I've been training with Coach Katie and I honestly couldn't recommend her more. She's incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and knows exactly how to push you without making you feel overwhelmed. Every session leaves me feeling stronger, more confident, and actually excited to keep going. What I love most is how motivating she is on days when I feel like I can't do it, she's right there encouraging me and helping me push past my limits. She really takes the time to understand your goals and keeps you accountable, which has made a huge difference for me. If you're looking for a trainer who genuinely cares, keeps you motivated, and helps you see real progress, Coach Katie is the one. Highly recommend! read more

Since my last review, there really haven't been any positive changes at this UFC Gym. First, I want to give credit where it's due. The lone janitor/maintenance guy does an incredible job. I'm honestly surprised he manages to keep the place as clean as he does by himself. He deserves recognition. Unfortunately, that's about where the positives end. There is a constant carousel of front desk employees. Trainers have almost completely disappeared. Ironically, I recently received an email advertising an "Elite" membership that includes unlimited classes and the recovery room. The problem is... what unlimited classes? When I first joined, they had an outstanding kickboxing coach, Jergoff, teaching multiple morning and evening classes. I haven't seen him in roughly six months. They also had an excellent boxing coach with real experience. I haven't seen him--or his classes--in a long time. I rarely see jiu-jitsu being taught anymore. Occasionally I'll walk by and catch a No-Gi class, but nothing consistent with the posted schedule. I haven't seen MMA classes running in quite some time either, and I honestly can't remember the last yoga class I saw. Could I have simply missed a few classes? Sure. But I've been a member for over two years, come in at all different times of the day, and I know who used to teach what. The original MMA coach has been gone for about a year. His replacement only lasted a few months. At this point, it's hard to understand why the gym continues advertising unlimited classes when so many of them either aren't happening or are incredibly inconsistent. From a customer's perspective, it feels misleading. That isn't even why I'm leaving. The reason I'm officially looking for another gym is because the newest bald manager decided to ban me from using the vibrating foam roller. His explanation was that it's a display model meant to be seen and purchased--not used. The ironic part is that on my very first day at this gym, I was specifically told that both the percussion gun and the vibrating foam roller were available for any member to use and were not part of the recovery room. I have no idea why this suddenly became an issue. Every time I'm there, I might see one person using the recovery room--if that. Me spending five minutes with the foam roller wasn't costing the gym recovery memberships. If anything, it highlights a sales problem, not a customer problem. This gym used to be alive. It was packed. Classes were full. Trainers were engaged. The recovery room had people in it. They hosted UFC viewing parties, raffles, holiday events, and there was actual energy when you walked through the doors. Now the atmosphere feels desperate. Empty. Sad. The only reason I stayed as long as I did was because most of the staff have always been friendly, and the gym has remained very clean. But being told I couldn't use a foam roller--after years of being allowed to--and then immediately receiving an email trying to sell me an "Elite" membership was honestly insulting. Over the next few days I'll be trying other gyms. If I find one I like, I'll be back to cancel my membership. If not, I'll keep looking. Either way, I'll be canceling soon. For anyone considering joining, I honestly don't think the upgraded membership is worth it anymore. The access-only membership has gone up in price, and the premium membership no longer offers the value it once did because the trainers and classes that justified the cost simply aren't there anymore. Yes, the recovery room is nice--probably the nicest feature the gym still has. But many competing gyms include amenities like saunas, pools, and hot tubs in a standard membership. Between that and the growing number of affordable at-home recovery devices, it's hard to justify paying roughly $120 a month for a gym that no longer delivers what made it special. When professional fighters were teaching classes every day, on schedule, there was a real argument that the price was worth it. Today, I don't think there is. More than anything, I'm disappointed. This used to be one of my favorite gyms. Watching it decline over the past couple of years has been frustrating. Ironically, the final straw wasn't some major issue--it was being told I could no longer use a foam roller I'd been allowed to use for years. I hope that decision was worth losing a loyal customer. read more

I have a Championship membership from another UFC gym. Briana the Assistant Operations Manager refuses to honor it. I find this to be unreasonable because this membership is accepted at all UFC gyms. My quuestion to Briana is why doesn't she accept it. I want to use the Recovery room at the UFC Brea gym and Briana doesn't believe that the Championship membershio from another UFC gym includes recovery so without my persmission she calls that UFC gym to verify it. I don't like it when Briana violates my boundaries without respecting me. This action represents the lack of respect at UFC Brea. I commented to Briana that she violated my boundaries by calling the other UFC gym without getting my permission first. Briana said "I'm doing you a favor " I was incredulous by this remark when she banned me from the gym earlier. At this point, I said to her I want you to leave me alone. I want you to go away. I feel that I'm being harrassed, bullied, and she is cruel to me in words and actions. She doesn't understand what professionalism means. read more

