I honestly wish I could give zero stars. The amount of ignorance shown today by an arrogant manager has me wanting to drive miles out of the way to not have to deal with this staff anymore. Responding quickly and rudely with "I don't carry that here." Without even double checking really shows the lack of grace and customer service skills. 1. Do you own the store? Why are you using the phrasing "I don't carry that." You are JUST a manger, get off your high horse. 2. You did have the product I was looking for, but you were just so sure that the app was wrong and I wasn't worthy of actual assistance. Didn't even take the time to suggest another product. Just walked away and stood there doing nothing. You weren't even busy with another customer! 3. I wish your receipt had a survey I give feedback on as well. Interesting how that isn't a feature accessible to customers. Probably due to not wanting repeated bad reviews. I worked retail as a manger for 6+ years when I was younger. Even if I was almost certain we didn't have something in stock I would take the time to assure the customer it was unavailable and suggest 1-2 different items. Quick and snippity responses like that only come off as IGNORANT and RUDE. You chose to work in customer service. Work on how you talk to people. read more

Then I witnessed an extremely rude manager unnecessarily bark at a FedEx driver about where to place a package and the attitude he received about signing for the delivery .. I was like WOW ! Today I visited this Ulta location to purchase and have my lash clusters applied. The staff did not greet me. They did not offer any assistance as I browsed through the isles. The employee that I did ask about the lash services asked another employee who appeared to be a manager and stated the service was not offered. Weird that you can book a lash cluster service on the Ulta app for this location. They didn't suggest the strip lash service either which I thought was poor customer service. I will never recommend this Ulta location to anyone. read more

If I could Joey 100 stars, I would! I went into Ulta today after having a bit of a rough day, when I was looking for help and Joey came to my rescue - helping me right from the start. I was a bit (very) scatterbrained, and Joey was on top of everything I was asking, giving the best recommendations, making sure I got the perfect match, and walking me to every single product instead of pointing me in a direction - all while making me feel so much better and turning my WHOLE day around. We stood and talked for a few mins about make up and our favs, and I left their feeling SO MUCH BETTER than when I came in. EVERY HUMAN NEEDS A JOEY IN THEIR DAY!!!!! If you have the opportunity to visit this Ulta located in Orchard Park, you should stop by the MAC section when Sherlee is working. ( I am sorry if I spelled her name wrong). She is a knowledgeable consultant who makes you feel great and really brings the fun back to shopping for makeup. It was also nice to see that the store was offering a 20% off everything coupon. These only come a few times a year. The prestige brands and perfumes are included in this, so stock up when you see this coupon. read more

When life hands you a new Ulta, you hop in the car and head over. And with that in mind, I set out on a cold Saturday morning to take advantage of the grand opening. Let's face it, Ulta had me at "savings". This Ulta is almost literally right off the 219, so it wasn't as far away as I thought from the Northtowns. It's a big location in the Quaker Crossing plaza, in fact, the exterior is visible right away as you approach from the highway. A group was gathering for the grand opening, so I jumped in line. On the inside, it's your standard Ulta, so it's a familiar experience everywhere you go. Notably, this location has a MAC display, which I haven't seen in any other locations so far, so I will have to keep an eye out in the future. Best of all, the staff did a great job controlling the crowd and getting us all out through the checkout line efficiently. Even though it's not the closest location, I would definitely return to this Ulta location, and not just because I always have a ton of coupons! read more

