The haircut I got was good but they charge you on how long your butt is in the chair! My hair was already short and I got another pixi cut. The stylist kept walking away to help people buying salon products, come back and snip snip some more than walk away. That haircut cost me $75 and I stupidly gave they stylists a tip because I didn't want to look cheap. So after spending $100 for a pixi cut I spent at least 30 minutes in my car crying before I was able to drive. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE PRICE BEFORE YOUR A$$ SITS IN THE CHAIR! read more

Awful customer service and untrained associates and poor follow through. I went in for help with an order that they sent to an old address they had in the system, that the associate DID NOT VERIFY before taking my payment and finishing the transaction and became upset with me for supposedly changing the address on her! I had moved from this address 8 years ago, and did know the address was still showing up their system because she never asked me! Management allowed her to get an attitude with me as they told me what I could do to fix it. Why should I fix their mistake? After waiting almost an hour there, and no solution. I had to leave but they took my information and told me they would call me back after they spoke to corporate and fixed my order. It has been 2 full days and I have yet to hear anything from them. I'm sure the new residents are enjoying the expensive makeup from ULTA I paid for that shipped out 2 days ago. Because I did receive an email that it shipped that same day. She did a bleach wash which didn't do anything and then a toner. she was so clueless she kept asking me what to do. My hair looked worse than it did when i went in. Request that Ulta Beauty Corporate review the operations of this store. Cost data cannot be the only factor that should be reviewed in the operation of this franchise location. This data is misleading due to being in Amarillo and the nearest second location is in Ulta is in Lubbock. The appearance of the store is lacking and feels unsanitary. I have been in this store a few times with my spouse and every time it feels that they never finished stocking items from the last time I was there shopping. Every box is abandoned by employees as you watch them having conversations in the middle of the store. I am all for the improvement of employee morale through positive conservation, however, can this be accomplished while products are being stocked? These packages in the middle of the floor and bottom drawers open only create trip hazards for customers. Improvement in the cleanliness of the tester/sample products is needed with great haste. There are more than enough employees in this establishment to be assigned to one area and have responsibility for that area to clean and organize. Walkarounds and management follow-up on the cleanliness of the samples and the general appearance of these areas needs to be accomplished. Your prices are outrageous why aren't your standards? I have one idea as to why your standards are low; your sales numbers are high so management must think that the customers love coming and nothing needs to change. I think this is a misguided approach and customers only come here because it's the only location... If you are reading this review and you have tried some of the samples can you relate to the unsanitary conditions that may be present? Salon area: Cell phone usage in the back of the solan area needs to be managed. If you ever have to use the restroom after waiting in checkout for an hour, I'll get to check out later in this review, then you might be blessed with learning someone's family history. The doors are thin I can hear them can they hear me? Scary thought... Also, why isn't their anybody getting there hair cut, dyed, etc... Is the management of this store hurting this side of the business as well? Makes you wonder... Checking out, oh my, bring a lunch or snack and you might not starve before you get done. Four registers with only two active and 20 customers in line. While the remainder of the staff is talking in the middle of the store, not stocking or being productive. Then a manager comes and gets on a register walking past the hoard of employees without saying a word... Don't be scared of your employees and have some managerial courage. In conclusion, Amarillo deserves better from you as a corporation. I really hope, other than Yelpers, Ulta reads this review and takes action. I've been in Ulta occasionally when I can't find what I'm looking for somewhere else. Every time I go in, I spend 15 to 20 minutes trying to find someone to help me. If I do happen to find someone to help me, the moment I turn around their gone. There was only three customers in the store including myself and I found several girls that were working to stock shelves. In a 2 minute period I ended up with 2 separate girls standing there acting like they were going to help me. I asked if they could open a $150.00 drying brush to look at it for size and weight of product. It was not on display. She just looked at me and said No. To say the least I was not happy. I walked out and went elsewhere and got what I needed. There was another customer listening to the whole thing. She to walked out after complaining to me about how fed up with Ulta she was for the way we both were treated. read more

Came here to try and get my hair fixed from a previous salons mistake and they did amazing. I had Caidence Windham and she took my awful red hair to an absolutely beautiful brown. Even when the first thing didn't work she tried another thing and made sure I liked everything she did. She was extremely nice and had a lot of knowledge. All the other stylist seemed very nice and were very helpful. Definitely will be going back. Better than any "high class" salon in town. read more

