I ordered ski pants and was very happy when they arrived only 3 days after ordering them, and I'm in the US. They fit perfect, material feels good, and I can't wait to try them out! I'm absolutely furious and I've had a horrendous experience shopping with Ulla Popkin. I'd give them ZERO stars everywhere if I could. Firstly, items that were available to buy on their website, were not charged or sent with an order as apparently they were out of stock, but I was given zero notice of that, and had to contact customer service to find out why I hadn't been charged for or sent the item. But then those items were magically still in stock on the website and I was able to order separately, costing me shipping again for what should have been in my previous order. That then set a president that I didn't know if my orders had gone through, and I ended up with two of the same items ordered, and when immediately asking for one to be cancelled, there was a delay in reply to eventually be told it's shipped and would have to return it if I didn't want it, despite I wasn't notified of it actually shipping for another few days. When they arrived, the clothes them selves are poor quality and shape for the price they are. When I end up returning items (which I ALSO had to pay for return shipping), their customer service was absolutely abysmal and just stopped replying when no refunds were actually issued. I had to go through paypal to get my money back for the items returned. To add insult to injury when I left a bad review on one item, they then more than halved the price from £85 which I paid IN FULL, to £42. THEN they started sending me e-mails and letters telling them I OWED them money for the returns! When trying to explain all the above mentioned to them, they didn't even respond to my e-mails and kept sending the same letter and e-mails telling me to pay them or they'll be sending debt collectors. All for £27.95 which was for a returned item! Never shopping with them again, disgusting garbage service, below average clothes at best and vulturous practices. I've never had such a outrageously bad experience and probably the only company I've ever ended up hating. read more

As a plus sized shopper, I have always had luck at Ulla Popken. Lately, I have had fits buying from Avenue (used to be great) and Woman Within. The clothes there are made in China and after a few washing, will pill. Fast Forward to a recent order from Ulla Polpken. I recieved several tops, skirts and pants. I didn't have to send NYTHING back (a shopping first) and loved the quality. The clothing was made in Greece & Turkey- did not receive anything from China. More excited to see the clothes AFTER the wash. The fibers did not twist, seams stayed straight after drying. The feel is quality, and in this plus sized market, I am thrilled to buy these clothes. read more

This is my new favorite site! I read the reviews and was hesitant to order from them but jumped in when there was a sale. I couldn't be happier! I normally return 50% or more from Avenue or Ellos, but I kept 75% of my first order and 100% of my second. They arrived quickly via FedEx and were fashionable. They have plenty of selection in cotton and cotton blends rather than just polyester monsters that you see on other sites (as someone who lives in a hot and humid climate, breathability is paramount). The billing information on their website and the one they send you by email is FALSE and even though the payment is executed they will die on the hill claiming it is not and constantly changing their IBAN number and the amount you have to pay. PURE SCAM! I had to pay my 400.- bill twice (with the late payment fees off because why not at this point); that's absolutely insane. The clothes are somewhat ok, but this definitely isn't worth all the trouble and money. uhhhh and by the way customer service cannot do anything for you because they've no way to contact anyone (like any other department basically) and writing to those departments is useless because they won't bother to answer. I bought a blouse in May and returned it the same month, using their label. This is now late July, and I have yet to get the promised refund after calling 4 times. First call: I would see the refund within 2 business days; second call: look for it within a day or two; third call: they are awaiting confirmation of receipt from the shipping department and that department doesn't work on weekends; fourth call: they sent communication to the accounts department and are waiting to hear from them. Do yourself a favor and bypass this company if you want to save yourself a lot of stress because if you return an item and need your money refunded, it's going to be an uphill battle. I have ordered from Ulla Popken for years. I loved their clothes and the fit was always spot on. I had never had the experience of returning anything to them. Recently, I have discovered that the return process of this company alone will cause me to stop doing business with them ever again. No product is worth the pain of the expensive and lengthy ordeal of returning something to Ulla Popken. It has been almost one month since I returned two items and I have yet to receive a credit. Moreover, I have learned (as have reviewers here) that the expense of returning an item is very, very expensive, including the cost of the initial mailing. Ulla Popken has lost a good customer in me. I have ordered from Ulla Popken in the distant past, but I will not order from them again. They don't stand behind their products and are misleading about exchanges and returns. I purchased a pair of pants 8 months ago. Yesterday, the drawstring snapped and the way the pants are made, there isn't any way to repair that. Their website is dishonest. It implies that they do exchanges and you can use the same discount offer on an exchange as the original purchase. This is not true. They do not do exchanges, only returns and will not honor the original discount code. The website also pretends it has a chat function-- it does not. They do not provide any instructions on how to return items and their customer service just repeats the same canned words over and over. I came over to Ulla Popken when Silhouettes disappeared off the web. I had hoped to find the same quality I was accustomed to that Silhouettes had offered. At first, Ulla Popken seem to fill in those shoes, but the last few years the quality of their merchandise is appalling. The materials they use are so thin and nasty, yet you pay top price for a blouse. The sizing is off so you never know what is going to fit until you try it on. To make matters worse, they do not post customer reviews. Now why would a store not post customer reviews? Seriously, since this place chooses to have China make their clothing it's not surprising that the quality and sizing of their clothing reflects that fact. read more