I've been going to ulta for years to get my hair cut and colored. I never left there unhappy with the outcome, until my last visit. I booked my appointment online at 8:30 am, for a 7pm appointment. I did not choose a specific stylist because I only had a week before school and I always had good experiences no matter which stylist I got. When I arrived at 6:50pm the woman at the salon counter told me it would be a few moments for the stylist to finish up on her client before getting to me. I was fine with this, I was early and didn't mind shopping around. However, after a a few minutes became 15, I was a little ancy. Then a half hour came and I was a little annoyed. It was now 7:20 and I was still not in the chair. I had a store manager come up to me and ask if I needed help and she wondered what time my appt was. I told her and she walked back to the stylist, glanced at her progress, and then assured me it wouldn't be much longer. She didn't even ask the stylist how much longer to expect. Still, 15 more minutes passed before I finally got some service. I didn't actually get into the chair until 7:30 pm, 40 minutes after I arrived, and the stylist proceeded to tell me she "didn't know she had any other appointments", so she didn't time her work properly (even though I booked my appointment very early that morning and received a confirmation). This was frustrating because I now felt like she may rush on my hair since the store was closing in an hour and a half. After showing the stylist several photos of what I wanted and verbally explaining it, we were still having issues communicating. This stylist had a very thick accent and I don't think she fully understood what I was saying, as well as it was difficult for me to understand her. I came in wanting a dimensional brown with some deep red low lights. She seemed very confused with the term "low lights" and kept pointing to ashy browns even after I explained I wanted something warmer. Finally after a while of trying to explain and almost giving up we found a neutral dark brown color base with a nice auburn for accent pieces. She said it would be like a color melt, and I was satisfied with this; however I was still very flustered that it took so long for me to communicate to this stylist, I never had such difficulty. Both of us kept checking the time now that we spent so long deciding on what colors, it was about 8 pm before she began putting color on me. I was there until after the store closed, we didn't finish until about 9:30 pm. After all of that, I was hoping for a nice result. But... I ended up with a blank brown hair color with some random golden blonde chunks, there is no red accents like I asked for, and it is not dimensional at all. It is definitely not a color melt either. It seems like very choppy color and I feel like I wasted so much of my money to be so unsatisfied. The woman said I could return during one of her shifts to get it "re toned" in the next two days if I didn't like it. Unfortunately i worked for the next 5 days in a row and really didn't feel that toning would fix what happened. I also didn't want to return to this same stylist or even the same location. Why would I want her to fix my hair when I can't trust she will do a good job or even understand what I want? I was very upset since my senior year of college was beginning and I wanted a fresh look before it began. I called the Amherst location to see if I could come there to get my hair fixed that upcoming weekend before school started and they told me there is a policy that the person that did the hair or that specific stores manager must be the one to fix, or else it won't be a complimentary correction. I found this frustrating because my entire experience at the orchard park ulta was not good, I did not want to return there. I wanted to go to Amherst where I knew a different stylist that I've had great results with. I will not be back to this place after years of being a customer. A loyal customer who has an appointment should not have to wait 40 minutes, nor should they have such a struggle to communicate with their stylist, and end up with poor results. Very unhappy. If you are going to go to this ulta I recommend Britney and Ashely if they still work here. I have had them as stylists at the old location and they are both professional, kind, prompt, and always deliver good results. Otherwise, steer clear. Update: It's been a full month now and I can clearly see the chunks of uneven highlighting getting more and more visible. My hair has faded significantly but I still don't know how to even fix it at this point so I'm not doing anything to it. It feels damaged and gross. read more

I was in a rush because me and my fiancé just got in town from Los Angeles. We drove across the states so I was in more of my comfortable clothes I would say. Shorts and a sweatshirt. For some odd reason I was profiled right at the entrance by the stores manager. Older looking lady, I tried to explain to her I was looking for gifts for my lady but she didn't seem to really care or help me. As I was looking around she followed me threw out the whole store and kept a really close eye on me witch made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I asked her where the Paul Mitchell shampoo was because I usually buy this for myself and once I took it off the shelf I immediately went to go cash out because I felt like I was being hawked. After I cashed out I stopped at the front entrance and took a breath and realized I wasn't going to let this old lady ruined my day so I went back inside and asked her if she could point me to the Dyson hair dryers and she did. I went and grabbed one after being asked if I had a recipe for the shampoo I just purchased lol lady was crazy "she watched me cash out" but anyways I grabbed the Dyson blow dryer witch is decently price maybe like 400$ witch is a lot of money to some people & I don't believe this manager was thinking I could afford it because when I went to go cash out she told the girl at the front who cashed me out originally to move and she took control and cashed me out. There was a screen that popped up for donation "Save the Children" so I donated 20$ I think and she said oh wow you donated. Made me feel like she was treating me like someone who couldn't take care of themselves and it really bothered me. NO one should be treated this way. You should always take care and treat all your customers the same even if they look like they're having a bad day. For all the employees that work here I'm sorry you have to put up with her. She is not better then you. You are great and keep working your hardest. Old miserable lady, if you're reading this. Don't profile people. You don't know me. Please have better days and treat people who walk threw those doors with respect. Even if you're having a bad day. I'm a 25 years old man who own 2 homes one I'm Shanghai and one in Los Angeles. I won't be returning to this beautiful new Ulta because they wouldn't allow me to look up my Ulta charge as I've done in the past at previous locations. I even made sure to check online if it was possible to perform a look up in store. I got the response "no, we don't do that." I guess this location doesn't want their loyal customers to shop there! This Ulta location is the absolute worst. Every time I come in here I leave disappointed and angry to be honest. In addition to not having items in stock, my main issue is the lack of customer service from the associates. I've been going to this Ulta since it opened in the previous location in the McKinley mall so I feel pretty confident in leaving my one star review. Most recently, I took a trip to Ulta bc I'm in desperate need of a new foundation. Now I hate going out shopping. It gives me the worst anxiety. (Sorry ‍ I have social anxiety. It is what it is.) So after researching online for a couple of weeks I finally decided it was time to go in to have someone color match me and help with my final decision. I went in with a list of 5 dif foundations I wanted to check out. I also brought a list of current and past foundations used. Do you think a single employee greeted me? Do you think a single employee asked me if I needed help? NOPE. I'm walking around with my list, searching for the foundations (I found 3 of the 5), trying to color match myself. I'm feeling overwhelmed, getting anxious. A gaggle of Ulta employees are standing at the front of the store chatting. More employees chatting throughout out the store (this is typical. I would be surprised if I walked in there and didn't see this.) So after about 20 mins of trying to color match myself and find the right foundation I said screw this I'm out. I will only shop at ulta.com going further (i do 90% of my ulta shopping online anyways). As always, thanks for nothing Ulta at Quaker Crossing! I suggest some sort of employee training on customer focus. read more
