Good cinema, love the tiered seating. Bit expensive, but rather pay a bit more than having to travel to Gloucester or Bristol.

It's a nice enough place with comfortable seats and the usual expensive snacks etc....but here is…read morewhat bothers me. You're paying £8.75 per adult at peak times.....in my case a Monday evening at 5:20, right after work but before dinner for many people. So for me and my partner it's £17.50 to go to the movies. Call it £20 by the time you add one coffee that we shared. We get there on time, which means the time they say the "program starts". The display in the lobby even counts down with messages like "starts in 9 minutes" scrolling along the bottom. Then once in our seats we sit through a half an hour of advertisements. Just like television. Advertisements. 30 minutes of them. Smart phones and crap I have no interest in. There are trailers for other films after that. I think the actual film started at about 6:00. So they don't value my time at all. Unfortunately it takes me almost two hours at my day job to earn enough to go to see one film with my partner and then when I get there since they have us captive, they use that opportunity to make more money for themselves by advertising products at us for half an hour. And of course they don't tell you about it in advance. It's a surprise attack. Furthermore if you want to book seats in advance over the phone they charge you 10p a minute from BT landlines for the privilege. Unreal. I can't believe they think the average consumer is that much of a mark but evidently the general public is expected to take this stuff on the chin. OK fine enough, but don't expect any love or loyalty from me at all.

Imagine if they merged a trendy (yet decently neighborhood feeling) bar with a movie theater (and…read moreeverything was super clean)... then you get Curzon Cinema. I went here with a very tasteful theater goer to watch the all time epic about Sacramento - Lady Bird The great: - The screen! - really crisp and clear with great sound - The seats - super comfortable - The ambiance - trendy modern - super clean - The drink selection - up to date movie selection - Some of the most chipper service ever.. Why it didn't get 5 stars - we ordered truffle fries... it took about 15 minutes for maybe 13 fries... - it wasn't easy to order popcorn... yes that is a problem Great for: - watching movies with people your age - enjoying a movie with real food and alcohol - grad students - undergrad students Not great for: - high schoolers - teen girls - break ups

This is a new cinema that's opened on the top storey of the Westgate Centre in Oxford. It's a…read moresmall boutique style cinema with really big, comfy chairs that recline with lots of leg room. You can buy snacks at the ticket desk and popcorn and drinks at the bar which you bring in to the cinema. Each chair has its own mini table; conference seat style. Was rather nice to have a beer and pretzels while watching a film. A significantly nicer experience than the big cinemas. Only niggle (and why I gave 4, rather than 5 stars) was that it was incredibly hot and stuffy so some work for them to do on the air conditioning.

Frome is very lucky to have it's own local cinema, when many comparative-sized towns for miles…read morearound do not have that luxury. The small and rather old-fashioned Westway Cinema stands in the same street as (now demolished) The Gaumont, the main cinema from the sixties era in this town. The films are usually pretty much up to the minute - even if not quite as fast as the bigger towns - well, we have a quieter pace of life around here! As for facilities, it's situated built into the Westway shopping precinct and just a few footsteps away from the central car park. There's showings every day, often twice a day, and as mentioned the titles are always popular, recently released films. Up the steep stairs (ask in advance about wheelchair access) there is a small foyer with ticket sales, sweet and soft drink sales - and a small bar. Yes, here you can sip a pint or two as you watch the action unfold on the screen. In homage to the olden days of cinema a small ice-cream kiosk opens between the adverts and the main feature for last-minute stock-up of drinks and nibbles. With concessions for children and OAPs and a perfectly pleasant and comfortable setting, this saves a small fortune (especially for families) on travelling to the more pricey cinemas in Bath. Well worth supporting your local cinema!

Three screens are available and often films are shown that have been and gone at the larger ones. It is one of the few remaining cinemas in the country that you are able to have a pint of beer in. How marvellous is that?!