I use to order Ulla Popken from other country, when I lived in Europe, and quality has been good. My first order from ullapopken.us has a pretty poor quality oversized wrinkled coat, that has not anything common with a picture from catalogue. I returned the item almost a months ago, but $ still did not credited back ( less shipping fee they will keep). Very disappointed. Hate to say that, but this is, probably, my worst shopping experience for almost ten years I live in U.S. I definitely never shop there again. P.S. This company is the absolute worst. They double charged me and after weeks and weeks of trying to get a refund and them never calling back. They would tell you the problem was solved and it never was. No one saw in the computer what the previous person had done and accounting never would call. I finally complained to BBB. Had to file a dispute with my bank to get back the money they overcharged me. I then ended up returning the item I bought and had to wait again for a refund that never came. That's when I contacted FB. Of course, that got an immediate response. They only care how they look, not if they are actually helping a customer. They said they would refund all monies (including shipping) then did not and lied to BBB about leaving a message and giving a full refund. They say one thing on the phone and do another. I have ordered from Ulla Popken for 4 or 5 years. I don't consider them "ultra-high-end" at all, which is how they're characterized on this Yelp site. I shop carefully and read the descriptions closely. I try to only order cotton pieces, since I prefer those. Even with that, I often over-order, knowing that I will like some of the items and not others. After trying everything on, I usually send back 1/3 to 1/2 of what I ordered. I never had the slightest problem with a return. In fact, I don't remember ever having to contact the company, though I may have had to contact them electronically for return authorization. This is no different than my experience with virtually any of the catalog companies. I'm always startled to see many negative reviews for a company with which I've had no problems, so wrote this so my own experience is reflected here. read more

