After helping my BESTIE find her foundation match, and an amazing primer, we headed over so I could check out that lip plumping lip liner. These are fantastic!! They go so good with my IL MAKIAGE lip plumping gloss!! It was so feeling tingly!!! Checking out was a breeze. We ended up in the store after it closed and the gorgeous blonde ringing is up wasn't hurrying us along like some others have done before. She was bubbly, smiley, and funny and even helped us find a better match. We really liked her personality.... and oh my gosh.. did she just say she just went to homecoming?? I had such an amazing experience with Brianna!! I came in really stressed after a bad bang haircut and she was incredibly kind, patient, and reassuring from the moment I walked in. She totally fixed my bangs and make them look so much better, and also went out of her way to make sure I was okay when I started feeling lightheaded. Came in to return an item about a month ago and the woman that helped me had a very snarky, condescending attitude about me returning it. This isn't my first bad experience with customer service from Ulta. Same thing, returning and got rude service but at the one in Roseville about a year ago. Secondly, at a third store I asked if they had "Black Girl Sunscreen" and showed my old one. The lady said "Ulta doesn't carry that." Well I looked around the store after looking for a similar product and found it! I have been purchasing that product from Ulta for at least a year and half now so they had definitely had it long enough she should have known. And that was a manager that didn't know what's in her own store. So I just have to say that I feel my experiences at all Ultas are pretty universal with poor customer service. So I'll just go to Sephora from now on, Ive yet to have a bed experience with them. read more

I had the worst hair experience EVER!!! My hair was bleached and burnt as well as my skin. Unfortunately the hairdresser I had there before this had to leave. Her replacement didn't care, she was cleaning up and left my hair to over-process. It's hard to say anything even though I thought it was too long. I never like to tell someone how to do their job. This time I should have. I just got my hair done a few days ago by someone much more professional. She could not believe how bad my hair was. It will now take a long time to fix. read more

Very bad costumer service. They are very dishonest. I came to exchanges a product and they didn't give us back 16$. The relation between a cashier and a customer is built on trust. DO NOT TRUST the staff here If come to this location please double check ur receipts again because they might do this to u. This place does not deserve one star. I got a haircut by Laura in December. I have thick, straight hair that needs to be undercut so I don't look like a Dutch boy. She said she could do that, but then took 20 minutes giving me the "special" hair wash and 10 minutes to cut it...no undercut, and not word out of her. I hope it was just a bad day for her. I WON'T be returning, and I've had to deal with this haircut until I get it cut at the Vineyard, where they give you a great haircut for a similar price. read more

The whole experience with this store has been great, even considering pandemic, they have made sure I leave with a smile. One thing to consider, Ulta prices are on the higher end. Spacious store, always stocked, easy to read prices and advertised sales. Excellent signage. Ulta is a beauty enthusiasts haven. This being said, there is a feeling of profiling when you come in. The cashiers greet you very quickly, but instead of follow up, asking if you need help, they just follow YOU. I have tried their salon for your basic haircut, I was unimpressed. They charge competitive pricing with high end salons, but don't treat you as if you are in a high end salon. Pretentious all around and worth avoiding. They do not support local companies either, only their highly visible corporate clients...this might explain the creepy profiling. Not sure why this Ulta gets such a low grade. I prefer it to most others since it has a good selection of brands and most importantly, is always neat and tidy. I'm almost embarrassed to admit, but I rarely shop in my hometown, but I will usually make the effort to visit this location rather go to locations closer to work. Next time I asked a question to one of the people that were obviously working there and got a very snotty arrogant answer, walked out. Exceptional customer service! Shout out to those girls who stayed and waited for me a few minutes after closing. I was at the other store in Rocklin and they were out of some thing and I called Auburn and they had it and I told the person on the phone I would be there in 20 minutes. She forgot that they closed a little earlier or didn't notice the time and by the time I got there they were closed. However the girls were waiting at the locked door for me and let me in to get the sought after Christmas items that were sold out everywhere else. I cannot believe how I was treated at the Ulta in Auburn by the store manager Christina... I got an incredible facial from Debbie, had awesome customer service from Michelle and Tana... but when I called the store to let them know that they did not charge me for my facial and was just charged for my makeup. The store manager blamed me for not paying and said that if I don't come to the store before 9pm when it closes...she will have to report me. My mouth dropped!!! Really?! The RUDEST "sales people" I have ever met in my life. I worked in cosmetics at a very well known San Francisco department store. I never, ever treated my customers like these Ulta Girls do. My daughter had points on her card to use towards a purchase. I had to ask the rude cashier to apply them and she was haughty about it!!!! Not to mention at Christmas time I purchased a $50 Gift Card, and the sales girl handed back the incorrect one. I spent two weeks on the phone and online straightening it out. Thankfully the two ladies I dealt with were extra nice and very kind. I will NEVER shop in this Ulta again. A word to the sales girls: Just because you work in a cosmetic store, doesn't make you pretty! Beauty is only skin deep. My unsolicited advice to Ulta is invest Training in your managers, teach them how to handle difficult situations with a smile. Arrived at 10.55 June 7th, 2015 with wet freshly washed hair for a blow out appointment. I chose the style from the pictures on the walls - it was my wedding anniversary and I was en route to a wedding in Nevada City. I received a nice style but it took an hour and was achieved with a flat iron. It wasn't much different than the style I achieve myself and can accomplish in far less time. I thought a blow out was done with brushes and a hair dryer. I also really didn't want to listen to someone's relationship problems particularly as this was my 46th anniversary and a happy day. I honestly didn't expect it to take longer than approximately 30 minutes. Fortunately it wasn't very hot as my husband was waiting in the car. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHAT SO EVER..... I came in today because they had the color of foundation I wanted at this location. As i walked it, a guy kind of greeted us and I told him that I had something on hold... he went to look for it.. opened the cabinet and was just like " yeah we have it" and just looked at me... i said "ok I guess I will walk around first" went to look for another option for foundation in case I found something else I liked better. I took two of the Tarte colors and I asked if I can try the colors on and someone just pointed to the back counter and said " the sponges are over there" didnt ask if I needed any help .. my co worker and I were trying some foundation on and then all of a sudden there are 3 workers right behind us just chit chatting... about their schedules and how one manager or another employee keeps asking what her schedule was and how they SHOULD KNOW and WHY THEY KEEP asking... all while my co worker and I were asking each other our opinions on if the color matched.. then they went on about what alcoholic beverage they liked drinking... NEVER ONCE asking if we were ok and if we needed ANY HELP... I kept going back and forth trying to figure out the right color... and the one girl just kept "moving out of my way" as I reached. Worst costumer service by a girl with short pink hair, i went with my sisters and boyfriend looking for a lipstick and some eyeshadows and she was by my side all the time but in a uncomfortable way, she was mean with my sister asking her "for what you came in, if your not buying?". As I was looking through the boxes to find my shade a women briskly approached and said they weren't open. I apologized saying the door was open so I assumed they were open. I decided to get my eyebrows done at the benefit brow bar as part of a promotion they had and honestly my brows look messy and uneven. The person who did my brows left a weird red patch of skin that hurts underneath my eyebrow that obviously will take some time to heal. I am disappointed with the look of them but mostly with the painful circle on my eyelid (maybe from the wax being left on too long?) and the long wait time. It was an annoying experience and I would recommend just going to a salon with professional waxers/eyebrow specialists. read more
