Last minute Wednesday night plans led to Ukiah.. it has a relaxed upscale vibe- great for date night, drinks with friends or even a family night. Great patio next to the water with sofas for a cosy setup. Service was friendly and helpful. The menu was a mix of Japanese and barbecue but not too vast. Nice options for vegetarians as well. We ordered lemon drop martini ( yum), coconut cake( super yum). For appetizers soshito peppers were okay, pork dumplings were good if not exceptional. I got the barbecue shrimp appetizer portion for my main dish and absolutely loved it. DH got baby back ribs and seemed to enjoy it.. Will surely return.

Location is great, the service is pretty quick, but food had pros and cons. Overall the menu is less Asian and more American, but the quality was pretty good. Their rib eye was cooked nicely and sliced into pieces so you can pick with sticks. Make sure you get the coconut cake, it's a must order.

Another fantastic visit to Ukiah. This time I tried some different things, like the grilled half chicken and the veggie ramen. Both were delicious; I loved the heat in the chicken as a the veggie ramen was a hot bowl of savoriness. I stuck with the avocado salad because it's just that good: super refreshing and fresh flavors. And, like before, the service was top notch through and through. This place is great and definitely worth a visit.

    - Came here late at night after a show since it's one of the few restaurants still open at that hour - Got the kata ana and pineapple express. The kata ana was too sour and lacked in presentation when compared to the pineapple express - Everything is made to share, tapas style - The crispy rice, oysters, soft crab bao, shishito peppers and prime ribeye were good - Bok choy was ok - Ordered a side of the japanese milk bread to try and it was neither soft nor fluffy. All the fluffy insides were gone leaving a very dry, hard shell. - The coconut cake stole the show! It's their home made recipe and HUGE. Comes with ice cream on the side - The restaurant sits along the water so the views during the day must be beautiful - Service was great - Several parking garages in the neighborhood

OMGeeeeeeee The lemon cello martini ! Let's warn you beware it will sneak up on you. But so worth it - delicious ! We ordered a few appetizers, our server (sorry forgot her name I think starts with an L) she was AMAZING!! She constantly checked on us to make sure we were okay! Great service !! It was very packed, perfect location, easy to find and we definitely enjoyed our time. Would go back !

had an incredible dinner at Ukiah and cannot recommend it enough. From the moment we sat down, the service was attentive and seamless, making the entire evening feel special. The food was truly the star of the show. We tried a variety of dishes, including the crispy tuna rice, the hamachi crudo, and the smoked wagyu brisket, and every bite was packed with flavor. The presentation was beautiful, and you can tell a lot of thought goes into the menu. We finished with the coconut cake, which was the perfect, light end to the meal. The atmosphere is chic and sophisticated, especially with the outdoor seating by the water. If you're in Ft. Lauderdale, this is easily one of the best spots for a high-quality meal and great vibes. I'll definitely be back!

Honestly don't remember the last time a place hit all the marks for me like it did here. We originally sat outside but it started to rain harder and they were kind enough to move us in. We came on the celebration of their one year birthday of the restaurant so there were lots of reservations. Our server was very nice and staff overall have great service with our drinks never getting too low and our dirty plates never being on the table for too long. The karaage chicken with the mayo and bbq ... I'd go back just for that. We had the crispy rice with tuna which was phenomenal. The bao buns were delicious, nice & fluffy. I couldn't stop thinking about the shishito peppers, they were so perfectly grilled. Another favorite. The ribs were amazing, good size and yummy sauce. Since we were there for the celebration, we were able to take home goodie bags and take a picture on the photo booth they had there! I'm happy to have discovered their Monday happy hour until close to have a reason to go back. We had a great time and enjoyed everything we drank and ate! Hope to be back there soon.

