ALERT: Deceptive practices! Jarrod Ulery the owner, performed a small electrical job at the place of business I manage. He was not up front about his charges even when asked point blank in person. He first tried to charge for 4 hours of work at $75 per hour. The actual job took less than an hour. When I confronted him about it, he changed it to 3.5 hours. Gee thanks :-( . So he didn't have the basic equipment needed for the job with him, even though he had an idea what to expect before coming to the job site. But, hey, I get it, I'm not an electrician, so maybe this wasn't such a common part, but the parts were standard. He then drove a 1 hour round trip to get the parts, but could have gone to a hardware store closer to get what was needed. When I received the bill, I saw that he charged his labor rate of $75 per hour to drive an hour and a half to and from the job site. This after he told me he doesn't add on a trip charge. Uhhh, seems to me to be a hefty trip charge, or was it just his highly skilled driving abilities that costed $150. In the end, the job is done and this small business was price gouged. Going forward, we will not hire him again, and I will always get estimates in writing. FYI, Ulery Electric was a match for the job on the HomeAdvisor.com search.