I have been in multiple Ultas and this one wasn't much different than most. Clean store filled with more makeup and products than you could ever imagine! I will say the employees were above the average though. Bareminerals released a new product that I wanted to sample and the sales lady actually walked me through the new colors, applied it in a small area, and provided me with a sample so I can try before I purchase it. Even the cashier was enjoying her job! If you can, save yourself the hassle and download the app. This will save any coupons or promotions they have going on. read more

Was asked to stand outside with my 2 daughters until people came out to keep the number of customers at 25. I don't mind waiting but 7 people came out and we went to enter and the rude employee at the door told us I could come in with one of my daughters but the other needed to wait outside. When I questioned why 7 came out but 3 couldn't enter she told me she had allowed extra to enter prior to our arrival but we just need to wait now. Highly disappointed with how we were treated. I was minding my own business, shopping around as I had a gift card to use. I was walking around and an employee kept yelling "miss, miss, miss" mind you they were about 20ft away from me. When I finally turned around they yelled, "do you need anything?" It was very rude and to say I was aggravated was and understatement. I also do not appreciate someone assuming my gender. I went in for a simple haircut. I had Long hair, probably boob length. I left with hair that was choppy. There is literally pieces that are SO short I can't even straighten them!!! Came to return something one night, and got the worst customer service I've had in a loooong time. The cashier, Olivia, didn't look at me once, got so upset when I told her I needed to make a return, and was so disrespectful. She looked SO mad the entire time, and barely said a word. She tried to give me store credit, because I didn't have a receipt, (I really thought I liked the product, but the more I wore it the less I liked it :/ ) but I've worked at a big beauty store and I know that's not the only thing you can do with a return. She asked another employee and she said she can put it back on my card with no problem. I work retail, and no matter what kind of mood I'm in, I do my best to greet customers with a smile, and treat them well. Even when they're rude, I do my best. The entire time, I was nice to her, had a smile on my face and said please and thank you. Honestly kinda in shock how rude and disrespectful she was. Oh well, I'll just shop online from now on. ALSO, the store is always a mess, and every time I go in the employees talk more with each other than to customers. I am used to shopping at department stores or at Sephora for my make-up. This area of Texas doesn't offer much in terms of that so I find myself at Ulta. They do have the brands I normally wear like Smashbox and Bare Minerals. No Mac though. :( If you sign up for there free club, you get coupons in the mail. I like that a lot. I just bought a Chi flat iron that was on sale plus I had my coupon for 20% off. Can't beat that! Definitely sign up so that you can save money on expensive make-up and products. I've lowered there overall score for my bad experience in there salon. I went in for a waxing and came out bleeding. It's the only time that's ever happened. They said it was my skin. I said I've been getting waxed for over ten year so why all of the sudden would I start bleeding. In any case, they didn't make me pay for the service, so I guess that's kind of good. read more

I usually have a good experience here however recently when I went to the salon I did not have a good experience. They overcharge for their services for one. I had to go to this ulta as I am traveling and needed my hair done on the go. Never again. They also don't tell you how much your service(s) will cost upfront as all salons should do. They also do things to your hair you don't ask for and then charge you for it "because it looks better". Ok well I didn't ask you to do that...To my surprise I had to pay over $200 plus tip at the very end.... I don't think that's a way to keep your customers. What was amazing was that is one of the lower level stylists. Can't imagine what the "upper level" stylists cost. The displays and samples are too scary to touch. It's just trashy. Often times things are out of stock. This is a review of the brow bar inside the ulta store. the store overall is fine & is perfect for picking up things you don't want to wait for from sephora. I am an avid brow waxer & visit ulta at least twice per month {every 2 weeks} I used to see Amber but she recently went to another salon so I've been switching between Brandy & CeCe for the past few months. I have been giong to the brow bar for over 2 years & have had mostly pleasant experiences & been happy with my brows. My most recent vist was terrible. I was 15 minutes late for my appointment due to leaving work late & traffic {no excuse, I know!} I am normally on time for my brow appointments so this was not my norm. When I walked in, I apologized for being so late. For the record, I would have been completely fine with rescheduling or waiting until they finished with someone else, etc. I was late & I am ok with that. I am not at all ok with the way I was treated due to being late. CeCe was very short with me & waxed my brows very abruptly. She did not speak to me at all {I'm a frequent customer & we always chat} She yanked the strips off & did not even get the stray hairs. When she handed me the mirror after she finished, I asked if she could clean up the strays that were left & she said "You said you didn't want them any thinner, so...." It normally takes 15-20 minutes for them to do my brows. From start to finish it was 7 minutes. After she finsihed, I said "If you needed me to reschedule because I was late, you should have just told me" she said, "Well, you got them waxed didn't you?" This is the worst I have ever been treated, especially a place that I am regular customer. I am a platinum member at ulta & spent $1100 last year alone at their store on brows, etc. I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect to be treated respectfully. I have referred at least 8 people to the brow bar & have recently sent them to another salon due to my bad experience. In one appointment, my loyalty to the brow bar was completely ruined. I switched to another salon the very next day & will not be back. I'm extremely disappointed & hope that they will re-evaluate how they handle late arrivals & things of that nature in the future. read more

