Emely at the New Caney location was absolutely amazing. I would absolutely recommend that everyone goes there and ask for her. Her makeup looks nice, she has the best recommendations, she she really really really really helped me figure out what I needed to grab . She got me onto some new products and she was just overall a great experience. I was in this store two weeks ago. I was there searching for makeup items for over 30 minutes. Not one sales person asked if I needed help. However, a group of young teens walked in the door and the sales people were all over them asking if they needed help, chatting, and talking. Just because I am an older woman does not mean that I do not need makeup or skincare. I have money to spend, but not here ever again! By the way, the teens walked out without purchasing one thing! Went to this location for salon services and was disappointed. I've gone to other locations and received great results. This location had a very inexperienced person that took almost 4 hours to complete what's normally less than 2 hours. My hair was left frizzy and damaged. I made a report and it took over 2 weeks for someone from the location to return my call. I was offered to have my hair redone for free and declined. I was then told I had to drive back to the location for a refund. When asked if it could be done without me having to return I was told no. It was explained the card was needed. I drove to the store as instructed and had to wait 15 minutes for the manager to assist me. Once he did not one time was my card swiped or needed. This is one extremely slow Ulta. I came on a Sunday afternooon a few weeks back to pick up a couple of small stuff. The line was going back towards the hair care section so I was thinking to myself "Either a really busy day or a really angry customer" The answer to that was...neither. As I got closer up front, I figured out its the cashier that was actually making the line slow. "But Arlina, how is that?" You may ask. Every interaction she kept asking and trying to convince someone to open open an Ulta Credit card. I figured she wasn't normally like this because a manager was just standing there watching each of her interactions slowly and carefully. Never the mind this manager can see that her pressure to make her staff get credit card sign ups for her bonus check was causing a huge line. She didn't even bother to help or open a register to check people out so the line wouldn't be so long. I really feel for retail employees. Not only do they get screamed at for stuff out of their control but some of them have managers that micromanage and watch you all shift to see if you see a credit card. read more

I had dye boxed my hair and it was all patchy. From the moment I walked in I was helped and worked me. I had to be out by a certain time and knew the conditions of my hair. They more then deliver. I had green hair and I wanted blue. They worked me on time and in my budget. I go to this location ONLY because my hair stylist is there. The salon and her service is impeccable. The store itself is a major disappointment. Today - I was one of 7 or 8 customers in line to pay for salon services and some hair products. One cashier - slow as molasses- had customer repeat same info about 6 times - other employees unpacking boxes watching the line of customers grow. This review is for the Benefit Brow Bar only! I scheduled an appointment to get my eyebrows tinted and waxed. I got there a little early which was no biggie because I wanted to shop around and I needed a new brow pencil and I was gonna get my husband some cologne for our anniversary coming up. I had an appointment with Liz and she was with a client when I arrived so my sister and I were just looking around and getting the things we wanted. Liz asked if I needed any help and I told her I was just waiting for my appointment. (I did not think I was being rude because she was in an active conversation with her client.) So it was my turn and I told Liz that I wanted a dark brown and she responds with "I think it will be to dark and that you should go with the medium brown" I tell her that the medium brown is to light and I would like it darker and she responds with this service is optional. I was in shocked because she said it rudely. Then she says "I didn't mean to be rude" and I respond "well you were" and she states that I wasn't very friendly when I walked up. And my sister asked how was she not friendly? And she put down her things down and said she was going to get her manager. Her Manager walks up and states that Liz is uncomfortable doing the service because I was rude. We explained to "Yvette?" What happened and she offers to reschedule me and give me a discount. But I decline because like I told her I wasn't rude. But I shouldn't be denied a color I obviously want and I'm not gonna stand to be talked to like Liz talked to me. I didn't get loud with Liz. I didn't call her any names. I told her what I wanted and I think that she should have gave me that because I'm paying for the service and it's my body and my choice right? That's just like if I walked into a hair salon and asked for a trim on my long hair and the stylist says no I think you would look better with short hair. No stylist would do that and then tell their customer that their service is optional. I will not be back to this Ulta. I'm still in disbelief I was spoke to like that and that's not acceptable at all. It's hard enough for me to treat myself and feel good about it because I'm a mother to 5. It's not an easy decision for me to decide I'm gonna spend money on myself but I was looking forward to this. Yes to some it's just brows but it makes me feel good about myself. So thank you Liz for treating me the way you did because you made my decision not to use Benefit Brow Bar ever again. I understand the corona has made things very difficult and ulta is offering curve side pick up. I asked for a small perfume sample so i could smell it and make several purchases if that was the one. Employee was kinda rude saying the store doesnt have samples of perfumes. Umm Hello ulta has a Sample for mostly everything. If you cant just say you cant. I asked if she just couldnt or didnt have any and Said both. Just tell me you cant or that or lazy dont lie. Yal missed out on a large sale. No different in bringing out a quick sample then bringing out a purchase not like there is a line or anything. read more

