with my makeup. She definitely knew her stuff and is probably the only person to this day who has been able to color match me correctly. It took everything in me to not cry off the beautiful work she did on my face hahaha. Thank you so much Kayleigh and everyone else who helped me that day. The majority of the girls that work there act like you are so dumb and don't know anything about makeup (and even if you don't know anything, they shouldn't be snobby about it). I would give the store a zero if I could. I've been meaning to leave this review for a while, as this event occurred about 4 months ago. There is a worker at this Ulta, I think her name is Alex or Allie, but I was walking around the shampoos and I watched this girl start curling her hair on the job! At first I ignored it, and kept walking around the store. After about thirty minutes, I went back to that section again, and she was still curling her hair! At this point, a couple of her coworkers were surrounding her and I heard her say something like "guys don't judge me, I didn't have time to do my hair" and the other girls just laughed. I see now that this girl is still working there, but if I was the boss, there is no way I would let one of my workers stand around and curl their hair for thirty minutes.
