We now only have one cinema left in Newport which is now Cineworld, although it was UGC Cinemas, situated over Spytty Park. There is a huge carpark for people to park in so never usually a problem with it getting to busy and not being able to find a parking space. It is just as easy to get there by bus though, even though it doesn't drop you off right outside. It always shows the latest films, outside it also shows you what films are coming out soon. You can book your tickets online if you like but otherwise can just go in and buy them there and then. There is an entertainment room as you walk in, with a dance machine and a few other arcade machine, a good room to keep you busy if you have a while to wait for your film to start. There is a bar to buy food and drink, and a sweet and ice cream section too. It is all a bit pricey though. They now have signs up to say you can't take your own food in, but I continue to do so anyway as I don't fancy paying £5 plus for a tray of 15 tortilla chips, when I could pop to the local Tescos just outside and buy a bag of Doritos hell of alot cheaper. There is a bar, serving alcohol and a seating area upstairs. The screens are quite big, obviously some smaller than others when films are just going out etc or not as popular as others. read more