Showed up for said appointment and was told by the manager that there must have been a mistake because they don't offer appointments for that time. He offered no apology whatsoever. I came in without much time, knowing what I needed. I was obviously searching for a particular brand. No one asked if I needed help. There were three people standing around talking, but I wasn't sure they were Ulta employees because nobody was wearing a badge or a smock that said Ulta. Finally I asked if anyone worked there and a woman took me to where my item was, or should have been. She didn't stay to help me but went back to talk. My product was not in stock, and there were several items from this brand (Pur) not in stock. This lack of concern for customers has never happened to me in any other Ulta I have ever shopped in. I am very pleased to announce that I was immediately contacted by Ulta Guest Service today. They actually told ME to email them yesterday but I was unable to get around to doing that. I guess they actually pursued ME to help ME! Cassandra went above and beyond giving me the recompense. AND as good customer service goes, she explained some of the rules involved in the rewards program that I was completely unaware of. I am very satisfied. Still sad that I had to go to that length and years of annoyance...and they still don't have that great of customer service at the store....BUT I am satisfied for now. read more

In regards to the beauty salon- My experience was about a year ago, but I have constantly emailed Ulta for some sort of rectification and have received nothing. Not even an apology. I could go on and on with my story as I have to many people through this year. However, I will keep it short for everyone reading the review. I will also preface by saying; my family and I were long time shoppers at Ulta and none of us have been back. Hair experience- asked for a light brown dye job and trim. She suggested highlights with the dye job and I didn't really think anything of that at that point. 4.5 hours and $350 later, I left very unhappy. The employees complained about their boss the whole time (until she came in for her shift). I was honestly, no joke, left with shampoo in my hair and my neck titled backward for at least 5 minutes until I finally got up and wandered around trying to find someone. They couldn't find my girl and someone else rinsed the shampoo out of my hair. My hair came out darker than my natural brunette color. I started crying in the parking lot because it was such a horrible experience. I should not have paid the $350 but I just wanted to get out of there. She charged me $120 for the highlights I didn't even go in there for nor could see through the dark brown color she dyed my hair. So, there's the experience in a nutshell. I called and relayed my whole experience to the manager, who said she couldn't do anything about it. I asked for the district manager and left messages for her to no avail. I emailed the company and they referred me back to the district manager. I called her again, left a message, she returned my call, I missed it and called her back and never actually got in touch with her. Horrible, horrible, horrible. I know Sephora doesn't do hair, but I go to them for all my Philosophy and Bare Minerals etc now. I DO NOT and my family DOES NOT support Ulta at all. They do not care about their consumers at all. By the way, I now live in Austin and ONLY shop Sephora. I've driven by several Ultas and will continue to do so. read more

