I want to say that Darrell does have something special here where the emphasis in group classes is to have fun while learning music. Playing games is an integrate part of the equation. Often times kids are shy and are not use to the format of group piano/voice/guitar classes. What we often do is have a group lesson where we introduce new theory, technique, or fun musical activity and then we give students a little one-on-one time because students develop at their own pace. For the keyboard classes, the student will learn to work on their own and pracise/work on their work books. If you are having difficulties reaching Darrell, it's best to stop in and talk to him if email hasn't gotten to him. It's a very popular school with afterschool programs, his TV show, and two locations, so sometimes it takes time to get back to you. The teachers are compassionate and everyone has been trained in music. Darrell is one of the best teachers and has a passion for teaching and playing piano. If you start playing a blues riff, you can expect to her him improvising to it!

There was no sound proof in between the rooms at all. A few months ago, I stopped this place in person hoping to get a hold of someone to talk to, unfortunately didn't happen. I've called and emailed them, poor communication in general. They either responded a couple of weeks later or stopped responding. I had scheduled my son stopped by for a trial class yesterday. I waited there for him on site. I went to check on him a couple of times during the trial class, initially they were on the piano, but I don't for how long because when I checked on him again, there were four kids sitting on the floor playing UNO! The instructor had his headphones on playing piano and giving instructions. He seemed to be teaching another person virtually. Yes their tuition is cheap for group lessons, but it seems like it's a waste of time for the student. I looked for an alternative place.

I heard from one of my friends about "speech level singing" and have always been curious as to what it meant and what I could potentially be missing in my technique. The first thing you notice when you met Liezl is her charisma and passion. She is very upbeat and eager to genuinely help people find their voice. She heard my vocals and was instantly able to prescribe scales and practice drills that catered to my specific needs. In 3months time, Liezl and the Pnc family has helped me develop my lower range, free up tension in my higher range, and even find new layers to my vocal style. What I like most about Liezl beyond her technical skills is that she is an artist herself. She understands the struggle, fear and anxiety that comes with pursuing your dreams and encourages you to overcome yours.

I took lessons at two locations, the former small corner place in Seafood city and a new location next to Allen Court in Milpitas. Although I only relented the basics and chords for a couple of months, I managed to regain piano skills my own way. By learning the songs I like and not the ones restricted by the book. Sure the price is a little much since it is for musical lessons. Regardless, the people here do take care of you as long as you practice on your end. I can say that because I can now play 6 songs from various games and learning more at this time.

Getting a young child to practice consistently can be a struggle, but Ms. Yaoyao's constant encouragement and patience have made all the difference. Thanks to her, he has made incredible progress over the past 18 months! Beyond the fantastic teaching, the studio itself is top-notch. They offer classes for a variety of instruments in both 1:1 and group settings to fit different learning styles. A huge highlight for us is that they host recitals and concerts in professional auditoriums at least twice a year, which gives the kids a wonderful opportunity to build confidence and showcase their hard work.