I've been wanting to try this place since it first opened and finally got to try it out tonight on Valentine's Day. I took my mom out, who is a huge Asian food lover so we were excited to try this place out. Upon entry, we were immediately greeted by the host and confirmed we wanted an outside table. I wish I had asked to sit inside cause it was soooo windy out and a little freezing and they didn't have heaters or any kind of wind shield. I'm not the kind of person to ask to change tables after I've been sat so I toughed it out but it was slightly miserable out there for me haha. I'm not holding that against the restaurant though I know they don't control the weather, just would have been nice to have heaters or something. Moving on, once sat, it took our server a little while to greet us which was slightly annoying as the restaurant was pretty empty for Valentine's Day, but also wasn't going to let that ruin the night. We ordered our water and drinks and she gave us the run down of the place/menu and how things work. Our server was very nice and informative and friendly. As for the food, we decided to opt out of the tasting menu and just pick specific items we wanted to try and share. I like how things here come out as they're ready as it spreads the food delivery out and gives you time to eat and enjoy each item slowly. The food was all super good quality and super delicious, but I do feel some of it was a bit overpriced for what you're getting. The drinks were nice too, but personally not my favorite vibe. The vibe of the restaurant was okay. You could hear the music from the wharf the whole time, and though it wasn't loud enough to disturb your meal, it set the vibe off. They should really play louder more vibey music to try to drown the wharf out. I also don't think the vibe of the restaurant was anything crazy. It's nice just being on the river walk but other than that I didn't get crazy amazing vibes from the ambiance/decor. I did like how the bar was indoor/outdoor. All in all, I did have a good meal and time, but I don't know if I'm dying to come back or go out of my way to come back.

I visited Ukiah Japanese Smokehouse while visiting Ft. Lauderdale to see family friends. When I saw Japanese Soul Food mixed with American BBQ.. I was so excited to get to eating... The service was truly amazing from start to finish. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and so helpful with picking dishes out for us. The manager checked on us and the kitchen was quick to get dishes to our party of 5. The dining area strikes the perfect balance between stylish and comfortable, making it an ideal spot for both a special night out and a relaxed group dinner. Dark woods, contemporary mood lighting all around and an attractive base showcased indoors. I love that it's right by the city canal which is not a common scene for me back home. We went family stle which turned out to be the best decision because every dish was worth trying Karaage Chicken - The kids loved the non-spicy version, the older kids dug the spicy done. Tiger Prawns Pastrami Short Rib - wow..rich, smoky and yum Shishito Peppers Rock Shrimp - my favorite dish here. That blue cheese added was creative and made this for me. sliced Hamachi - refreshingly yum as well sweet potato with bacon bites - The most interesting and best sweet potato I've had in a bit. Chocolate Miso Cake - Great fusion and not too sweet. My foodie bff sure knows her stuff and knew I would love it here. Next visit in the area, I'll definitely swing by again to try more dishes. Cheers!

Parking was easy, with a metered lot conveniently located across the street. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and requested outdoor seating so we could enjoy the waterfront views and watch the boats pass by. The atmosphere was relaxing, scenic, and definitely one of the highlights of the experience. Our server was friendly, attentive, and had a great personality. Table snacks was a small bowl of popcorn. To start, we ordered a Pearl Bourbon Smash and a Dragon Margarita. The Bourbon Smash was so good that we ordered a second one. The Margarita wasn't my favorite, but I finished it and followed it up with a Sensei Old Fashioned. For our entrees, we ordered the Korean BBQ Bulgogi and the Korean Steak Chimicurri (spelled that way on the menu, so I'm not sure if it was intentional). The Bulgogi portion was generous, and we really wanted to love it, but unfortunately the meat arrived cold. That was disappointing, especially after being told that everything is made from scratch. My husband's entree was served about 10 minutes before mine, which wasn't ideal. Generally, guests dining together should be served at the same time. I encouraged him to start eating so his meal wouldn't get cold, but unfortunately it already was. My steak arrived hot and was cooked slightly more than the medium temperature I requested, leaning closer to medium-well. Despite that, I still enjoyed it. It was served with jasmine rice and maduros, which complemented the dish nicely. Overall, we had a lovely dining experience. The waterfront setting, pleasant service, and enjoyable cocktails made for a great outing. We would definitely consider returning, especially to combine dinner with one of the boat tours. To top it off, our server gave us a bag of cotton candy. I felt like a kid. I haven't eaten cotton candy in years

