Taking appointments and serving one customer at a time inside

Thank you for the mini lesson Smiley and for helping get my first ukulele! Smiley has also been very helpful in offering recommendations based on the research I've done. It's sometimes hard to decide on the brand and size by watching YouTube videos and doing online research. So I appreciated that Ukulele Source was taking in appointments and serving one customer at a time. Smiley played some of the recommendations and I got to listen to the beautiful music and picked my favorite. The only thing I wished that the ukulele was cleaned before receiving it. Now I'm letting my uke air out before I start playing it. Looking forward to learning my first musical instrument.

    Ohana solid mahogany ukulele.

This is THE BEST place to go if you are interested in buying a ukulele. They have many selections, for every budget. We wanted to buy a beginner model that produces good sound but won't break the bank. Smiley, the owner, walked us through the different options - first, he explained the sizes - soprano, concert, tenor, etc., Then he explained the difference between all solid wood construction vs a wood top with laminate body. We were able to try them out one by one and pick the one with the sound we liked the best in our price range. There was no pressure to buy and he was balanced in his recommendations based on our interest and budget. And he let us take our time with each instrument before we decided. It is a small mom and pop shop so when there is more than one customer at a time, you may have to wait your turn. The owners are also very low key and gave us the space to look around until we were ready to ask for help, which I appreciated. So I disagree with some of the negative reviews here. We were so pleased with the selections and the help we received, we bought a solid wood Ohana ukulele, plus a nice case to protect it. Come support a local business if you are in the market for a ukulele, instead of looking in the store and then buying online on Amazon. You won't be disappointed. We need more shops like this one.

The range I saw was from sale items at 49.99 up to 200+, they have a good, moderate amount of choices at each level, with different brands and accompanying acessories! My ukelele is a soprano, a great beginner ukelele I was practicing with, got it for $75 with tax and a carrying bag included in my purchase, if I remember correctly, tag price was $69.99 I did ask if there was something similar to a brand/type of ukelele I started my practice with but I was then getting sold onto the more expensive pieces that I didn't have experience with and didn't ask for so that was a miss for me. Wish I got more of a relevant recommendation but the workers were sweet, they let us browse by ourselves for a good amount of time before stepping in (which good for me because I needed time to think, compare, and browse). When we went, there were a handful of other customers inside the store, it's located in a small shopping center but the store is bigger inside than it appears on the outside. The parking situation was just okay, not bad, could use a tad bit more space, we went ~1p the parking lot was full minus 2-3 spots but I noticed cars came and went from the time we got there until we left so it seems like there's a couple spots free at any given time due to the traffic coming in and out for small errands. Lots of instruments and accessories to be found inside and the workers seem to be happy to help find what is needed! Pretty well organized inside to find what you need on your own though, I was able to find the ukeleles quickly.
