I mostly come in the evening to avoid crowds and the cashier that checked me out this evening was so pleasant, well spoken, down to earth and very easy to talk to. Ulta Beauty took my "razor wolfcut" vision and turned it into "accidentally walked into a Great Clips" reality. The hair stylist ignored every reference photo (were the pictures not visible... or just inconvenient?). She used only scissors (when I explicitly said no blunt ends--reading is hard, huh?). I got a refund (silent admission of guilt). Now spending my time/money to fix their "work." To Ulta Beauty: Maybe update your name to "Mediocre At Best Beauty"? Just a thought! This is a nice Ulta and well stocked. I was searching for an Innersense Beauty conditioner, and according to Ulta.com, this was the only location in the area that had it in stock. When I arrived, I immediately located the brand, but the conditioner I wanted was not on the shelf. I was pretty disappointed and annoyed thinking I drove so far to find out the only product I wanted was sold out. I looked up and noticed a shelf in the middle of the floor with many more bottles of Innersense products, and there it was! Que applause. It's really hard for me to get in and out of this store without grabbing something else that caught my eye. Really, it's like a candy store for adults , but one that sells makeup. So many popular brands available. And don't get me started on the mini sized products they display near the register. The associate who checked me out was super friendly! And genuinely nice. Stopped in here with my daughter who was able to find precisely what she needed. Me? I wandered and wandered. I don't know much about cosmetics, but I can certainly recognize a well organized store with a tremendous variety of products. HORRIBLE WORK, ULTA HAIR SALON, WAVERLEY, CHARLOTTE. When I visit a salon I have my hair roots touched up, blond hair cut in layers and blown dry. In my first and only visit to Ulta Beauty in Waverley, after having just moved to Charlotte, the root touch up was done totally wrong, in a very dark brown tone, which I pointed out, at the start, looked way too dark, but hairdresser insisted on completing it nonetheless, resulting in a pronounced 2 layer tonality-- ugly inch of dark brown hair at scalp, attached to blond hair. Haircut was not good quality either. When I called store manager the next day to complain I was told I could have it repaired by Sam, the male hairdresser there, who, when I called for an appointment, would only give me a Friday evening appointment. read more

Reviewing specifically for the MAC counter in this Ulta, though the rest of the store also always meets expectations as well. This was my second time going to this MAC for an application with Alina. The first was for a 60 minute lesson for my sister in preparation for her wedding day. I've always been hesitant about counter applications, worried that the artists may try to overdo it and make you look way too made up. Alina eased those worries, doing an awesome job listening to my sister and respecting the look she was going for, while also gently nudging her in some subtly more adventurous ways than her normal everyday look. She also was great at talking through her techniques and products as she was working to help me take great notes for future use. We both learned a ton in that hour-long session. Because we had such a great experience, I decided to book my own appointment for a 60 minute application before a work event a few months later. Alina did not disappoint, once again doing an amazing job (including the best freehand winged eye I've ever seen) and making me feel gorgeous. I ended up buying way more than I intended, but that Sin lipstick is just to die for. Also, if you buy nothing else, buy the Prep+Prime Lip base, you will be doing yourself the ultimate favor. My very dark lipstick stayed on for 14 hours, no smudging or feathering, and my lips felt incredibly soft and not at all sticky the whole time. I'm straight up in love. So happy I booked this session and can't wait to hopefully see Alina again for another session before my next big event! read more

