This is generally the in-store Ulta that I visit. I find it to be clean and pretty organized, well stocked with most of the brands I normally use. I recently visited and was talking with Lisalee about an issue I'd had with an online order and not receiving one of my items in it, first time that's ever happened after years of a being a Diamond rewards member. Well she took it completely on herself to help me fix the issue! She didn't have to do that, and I was so appreciative to correct the issue with a live person, and such a sweet one at that. And while Lisalee is the cream of the crop, the entire team there is friendly, helpful, and honestly just a pleasure to chat with about brands. I will continue to frequent this store with any purchases I want to do in person, this is the kind of customer service which makes Ulta such a pleasure to shop at. Thank you team! read more

An Estée Lauder rep came up to me at the store yesterday and asked "Can I help you? Are you looking for a concealer?" Well, I wasn't but that comment made me feel that I needed one! read more

I went in today to look for a foundation with more coverage and was so impressed with the Chanel that Elaine hooked me up with. I always have great luck coming here to get help with colors and matching shades. read more

My daughter attends University of Michigan. She scheduled an appointment with a stylist via their website 2 weeks ahead of time. Received 3 confirmation text messages for her appointment. Stylist called her just as she was getting on the bus. To inform her that the fee was an additional $50 to what was listed on the website. As if it were $10. Unfortunately my daughter had to cancel the appointment and now has to scramble and figure out what to do with her hair. Just letting everyone know to call after scheduling appointment to ensure that prices listed on the website are actually correct. Because apparently that the new protocol. read more

Staff at both Ann Arbor locations are hit or miss, sometimes nice and helpful and other times they can be of no use to your experience. I did have a know it all fragrance worker that was knowledgeable though super rude and know it all. If you know what you want and have coupons handy you should be fine. read more

Horrendous customer service! Rude and they don't honor advertised promotion on shelves unless you give them your phone number.

Oksana was so helpful! I came in with my mom looking for a new makeup routine and she was able to help us find all the right products and tools. Above and beyond! read more

Like many, I haven't exactly been putting on much make-up or getting fancy the last few months. But eventually my necessities like concealer, moisturizer, and CC cream ran low. So I had to replenish. I had planned on just buying via Ulta's website but they said curbside pick up was available and everything I was looking for was in stock at my local store so I decided to opt for that. Pulled up up front, gave them a ring, and their masked up employee cam out with my order. It was packaged nice with a cute little sticker of gratitude. Easy as can be! It may not be easy to do this if you need to see a product in person and test it on your skin (matching foundations, testing eye shadow shades, etc might be difficult) but if there's something you reliably buy and need refilled, this curbside option is great! read more

After my experience at this particular Ulta, I will never again shop there nor will I recommend it to anyone, especially People of Color. I visited this store on Thursday, March 30, 2023. When I entered the store, there was one customer checking out. As I walked to the isle to select my purchases, out of nowhere, I heard a lot of running behind me. When I turned to see what the commotion was, to my surprise, I discovered that it was directed at me. A female salesperson, and a male, plainclothes security guard were running and attempting to hide behind displays while watching me. For what? With me being THE ONLY customer in the store, was it really necessary to be on high alert and this aggressive to watch a customer? It was offensive, hurtful and uncalled for, at best. There appears to be a history of this within the company and especially at the Ann Arbor locations. As I read about similar experiences others have had at various Ulta locations, it is apparent that the employees need Cultural Competency Training, Sensitivity Training and perhaps even Security Training. I am appalled that this behavior is practiced, accepted and encouraged by the company, toward any customer, but it is apparent that it standard practice toward People of Color. As a result of this experience, I have contacted the company, via email, to make them aware of these practices and to also let them know that it continues to happen ( since I noticed that others have experienced similar, unfair treatment). I hope Ulta will take the initiative to address this issue within their organization. read more

I'm not one to make a fuss about my hair, but I do like having someone who knows how to cut it well. After finding a great person at Ulta's other location (before she unexpectedly moved to another salon), I gave the other location a try. Located on the West Side of Ann Arbor in a bustling shopping center, it's easy to reach from I-94 and M-24 alike. I got there a little early for my appointment and was offered water, coffee, or tea while I waited. My stylist greeted me, asked what I would like done that day, and then expertly got to work. I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders as the split ends of hair got snipped away and new layers emerged. While she worked we chatted pleasantly, and it was apparent that she lived what she did. When she was done cutting and styling, she added a little texturizing spray that kept me smelling like the beach all afternoon long, which was a nice finishing touch! If you're looking for a new salon -- even if you have tried the other Ulta location -- this one is definitely worth a visit! read more

Chelsea made me feel right at home while having my color done. She's personable and great at building a rapport. Will return here.

