I will try and tell you everything that we ordered, but it honestly ended up being so much that I'm not sure I can remember it all. We got the traditional Beijing Zha Jiang Mian and the presentation was gorgeous. So many colors and fresh veggies.. We also got the braised pork rice and green onion pancake. The scallion pancake was flaky and savory. I ordered five buns: pork and leek, Chinese spinach, bamboo shoots, sweet red bean, black sesame. The red bean was my favorite , but to be fair it always is. They threw in a custard bun and a tea egg for free! I had to try their milk tea as well and I really enjoyed it. It had a nice creamy earthy flavor without being too sweet. I also wanted to try one of the flats and I asked the woman working what she suggested. She said the cinnamon is their best seller and that's not something I would have chosen on my own. But I am so glad I asked her because it was absolutely delicious. It was like a dessert. I think it was actually my favorite thing of all that we ordered. The staff was so nice and helpful. They even brought the food out to our car. We had a great experience here and they definitely deserve their amazing Yelp rating!

They are apparently planning a grand opening when summer arrives. I had seen it when eating on the west end of Pearl, just east of the new expanded Hapa sushi that took over the space of two that closed in the pandemic. This space is part of one that closed. I looked through the menu and found a fruit tea that has no caffeine, a choice I medically need. It is winter melon and it seems good for today, snow on the ground but not cold or windy. I ordered it with boba and they were so fresh and soft. Perfect. When I asked for it at a lower sweetness that was on the wall poster, the staff member informed me they actually do not have control of this other than diluting it. So that is what I had her do. It still tasted great and not too sweet but it does dilute it some. Other shops apparently use a separate sweetening syrup rather a premixed solution. As another Yelp review mentioned, it is very small inside with one wall with a bench to sit for a short time. It's actually quite pretty though and the staff efficient and friendly. I am giving it a 5 because only the sweetness was a small issue but it's really a 4.5 until they expand options. So glad to have them on Pearl in such a popular block. Though it is only Winter Melon that cannot be altered this way. Other teas can be easily customized.

Alteatude - Creme Brûlée Bliss

We visited Alteatude after seeing a bunch of people walking through downtown Estes Park drinking…read moreboba from cups emblazoned with the Alteatude logo. Who says advertising doesn't work? This shop isn't like a typical modern boba shop. Instead, the interior is very reminiscent of a classic coffee shop - warm and cozy with plenty of tables and seating. I noticed tins filled with tea leaves above an espresso machine, making me believe that they brew both espresso and tea in the machine. I didn't see them making my drink though! Alteatude, 24oz, 50% Sweet ($8.80) - Starting with the good, the milk tea is pretty decent. It doesn't have the strongest tea flavor but I can tell there's a slight bit of assam fruity undertones. The bobarista told me that they use 30cc of fructose in regular drinks. I don't really know what that correspond to so I went ahead and asked for half sweet which I found to be quite pleasant. They add non dairy creamer to bulk up the drink. It's mixed well and not added in enough quantity to make the drink gritty. Surprisingly the ice level is good at full with only a couple of small chips remaining after completely cooling down. Now onto the bad. This drink comes with one topping which of course we went with the boba. Unfortunately the boba here is terrible. While I appreciate that they marinate the pearls well, making them sweet and giving them a soft sticky coating, most are extremely undercooked with pebble-like and chalky interiors. They are almost raw in the center. The pearls also stick together into larger blocks which isn't great. For some reason, some of the tapioca balls seem to be more cooked than others making me wonder if they mix boba batches together. Milk Tea Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating: 1/5 Over $10 after tax and tip for this quality of boba ehhh. Then again this is the only actual boba shop in Estes Park so there's not exactly any other choice. The staff was kind and patient (shoutout to them for answering all my many questions with grace!), and our drinks came out quickly. The shop itself is cute with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area is definitely a vibe, it's right by the water, so it has that calm, serene energy. Bonus points for the music, they were jamming! I was not expecting to hear some of the oldies they played, but I was in there catching a full vibe. Now, on to what really matters: the drinks. We ordered the: Cheesy Bee and White Peach Oolong Tea with Blueberry Hearts. Both were delicious! I'm a sucker for a creamy soft top, and the one on the Cheesy Bee was perfect--light, fluffy, and just the right contrast to the tea. My only small tweak for next time would be to adjust the sweetness level. I went with the default, but I think 75% would've hit the spot for me personally. The boba itself had a great consistency, chewy, fresh, and no complaints there. As for the peach oolong, we loved it. The blueberry hearts were not only adorable but also really fun to eat. A cute little detail that made the drink feel extra special. They also had a few snack options in the fridge by the register if you're looking to pair your drink with a bite. This seems like a great hangout spot. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

I went there for 3 separate occasions back in February. For the first time, I ordered the cheesesteak. I ordered it with grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and tomato sauce. This is the hoagie style cheesesteak that I enjoyed eating at Wawa when I lived in Florida and visiting New Jersey. The beef used wasn't prepared as cut steak, but rather the shredded beef found in Mexican food. It was still quite good. I also ordered mild chicken wings to-go, and they were delicious. For the second time, I ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, ketchup, and mustard. This is the best burger I've had out in Colorado. I preferred it over In N Out Burger and Stevens Grill in Eaton. The whole sandwich was incredibly savory. It also came with steak fries with a hint of garlic salt. For the third time, I ordered chicken wings with Caribbean jerk. I remembered having jerk chicken when I dined in Florida. This was also quite good. I also ordered an iced coffee drink, and enjoyed it. There was only one guy who worked here, and he owned the place. Because there was only one person, the food did take a little while to be prepared. However, then end result was made with quality, and the food looked like a well-crafted art project. This place also accepts all 4 major credit cards. The sales tax is only 2.9%, which is the lowest for Colorado. The prices are also reasonable. For residents in the area, I'd recommend trying this place out. I would even recommend residents from Greeley to make the drive up there. I live in Greeley, and this place is a huge upgrade in terms of taste to most of the restaurants I've eaten at there.