Living in the area I've been seeing this gym. My brother joined earlier this year and I've been curious to try it. I did a walk in to see it and an employee showed me around. He was kind of knowledgeable but typical sales man. I felt like he answered questions just to answer without caring on accuracy. Some things didn't really add up to what my brother had told me, but whatever. I tried a couple classes before deciding to join. Only reason I was looking to join is because I run out of credits from my yoga and my Pilates studios. I did a yoga class which is on the easier side, not so much of a workout. I'm used to power yoga a yoga six and could definitely tell the difference in difficulty and preparedness or lack of. I took a pilates class which is mat pilates, no reformers. I've taken 2 different instructors which have completely different styles. Thursday will be more cardio like and reminds me of HIIT. The Tuesday was more intentional movements and holding positions to work your muscles. For all 3 of these I highly recommend bringing your own mat, but they do have some available. My absolute favorite class so far has been the dance class. The instructor is Hugh energy, friendly and will take her time to guide you when needed. The second floor has all the equipment: weights, cardio, and bootcamp area. First floor are most of the classes and recovery center. read more

UFC Brea never fails. Came today to workout and got an Amazing shake!! Thank you so much it was amazing!!

I trained with Coach Parks and he is truly an amazing and knowledgeable coach. I had prior powerlifting experience and had left the gym for a couple of years. Coach Parks got me back into a routine and gave me a good split for my training. He knew when to push me for lifts and our sessions would go by so fast. He is readily available to answer questions and give advice/feedback. I cannot thank him enough for all the knowledge he has given me. read more

Crooks , they will add sessions you never asked for upon sign up and then charge u seven fees a year bullshit illegal business tactics I dont recommend this dirty run down gym showers are musty all employees are lazy and too entitled to pick up a mop or pick up a paper off the floor. Shady sales associates waste of money and time just go elsewhere...I've spent over $800 in less than 9 months here and they still treat you as if your nobody to them. Forget this place it won't last longer than tower records and you guys should clean your windows they musty ass he'll just like your front desk girls. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with UFC Gym Brea. I was charged approximately $1,200 without my authorization, and when I brought it to their attention, the gym refused to issue a refund or take responsibility. I never approved this charge, nor was I clearly informed that such a large amount would be billed. What's most frustrating is the lack of accountability and customer service. Instead of trying to resolve the issue fairly, they dismissed my concerns and offered no meaningful solution. For a business of this size, I expected transparency, proper authorization for charges, and professional handling of billing disputes. I strongly recommend that anyone considering signing up carefully review their contract, monitor their bank statements closely, and get everything in writing. Based on my experience, billing practices here are questionable, and resolving issues afterward is extremely difficult. I would not recommend UFC Gym Brea to anyone who values clear communication and honest billing. read more

Great gym with a clean facility, quality equipment, and a friendly staff. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great place to work out!

No need to have better "communication". Just stop SCAMMING people. Sadly, I'm not the only one. I'm telling all my friends and family that signed up here with me to cancel also. Never had this experience anywhere else. LA Fitness, Lifetime, etc. only THIS UFC location read more

I started going to the gym feeling completely lost, overwhelmed, and honestly, pretty shy. Working with Coach Rachel changed everything for me. From day one, she made me feel safe, comfortable, and supported. She truly has a gift for guiding you without ever making you feel judged, and she pushes you to do better in all the right ways. Every session with her was not only productive but genuinely so much fun. Week after week, I watched myself grow, lifting more and going down on the scale. With her help, I've lost 23 pounds, gained confidence in myself, and learned to love my body and what it can do. I honestly couldn't have done this without her. I'm beyond grateful to have been trained by Rachel and would recommend her to anyone who wants a trainer who actually cares and knows exactly how to bring out their best. read more

I like the coziness of the gym floor and for those who want MMA, you've also got that including MMA trainers...