Our waiter checked in on how we were liking our meal and even turned a hot latte into iced without any problem. The outdoor patio is beautiful as it overlooks the beach right across the street. We went for breakfast which has a small but amazing menu. As a vegan myself I had to order off the "sides" portion of the menu and I ordered an English muffin and a sliced avocado - very affordable ($5 total). I also ordered the fruit platter ($10) which came with an array of yummy fruits including pear, melons, pineapple, oranges, grapes and strawberries. There was more than enough for our table of three! My daughter had the pancakes which came with a warmed jam, syrup, and whipped cream. She said they were very fluffy. My husband had the chaffles which are croissants pressed in a waffle maker. They came with the same sides as the pancakes. And again he said they were so light and fluffy. We rounded off our meal with iced lattes - mine made with oat milk - and they were outstanding. I usually do not like iced drinks but the weather called for it and I was not disappointed! Overall Takato's breakfast is A+ and the view takes it over the edge of greatness! I hope you get a chance to enjoy it as much as we did! We returned to Takato for dinner and what an amazing meal we had. My one warning is to ask about portion size as many dishes are worthy of sharing size. We ordered an array of food. My son loved the kimchi short rib tacos (2 to an order). My daughter had the duck bao and California roll - both received two thumbs up! My husband had the wagyu sliders which he thought were an appetizer but ended up being a good sized meal served with french fries. He said the burger roll was a bit dry and could have used a sauce. The fries received rave reviews. We also had the mushroom gyoza (5 to an order) and these were delicious. I had the Takato salad without cheese and it did not disappoint. It came in a big bowl with crispy tofu. And I also enjoyed the vegetable sushi which provided a light fragrant taste with a crunchy texture. Takato hits the mark on all fronts and will definitely be a place to which we return whenever we come to Ft. Lauderdale!

This is absolutely going to be a part of our rotation for top asian-fusion eats in Fort Lauderdale. Our group of 4 was quite impressed - from the warm service (shout out to Chino), beautifully plated dishes, to the flavors that hit every note from comfort to creativity. In fact, our female friend actually said while most asian restaurants we've introduced them to were very good, this place is by far the BEST of all! We started with 2 orders of grilled chicken skewers - perfectly charred, tender, and lightly sweet from the marinade, that came with a bright cucumber-tomato salad and the creamy peanut sauce that tied everything together. The Bangkok Wings topped with crunchy onions was a standout--so juicy inside. The Tom Kha soup with chicken was comfort in a bowl. Velvety coconut broth, mildly spicy with fresh herbs and mushrooms that soaked up all that flavor. For mains, the Mixed Seafood Pad Thai was just out-of-this world! That was super delish - it had the classic balance of sweet, tangy, and savory. Loved the thin, glossy and well-coated rice noodles. The Dynamite mussels was innovative. Creamy, lightly torched, topped with crispy tempura flakes, and beautifully presented. Loved the different textures in each bite. We also ordered a Four Seasons Specialty Roll which came with shrimp tempura, salmon, tuna and some type of white fish with asparagus and eel sauce. Yummo! The menu is huge and we will definitely be back to try more items. Check them out - absolutely worth a visit.

I really love this location of Phat Boy Sushi…read more It's very beautiful on the inside and the environment and ambiance is so so nice. Food: I really enjoyed my Trio roll it was full of yellow tail, tuna, and salmon, and I ordered eel sauce on the side. Service: The food came out quick, but I didn't like our waitress. She didn't speak English really well and couldn't understand us when we had questions for her. My friend ordered a side of noodles for her dish and it was literally just butter noddles and when she asked for a sauce to put on them (which she wanted in the first place) she said it was going to be an extra charge and she also didn't list any options of sauce so my friend had to come up with it off the top of her head.

We recently ate at Phat Boy Sushi and unfortunately both of us got really sick afterward…read more We shared our entrées. We ordered beef fried rice, gyoza, and pork ramen. Because we shared, it's hard to pinpoint which specific dish may have caused the issue. However, within hours of eating, we both experienced significant gastrointestinal symptoms. I personally started burping up the taste of pork ramen around 1am and have been dealing with ongoing severe stomach issues since about 2am. It's understandable that foodborne illness can sometimes be difficult to trace to one specific item, but since we shared everything and both became ill the same night, it felt important to share our experience. We hope the restaurant reviews food handling and preparation practices to prevent this from happening to others. Unfortunately, this was a very uncomfortable experience for us and we wont ever eat at this location again.