I visited the salon last week, when I showed up the stylist I had an appointment with did not show up for work. The had a different stylist do my hair and it turned out terrible. I asked for low maintenance bayalage and got very high maintenance all blonde hair. I do not recommend getting any services done here. read more

DO NOT GET YOU HAIR DONE HERE!! my mother had a hair appointment today at 5 she just got home from her appointment and it's 10:00pm right now. The lady who was doing her hair has only been doing hair for 3 weeks there and is still fairly new to doing hair. THIS IS NOT HER FAULT btw. my mother wanted an all over color but wanted to keep some highlights in her hair. The lady told my mother she told her managers not to schedule her all over colors cause she's super slow and doesn have much experience doing it. Her managers and the ladies at the front desk were incredibly rude to her and the pro colorist acted aggrieved and like she didn't want to help the lady when she was asking questions on what to do. the poor lady was a nervous reck. my mom wasn't able to get her hair cut or styled cause she didn't get done till 9:45. The hair isn't what she wanted it looks terrible. By far the worst hair experience we have ever had. read more

I had the WORST blowout of my life at this Ulta location, when it first opened. Over an hour later, a lot of hair was still piled on top of my head, wet. My hair is coarse and she had used no serum, no styling products, stating there was no "one thing" that would work with thick, coarse hair. (Hello, ever heard of PM Super Skinny? You should; the store stocks it!) In frustration, I took the dryer from the "stylist", dried it enough to get home, and left. While finishing at home, the first thing that struck me was that my hair was still dirty. The second thing was that what she had spent over an hour styling was a frizz bomb. It was too late for me to wash my hair and start over, so I dried and flat ironed it as it was. I complained to corporate, and they gave me a gift card. I walked into the store in hopes of finding a gift for my sister pretty easily, but as usual, that wasn't the case: So I tried to look for help from an employee who wasn't occupied. I found a couple employees as I was about to speak whom made eye contact with me, looked away then asked someone else if they needed help. Now, mind you I wasn't dressed looking like a million dollars, but that shouldn't matter. I have more than enough to shop at this store daily, but just because someone isn't dressed to 'shop' (if that's even a thing) doesn't mean they should not be helped because the employee thinks they won't buy anything. I smiled back at the two employees who gave me eye contact and attempted to speak but both looked away quickly to find someone else to help instead. Since I received no help from the employees, I figured I didn't need to shop at a store that wouldn't help people that were dressed/looked like me. This had me pretty upset to be honest as I know my wife and sister love this store, but I have to explain to them of how I had a bad experience at this location (which is the closest at the moment) and they will have to settle with another store for their future gifts. read more

I have been there 3 times since they have opened. The first time to get my hair colored turned out brassy in the front. The second time I left there with soaking wet hair and orange hair only to be told to return the next day so someone can fix it. The 3rd time when my stylist fixed my hair was the only time I have been satisfied with the person at the salon. read more