I went in the store with my email that stated I get a 10 miracle product with ANY purchase. So I browsed and found some facial base I was about to run out of and got into line. The cashier, unsure of her name, kept stating she had just been promoted to the customers ahead of me. When it was my turn, I presented my make up and email. She stated I had to purchase $20 worth even though the email says ANY purchase. She wouldn't honor the email neither would she call for assistance. If I could, I would not give this Ulta any stars. I wish I could get a hold of corporate to let them know whomever is managing this ulta needs to get some training!!!! First off this store is dirty. the shelves are always strewn about. I used to go in, and "Try" to purchase nyx lipsticks etc... and several other products, not to mention the Anastasia Beverley Hills products. Good luck finding anything in stock. One time I needed the brow pencils and went in three times in a couple of weeks and they were always out. Not to mention the display case for Anastasia was a total mess and looked empty, after the third time I finally asked one of the girls that are never busy, and are always chatting amongst them selves, if they were discontinuing that line. She said: "No, we're just going to have a whole new display. (lie), it is still the same! I finally decided, I spent more time, and gas waiting on products, that are always out of stock that I created an account on- line with Nordstrom. Decided I'd share my long over due, absolutely, horrific, hair experience, do not ever go to a hairstylist named Daniel Frescas!! He completely ruined my hair. First showed him a picture & he said that shade of blonde was achievable but that 2 sessions would be needed, & then changed it to 1 session, & everything he said was a contradiction & lies. He even blatantly used profanity & talked so extremely demeaning to me. I was literally scared to leave the seat. So after he starting bleaching my hair, I could tell he was in a bad mood & just slaps on the bleach, as if he was in a major hurry, & then put my head under the dryer, & it was under there for so long my ears were burning!! He proceeded to take me to the shampoo bowl, & use whatever horrible toner or products he had & brought me back to the chair to get blow dryed & I was mortified, my once beautiful long chocolate brunette hair, was a HORRIBLE UGLY shade of yellow & orange. As he proceeded to say "damn I'm such a good hairstylist", (because he is the most egotistical, cocky hairstylist I know) meanwhile I'm not saying a word because I'm still shocked by how horrific it looks, he could tell that I wasn't happy by my silence. So then he proceeded to basically yell at me saying he should have never taken me on as a client, that I would never be happy w his work. Meanwhile, my HAIR IS BURNT YELLOW & ORANGE!!! Then he finally cools down & says that he agrees that it wasn't anything like the picture I showed him & is about to go another round BLEACHING MY HAIR TWICE IN ONCE SESSION AFTER BLOW DRYING IT OUT!!! & I'm like, "please no, let's not bleach it again, I don't mind going back to brown" & then he proceeds with his ugly attitude & without my consent starts slapping the bleach all over my hair AGAIN, meanwhile I'm still mortified & scared to even leave my seat. So we head back to the dryer & he tells me that the reason he came out that color was because we didn't leave it under the dryer long enough....YEA RIGHT!! Then we head to shampoo bowl AGAIN, but he uses a diff toner or product. & Wouldn't you be surprised, MY HAIR LOOKS JUST AS BAD....just blonder BUT W THOUSANDS OF DIFFERENT SHADES OF BLONDE....looked like a complete train wreck & then proceeds to attempt to make it look better by blow drying it out...& uses this OLD rusty lookin STRAIGHTENER to curl my hair!! So BLEACHED ONE, left under dryer that my ears burn, blow dryed, BLEACHED TWICE, left under dryer longer & my ears are still burning & he just tells me "beauty is pain" like he could care less, & then BLOW DRYS & CURLS my hair with a nasty, rusty straightener!! I was thinking oh my goodness, my hair is going to fall out & be totally fried! & then he trims up my hair...later I realized HE COULD NOT EVEN cut my hair right!! SUPER UNEVEN, looks like a five year old could have cut it better, & as for the bleach, I, w no hair experience, would have done a better job than that. Absolutely horrible, TRAUMATIZING experience!! I had to go to someone else to have it fixed, which came out beautifully & this lady was super sweet unlike his EXTREMELY RUDE, CONDESCENDING, DEPLORABLE self. Literally she pointed out everything he did wrong, down to the trim, like COME ON!! Couldn't even get a trim right, soooo UNEVEN, I spent weeks n ball caps trying to hide it until I could get it fixed. My hair smelled like chemicals & burned for a solid week even after washing!! I would never wish this experience on my enemy. The biggest mistake I made was going to a hairstylist that apparently had been doing hair for years & making himself sound soooo knowledgeable...oh & how could I forget to mention how many times he told me "to shut the F%*! Up" for no reason. So in the end I wasted a lot of money, & my beautiful long brown HAIR is RUINED...oh but the cherry on top was how I got spoken to in a horrible DEMEANING, DISRESPECTFUL WAY! Worst. Mistake. Ever. Going. To. Him! Ladies, beware of the condescending DANIEL FRESCAS! Found a job in & am now living in Houston, but thought I'd share my Amarillo experience.