I ordered two pieces of merchandise using their web ordering process. after selecting the products I wanted I entered a promotional code for 30% off. The web accepted this and discounted the order by $40+ USD. I was sent a confirmation email showing the original order total and then the discounted order total. The next day my credit card got charged got charged the original order total and not the discounted amount. When I called customer service at their 800-245-8552 number I got 2 very rude CS people, ne a male and the other a female. They both told me that their system accepted the promo code and allowed the discount but that it in fact should not have and I had to pay the original amount. I called again and got another CSR (but I was told there are only 3 people that take these calls). I asked for a manager and was told it was not possible, originally not available and then finally that he only worked until 10 EST, call back tomorrow, early AM. I would never order again and I am going t dispute with my credit card company, AMEX, I am sure they will take care of this and fix the overcharge situation. One star for having some "okay" clothing items, but I sent back the one thing I ordered. BEWARE of their return policy! When you order, this is not mentioned; they assume you have read about it in their catalog or online, though I have read their shipping info online and did not see this part mentioned: shipping to you is "free" as long as you keep the item. If you return it, the "how to return an item" slip says that $7.95 will be deducted from the original charge and the balance credited back to your bank account. Not exactly correct: they will then charge you for both the TO and FROM charges, and it is not $7.95 both ways; they charged me a total of $20.90 to return this single item!!! Ugh! I hate this company with a passion!!! I've been trying to get a refund for an item I purchased in February since March! They are very slow to respond to emails, and when they do, they tell me that I'm not entitled to a refund even though: 1. I paid for the item and received confirmation from Paypal, Ulla Popken and my bank 2, I returned the item with the tags still on it and in the same condition I received it 3. Ulla Popken sent an email confirming they received their merchandise back and would be issuing a refund. 4. They issued a refund but the notification email went to an address I rarely check so Paypal returned the refund after it was not claimed after 30 days. 5. I contacted Ulla Popken and asked them to re-issue the refund, and now they are claiming that Paypal says my payment was declined so I actually never paid for the item. This is complete bullshit. In my Paypal account, the transaction was completed (NOT declined), and the charge cleared my bank. I sent a snapshot of my statement which clearly show that a payment was made to Ulla Popken via Paypal, and they STILL claim that the payment was declined. I'm going to see if my bank will be able to get my money back because these jerks are not at all helpful. read more

And yet again I received another catalog in the mail yesterday. I really blows my mind that this company is intent on wasting money by constantly snailing me catalogs that I DON'T want. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Never buy from this company! I ordered 4 items from them online and the order ended up being $124 and some change. I had a coupon code for $25 off an order over $100. Well, I got my order and one item was utter crap and i decided to return the item. The item was $49.90. I was refunded $17.90. I called customer service (the were exceedingly unhelpful), to ask why I was only refunded $17.90. The proceeded to tell me that since I returned the shirt for $49.90, my order was no longer over $100. so they charged me $25, and the return shipping fee. I tried to tell them that the first transaction was a separate transaction and short changing me $25 is bad business practice. I said the way to return the item was to figure out the percentage the item cost from the previous transaction and change only the return fees. If they would have done that they would have deducted 20% from the $49.90 and the $7.95 for shipping, like all of the American companies do, storefront and online. I should have had about a $30.00 refund. But as I said before I was only refunded $17.90. A total RIPOFF! They have the worst customer service and even worse business practices. I don't understand it. I started ordering from Ulla Popken years ago, and for the first three years, their things were pretty nice. Sizing was variable, but quality was mostly okay, and I still have things I purchased from them. Their web site was iffy and often wouldn't let me sign in, and they didn't tend to answer emails, but overall, okay. Their catalogs seemed to be geared to middle-aged women and their things were of good taste. Then they started to go downhill. Their catalogs (I get them approximately twice a week) showed dreary, dark, cheap-looking clothes on tacky-looking models. I just wish I could get myself taken off their mailing list. read more

I'd give this a -100 if I could. DON'T waste your time. I happened on this company and ordered. A few hours later I got a very strange confirmation notice which caused me to do some digging. I found a lot of negative reviews. I called the company to cancel because I don't want to support this kind of company and I don't want to deal with the hassle. The agent was in GERMANY. She said the order had already been processed. I told her I hadn't received a shipping confirmation. She said she'd leave a note for her supervisor. The next day I called again. Same thing. A few hours later I got a USPS shipping confirmation but the tracking number was bogus and still is days later. Confirmed with USPS that its not a USPS shipping number. They haven't shipped a thing. They told me to return it when I receive it. Now they are saying to refuse delivery (which I told them I planned on doing from the get go) and once they receive it back they'll refund me. NO WAY. What will happen is they will say they never received it and never return my money. I have zero intention of being ripped off from these people. I've reported them to the MN and DE Attorney Generals offices and I plan to dispute this on my credit card (currently charge is pending). I bet they leave it pending for max (30 days) hoping I forget about it. I won't. Once that's done I will cancel my card number as I can't trust this company at all. STAY AWAY. read more