I go to my eyebrow specialist, AMBER, off North Maple in Ann Arbor to have my brows done and I get EXACTLY what I want every time. Her techniques are priceless. She is such a sweet person, she listens to your concerns and makes you feel comfortable while in the chair. If you are picky, like me, about my stylist than I promise you, you will really like Amber. read more

Love it....feel like a kid in a candy store~ greeted by attentive staff, never cloying! Best ULTA I've ever been to... and trust me- I've been around. The atmosphere is clean and new, they carry brands that you won't find in other ulta's.. (MAC! CHANEL BEAUTY!) The salon is constantly busy, which in the ulta world is a huge plus.. (you can always tell how good an ulta store is based on salon traffic (in my opinion)) if the community trusts and feels comfortable at that location, their salon is typically packed, and employee attitudes are positive) aka- this stems from great management. The entire team is so helpful + supportive. They don't hover- are not sharks when it comes to selling. They don't work on commission so their suggestions are REAL. They genuinely want to help you find exactly what you are looking for. I've also noticed that this store is very knowledgable (ingredients, application technique..etc). Of course, I end up going home with more than what I went in for, but that's just because there is always something new trending that I need to have in my life! So happy with this location! I will go out of my way just to visit this store. read more

terrible customer service for POC women, was not greeted upon entry and I was browsing for 15/20 mins and no one working the floor approached asking if i needed any assistance, they just kept looking at me. If I wasn't in a time crunch I wouldn't have purchased from this location. read more

Love this location and how big the store is but the best part by far is the incredible employees- especially Oxanna! Such a sweet hearted person- gives great product advice and has such a fun personality. Treated me like a guest in her home and made me feel so welcome. This will be my go to Ulta location from now on thanks to her! read more

I went there today, Saturday May 25, 2019, and was pleasantly surprised. There was a friendly greeting when I arrived (which of course scared me, as I thought they were going to ask me to try some product) and nothing more. Later as I was looking at items, a really nice younger lady (who was with child) let me know she was available if I had any questions, which I did and she was very helpful without being pushy! The whole experience from entering to exiting this Ulta was great, all due to their staff being amazing! Not pushy but not indifferent, friendly but not fake. Wow! I may be a little less timid of brick and mortar beauty stores in the future. At least I will gladly revisit this particular Ulta. read more

I had visited the Ulta on Eisenhower a few times several years ago. However, I was not impressed with their product line, the extent of it. I just visited their store on Maple Road which I think they call a premier store. It's an amazing store, full of product and great customer service. Everybody was helpful, friendly, and concerned about the customer. Because of my positive experience with them, Janessa (sp?) specifically, I returned. She had recommended that I get some help from Elaine in the Chanel section. Oh my goodness Elaine was amazing and an absolute phenomenal make up artist. A friend was with me, and after Elaine helped me, totally redid my make up, my friend decided to have her face done. the results were amazing and my friend was transformed into a beautiful All-American looking girl. I love their help, their readiness to assist the customer in anyway, their attentiveness to our questions and desires. And if you're not happy with the product, you can return it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this store, and specifically Janessa and Elaine. They were off the charts helpful! read more

So much better that the store it replaced on Eisenhower! They have Kylie Cosmetics, Morphe, Mac, Elf, Wet n Wild Everything Ulta claimed to carry, that the Eisenhower location lacked. The new location is also conveniently located for me. read more

I booked an eyebrow appointment here over the phone, and I always get my eyebrows done at benefit brow bars so I trust they do a good job. Well when I get to the ulta brow bar they say no one is working the bar today and they took me back to the salon saying my appointment is there. The lady at the salon took off half of one of my eyebrows...the manager did not make me pay however afterwards she says "next time ask for the people who work the brow bar". I'm very upset that they allow salon workers to do eyebrows if they are clearly not trained to do them and that the manager did not just tell me to come back when the brow bar was open if they aren't confident in the salon workers skills. Don't want this happening to anyone else!! read more

This is a beautiful newer Ulta store with a more complete selection of products than some other stores. The staff are very friendly, welcoming, helpful, and not pushy. It's just a happy feel good place. The stylists in the salon are very talented and it is clear they love what they do. Sarah does my hair-color and cut. My hair is healthier than its ever been. I get compliments on it often. She is knowledgeable and delightful. I highly recommend the store and Sarah! read more

Very disappointed in the new store. I went to there previous location for years but I will not be coming here anymore. Twice now I've checked availability of item I want online and twice have got there to find they don't carry brand anymore then they try to sell you brand they replaced it with which is more costly. read more