Overall a great gym, If your looking to meet your fitness goal, train different, and be pushed to your full potential I highly recommend you book a session with Coach Parks. The overall training was nothing but the best, and soon hope to book a session again ! read more

This is a great spacious gym with plenty of parking in the heart of Brea. I received personal training from three coaches so far and they were all wonderful! I'm currently being trained by Coach Katie and she is my personal favorite! She is so incredibly encouraging, motivating, and knowledgeable. Definitely goes above and beyond. I love how she takes the time to explain various exercises and the purpose behind them, so you know exactly why you're going through the different types of pain. She is also SO patient and does her very best to meet you where you're at while still pushing you past your limits. My sessions have been so positive, exactly what I needed after having a baby and trying to get back in shape! You can tell she really cares about your progress and wants the best for your fitness journey! read more

I come to UFC Brea often and just tried the Praying Mantis blend at the Armbar. It was really good, I wish I tried it before.

Pro: Clean gym with a good variety of machines and heavy bags for kickboxing and DUT. Con: This is my 5th UFC GYM since my membership allows me to go anywhere. In none of the other gyms are there this many gym bros that thinks they're cool but just sad. Dude if you can't lift then lower your weight why tf are you dropping them? Not just one person either but at least five different guys just dropping weight on the machine. I get if you're doing 300 lbs deadlift but if you can't even do 50 lbs on the machine then maybe don't. All the weights and machines are on the second floor so when they drop it isn't just loud but it literally shakes the whole floor like an earthquake. I'm California native so earthquake to us is like what earthquake but here it's really bad. read more

WARNING FRAUD ALERT great gym, however be CAREFUL with their contracts, they add all sorts of fees at the end and will be routed for collections. Make sure to document your cancellation efforts otherwise they will extort as much as they can. I called my Brea gym two months prior to cancel over the phone, the idiot rep said not to worry about it as it would cancel on its own. and now f***ers keep calling threatening collections. Take a look at ALL the negative reviews, they are ALL around billing, canceling and fees. Then the business manager makes a half hearted attempt at "understanding" customer's frustrations. How about fixing your predatory policies??? read more

I transferred from the La Mirada UFC to Brea since I moved and I really like the Brea location. Machines feel new and there's a good amount of them so it never feels too cramped. When I transferred I signed up for personal training and am training with Coach Katie and she's AMAZING! Coach Katie really cares about giving you the most out of your training sessions. She's very observant so she'll watch you to make sure you're doing the exercises and movements correctly to prevent injuries and make sure you're getting a solid workout in. She absolutely pushes me to my max in the best way possible! I leave each session feeling good and sore! She encourages me and keeps me going, even when I feel like I can't keep going! I'm feeling muscles sore that haven't felt sore before! If you're looking into personal training, go with Coach Katie!! read more

Probably the worst location ever in terms of customer service. I came to cancel my membership because I'm moving over 20 miles away and the manager Brian Walker refused to cancel my membership. He was also extremely dismissive and kept asking why I was moving why I wanted to cancel why can't I just make the drive etc. This is not something that I'm unfamiliar with by the way because I've not only owned my own gym for six years. I've also managed multiple commercial gyms in my 20s so I know that this is completely inappropriate behavior. He kept cutting me off and barely would let me get a word in edgewise . I'm also a three-time certified Olympic weightlifting coach and he kept insinuating that I wouldn't know how to work out if I used an apartment gym and was just so condescending when this guy literally does not look like he knows how to even walk up a flight of stairs. After wasting my time and trying to tear me down, he then told me that he does not do cancellations and that I would have to go to the front desk. I even told him my gym membership is literally a $15 a month employee add-on so I don't even understand why they're hurting so badly for $15 a month but again all of my concerns were ignored. The front desk told me they're not able to do cancellations and I said that Brian refused to cancel and the front desk was completely shocked and confused as to why. They actually had to page someone to come down since Brian refused to do his job legally. He's also constantly blocking the front door to try to flirt with young trainers, which is really disgusting, but I wasn't gonna say anything about it until I was treated so poorly by him. Finally, the assistant manager helped me which I appreciated because that was very smooth and he's honestly the only person besides Robert Duran that has given me good service here. No matter what gym I owned or managed, I was always a 24 hour member until the Anaheim Garden walk location became ufc, which is the reason I switched to ufc to begin with, but honestly, it was a mistake and I'm so happy to be a canceled member read more

