I had a brow appointment scheduled, the first one I've ever done with them, and when I arrived they had me wait 10 minutes. Then a woman came out and said she was running 20 minutes behind and would be with me soon, which meant I was now waiting a total of 30 minutes. Annoying, but I was already there, so I stayed. Then the 30 minutes passed exactly, and instead of her coming back, a different woman walked up and said that the original person wouldn't be able to do me after all, but she could take me instead... except it would be another 20 minutes. I was like, why tell me 20 minutes if it wasn't even going to be her and it wasn't even accurate? By then it was getting late, and I had to drive two hours after the appointment, so it just ended up feeling super frustrating and like my time wasn't respected at all. read more

First time at this Ulta Beauty location on Washington Park, La Quinta. I did online purchase for store pick up due to a promotion I received via email. The promotion was spend $40 and receive $10 off. I decided to pick up my usual items Madison Reed hair color and Evian mineral water spray. Excellent customer service at this Ulta Beauty location. As soon as I walked in the store, I was greeted instantly and was informed someone will come to help me since the cashiers saw me walk up to the store pick up corner. The sweet lady that helped me and handed my store pick up was available within a few minutes. She asked if I needed anything else and to check out their summer products. We will definitely shop at this Ulta Beauty location again when visiting this side of town. We needed the Evian mineral water spray since it's 112 degrees here in Palm Desert. This location is also very clean and fully replenished. Great to know about this location as this will now be added to our store pick visit list for Palm Desert. read more

Went shopping at Ulta today for about my 5th time, and I immediately remembered why I don't enjoy it. The blasé attitude of the staff is a major turnoff, as they seem to look at you with dread if you approach them for help. I actually went into the store twice today; first to shop for a mascara primer. No one offered to help me, which was OK. I was not impressed with the haphazard display of the cosmetics, with many of the lines missing a vast quantity of products that were entirely sold out, and others knocked over making the displays look a mess. When I checked out, there was no one ahead of me and the two young women at the cash register did their best to ignore me and make me wait until they felt like looking up. I'm so not impressed by sales clerks that act like they are holier than thou. I had sampled a perfume and after leaving the store to shop next door, decided I wanted to purchase the perfume and returned to buy it. Seeing that it was locked behind glass, I approached a sales clerk for help who had ear buds in and she did not look me in the eye when I asked if she could retrieve the perfume for me. I went to pay for the $175 perfume and encountered the same sales clerk, who repeatedly asked me for my personal information 'because our policy won't allow you to return it unless you provide it.' They wanted my phone number and email address, and when I wouldn't provide them, they asked for my full name and zip code. I didn't appreciate that. The staff there just gives me the ick. read more

First of all..Ignore the baseless negative reviews! You need to judge for yourselves this store and salon! I have been going to this Ulta for 8 yrs and never had a bad experience not one bad attitude or seen it! I want to share with you my reason for writing now. I tried their salon today. I have been looking for a great colorist, not average, but outstanding and the photos here show Lisa's results are pretty miraculous! I booked an appt for a color and highlights. On-line easy peasy no deposit required! Nice! Lisa is professional and knows color. She listens to you and confirms what you want. Has an assistant, but does the work on you! Have you selected and paid for a stylist who uses an assistant than has them do the work on you while they work on someone else? That is why I left those overpriced places that touch your hair then turn you over. Lisa gets to work makes sure you're comfortable and doesn't try to sell you on any add-ons and sticks with just what you signed up for. You can always get her recommendations, but for my first time I did want to stick to what I selected and Lisa did that. She's amazing! I'm thrilled with the outcome and the people that work in the salon are nice they work as a team it was a very nice experience! Lisa blow-dried my hair and curled it something I noticed other salons don't do is curl your hair after blow drying it! Bonus points!! Lisa did an amazing job! I highly recommend her. You won't be disappointed and you won't break the bank. I shopped after my hair appt and the gal at the register between 4 and 4:30 today was what you want representing your store. There was a line forming and she was the only one up front while I confused things because I was going to do the charge card for the discount but changed it and she didn't budge on her customer service! Patience, kind and complimentary. I included a tip for Lisa but realized later in my rushing myself at the register that I should've given more. This store is not inclusive of neurodivergent people, including those with autism, even if you are at curbside pick up. The employees are aggressive and actually threw a curbside order into the car because they were being aggressive with my husband who has autism. When I called to have my roots done, the receptionist told me the price is $66 which includes color, wash and blow dry. When it came time to blow dry my hair, I told the stylist that I use a round brush on my hair. She told me that she couldn't use a brush, because that would be a blow out and cost $22 dollars more. She called her manager over, Lisa with her cowboy hat and an attitude. I told her I was told I was getting a blow dry, and didn't understand why the stylist couldn't use a brush. She replied a blow dry is done with the hands and blow out is with a brush, and cost $22 more. I have never heard anything so ridiculous in my life. I have been to many Ulta's and none of them practices this switch and bait. And if this is their practice they use, they should tell you on the phone when you call for an appointment. When I asked to speak to another manager, this Lisa told me that I won't win!!!!! What kind of customer service is that! I will never use their hair service in La Quinta again!!!!!! :( I am so sad.. came here with high expectations because i used to get my hair done at Ulta in Texas. I came with a girl named Carmen. I showed the picture of the kind of hair color I wanted & she didn't get me there... also, my hair was very long and she said she'd trim a bit of the damaged ends maybe 2-3incbes and I got my hair chopped from all angles and now I look so silly. It's embarrassing to have to come to work & I am not happy. I guess you live & you learn, right? ‍ can't wait for it to grow back out. Will be going to a different location for my hair next time. Also, she left the bleach on way too long because now all my hair is stiff and damaged. I paid $435 for all of this. I am EXTREMELY regretful. I want to cry every day I look in the mirror. read more