However, today upon walking through the store and walking around the floor attendant immediately followed me not giving me the opportunity to shop. As a person of color it burns me up because we have jobs and aren't looking to steal. It makes you feel discriminated and like you don't belong in Ulta or in the Cotswold area. Because I needed assistance with selecting a color, I had to get into the checkout line and wait my turn as she walked away to replace products. I love Ulta and being able to come in a pick between high end brands and drugstore. But I do not love this Ulta. AT ALL. Every single time I'm in this store Claudette, the manager (I think) follows me around the store like have "I'm stealing come follow me" written on my forehead. For the record, never stolen anything in my entire life. So why start now? Not only does she follow me around the store, but she is so damn condescending and disrespectful!! It's honestly disgusting. I'm a licensed cosmetologist, and I work at Drybar in SouthPark. Recently, It Cosmetics and Drybar did a collaboration with a mascara. So what did I do? I came into buy it, because mascara is the one thing I cannot go without. I walk in with another woman behind me, she's spoken too, but I'm not. Then after Claudette realizing I'm in the store she drops what she's doing and doesn't even try to hide the fact that she's following me. Lol this store is full of airheads. It's ladies preoccupied with watching themselves walk around in the mirrors and texting on their phone. I was not greeted, helped, or interacted with and I spent 30 minutes there. I approached one lady (old, larger, dark hair right past the shoulders, HEAVY makeup) and asked for a sunscreen over 50 SPF, she led me to a $50 SPF 30 and walked away. I found a Neutrogena 60 SPF before checkout tucked away in a corner.. for $14.. Overall they're not helpful, they act inconvenienced, they give off terrible energy. THEY DONT WANT ANY BLACK FOLKS HERE!!!! Everyone here was very rude to me. I walked in and got no welcome and they even avoided eye contact with me. Multiple workers kindly welcomed the white girl who entered behind me and even helped her find things when she didn't ask. No one offered to help or while i checked out asked if i found every thing okay. the area is fairly white so i was a tad bit uncomfortable but the staff made it so much worse. In a world full of Sephora girls, I am an Ulta girl. Have been and always will be. When I walk into Ulta, I get giddy from the white lights in the store and beauty products as far as the eye can see. They have many brands of makeup ranging from cheaper ones like Loreal, Maybelline, Cover Girl to higher quality ones like Benefit, Bare Minerals, Urban Decay plus Ulta has their own brand of makeup and run specials on it all the time (their lip liner and nail polishes are absolutely fantastic!) They also have a friggin sweet fragrance selection and often offer a free gift with purchase. Ulta offers a rewards program also so you should definitely sign up for it and start earning free gifts with your every day purchases and they send coupons in the mail that are good for a few weeks. What rocks even more though is that they take manufacturer coupons so you can really save some dough when you do some research on whats on sale and what coupons you have. read more

I went to make a purchase of a certain brand that had a bogo 1/2 off Sale. I spent a lot of time making sure that I read what was included and not. I get to the register and the discount wasn't half off. I mentioned the higher prices and she called for assistance. I offered to show the tags I read for the sale. The manager (?) Michelle came and when I showed her that each item I wanted was individually labeled for a sale, she huffed away and wouldn't let me explain. She said "We'll take care of it so you can go and have a nice day." Her tone was very harsh and she sounded annoyed about me asking questions about the sale. If I could give zero stars, I would. This Ulta location's customer service is the WORST. I had two instances, today and on my birthday when the cashier could not scan my coupon so instead of trying, they told me the coupon was invalid. This was FALSE because I went to the Rivergate store the same day and they scanned my 20% coupon on the app with zero issues. Today (12-11-21) Not only did the cashier not bother to ask for assistance or type in the coupon code, she flat out insisted it it was invalid and then LIED and said my items were not eligible for the 20% off, which , again was a lie. I know how the coupon work and I know when to use them Then she kept trying to grab my phone from me and when I told her not to touch my phone screen, she lied AGAIN and said I can't use the coupon and said maybe I should apply for the credit card in order to get the 20% off. I will not step foot inside this location EVER, until they get some sense and get some staff that knows what they are doing. I left all of my purchases on the counter and left the store. I called the store on Memorial Rd in Oklahoma City to ask if they had ColourPop So Juicy in Princess Cut. After waiting on hold for over 4 minutes I was told, "No." I went into the store within the next 30 minutes to see if i could find another product simliar...One of the first things i saw when i walked in was a ColourPop display with the exact product I was told i'd have to order online. Mind you, this display i'm speaking of was directly in front of the register area. From the register if she would have turned her head barely to the right and looked up she would have seen it.