I would have given them no stars. I want to Ulta on 8/29/24 with my children looking for looking for a that was a part of the 21 days of beauty . I arrived at the store around 4:05 ish. i found three of the items but couldn't find two walk around the store properly like 6 times or more. i noticed that all the employees were either on their phones or huddle up talking. There was one employee having a conversation on her phone in one of the middle aisles. As I walked around, I asked several employees for help and got ignored. on my last and final attempt as I walked around the store on final time I said Over ten employees at the store working and not one can help me find what am looking for!!!!. I just left my items. I never noticed or seen any manager or supervisors. I did ask the cashier in the front of the store to speak to a manager. The cashier looked at me as if she didn't know what a manger was. I told her do you have a supervisor on duty? She than said I don't know if we have either. Than I told her once's you figure who that is please tell them, that theres no point in having so many employees working if they can't provide customer service. This location has the worst customer service. Am never going again. I would rather go out of my way to drive to Palm Desert than to go to the La Quinta location. read more

As you will see, I do not write reviews very often. Now, it's about time!! I have been going to the Ulta Salon at Desert Crossing Palm Desert since they opened in 2011. I started with Lucia Flores, who is now one of the top stylists in the country (for several years now). She is wonderful....she knows all the ins and outs about hair for both women and men in every way imaginable. It's hard to believe it's been almost 15 yrs.. Thanking Ulta for the great service Lucia provides: she is kind, patient, a great listener, smart, thoughtful, funny and the best ever when it comes to hair! Always on schedule too. My husband was curious and after scheduling an appointment a few years ago.....he was impressed and is very happy with her service. Employees are polite and so helpful as well. THANK YOU! read more

I continue to stand there for about another minute without being acknowledged at all whatsoever. I put my products down and I walked out the store. Still no acknowledgment. Will go to El Paseo- was trying to save myself a drive. The money isn't the issue- customer service is. I'll pay double somewhere else to be treated nicely before I would pay half as much to be treated like shit. So I left and I went to Walgreens. I got my mascara and I will never return to this Ulta. I'm definitely not the type to complain, I've worked in retail for years and know how it is. However; I was trying to make a purchase, signs everywhere said "Buy 1 get 1 50% off" but it wasn't ringing up correctly. The manager asked me to show her, as we walked back there we literally caught a sales associate "red handed" removing every single sign...... it's not the 50% I'm upset about, it's the fact I COULD HEAR THEM SAYING TO REMOVE THE SIGNS ON THEIR WALKIE TALKIES, WALKING UP A GIRL REMOVING EVERY SINGLE 50% OFF BANNER, and the manager trying to convince me I was reading the sign wrong. Only exclusions are "kits and clearance" and my items were neither. It truly isn't the 50% I'm concerned about (it's $8), it's the fact that they were literally whispering to each other, literally catching an associate was removing all the sale signs, and the manager confirming that "even though the date is valid there's nothing I can do".