No customer service here. charging fee whenever they feel like it instead of following member agreement. Won't allow me to cancel. Was given corporate email still haven't gotten a response with my issue. Manger here Rachel Garcia just gives you the run around. Doesn't resolve issues that are computer errors. Pretty much tell you "not my problem" Here are your fees that were never put into your balance or charged to your account two months later because it convenient for us right now instead of immediately charging them as stated per member agreement. Doesn't matter they want you to follow the agreement but they can't. They also couldn't give me a direct number to corporate. read more

Horrible experience. They just won't let you cancel. I went in once to cancel, signed the documents and everything. The guy said I would get an email with the confirmation. I never did. I called back after a few days and they said there's no cancellation documentation, so I need to come back in and sign again. Be careful signing up if you ever want to cancel. read more

by far the best UFC gym in the LA area in my opinion. I drive from DTLA to come here because of how clean it is, the knowledgeable coaches, and the new machines. I hardly see a wait time on any machines every time i come during peak hours (5pm-7pm). Definitely worth the drive. Also wanted to give a huge shoutout out to coach Rachel who is an amazing personal trainer and bad ass boxing coach. Already lost 8 pounds in less than a month with her guidance. Also coach sean is an excellent kickboxing coach who has a great kickboxing/conditioning class that is properly structured for both conditioning and technical skills. Pretty happy with my experience so far read more

I've been going to this gym for a while now, and overall it's been a really positive experience. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and has a good variety of equipment, so there's rarely a long wait for machines even during busy hours. I'm not one to write bad reviews. You can check my history and see I'm not one of those negative Yelpers. I'm writing this review because unfortunately, this Brea UFC gym is engaging in some manipulative practices that I need to make others aware of. My husband utilized the free recovery session offered to him. Since he found it beneficial, he decided to purchase 8 sessions to use throughout the year. His coach was unable to complete the transaction so he was referred to Chris. My husband provided his AMEX card and was charged $640 for the 8 sessions. Months later, we discovered that they had continued to charge $640 a month on the VISA he has on file for his membership dues. When we discovered this, my husband immediately asked to cancel this since he didn't sign up for this recurring service. He had to speak to management several times before it was actually cancelled. In the meantime, another $640 was charged. We immediately disputed these charges. My husband hadn't signed up for this recurring service. When we asked them to produce the "contract" where he signed up for this monthly service, they produced the signed "contract" that my husband thought was the receipt for the 8 sessions. He signed what he thought was the receipt for the eight sessions ONLY on the AMEX. However on the contract, it shows the VISA that is on file not the AMEX he gave them when he made the purchase. It has been a nightmare trying to get a refund for the 5 months of charges (totaling $3,200). He didn't sign up for this recurring service. He was never informed that he was signing up for a recurring service. These are manipulative practices to obtain bonuses or commission. Their management just refers me to their corporate office phone number but not surprisingly there is no one you can talk to. You just get the option to leave a voicemail. I have left several voicemails but no response. Be cautious and aware of these manipulative practices when signing anything. It's shameful that they trick and manipulate their customers like this. read more

I loved this gym when I first started going a year after it opened. Friendly staff, clean, new equipment, and it was never too busy especially during peak hours. Now it seems they've sold too many memberships for cheaper because no matter the time you go it's beyond full. Very difficult to get a bench. I started going here to avoid the packed gyms now I spend too long here waiting for equipment. I like to get my workout in asap and leave. I try to be courteous of people waiting. It's giving planet fitness sadly. Will continue going for now but I hope I don't have issues cancelling in the future if I leave since that seems to be a major complaint in the reviews. read more

I usually have a good experience as a frequent gym-goer here. The other day, as I left the gym, I went out of my way (by about 5-7 seconds) to keep a door wide open for some guy walking in. No eye contact, no "thank you", nothing. It was the 3rd time that happened to me at that gym. It normally doesn't bother me. I get that some people have bad days or weren't taught manners. The difference this time, though, is that the dude was an employee there. I'm an independent personal trainer... despite that, showing respect to other patrons, even those I don't know, at my private gym, is imperative. No matter where you work, showing a smidge of gratitude to customers, especially when they're being generous, regardless of their appearance or whether or not they're extroverted or introverted, is essential in my opinion. I won't cancel my membership. It is the best gym in the area... in terms of aesthetics and convenience. It has a variety of state-of-the-art equipment. Hardly ever overcrowded. I just wish people, especially at their own workplace, would reciprocate respect when it's given to them. I may consider changing my review in the future, but for now I'm sticking with it. read more

Even though my membership was canceled in January, the gym continues to bill me for the recovery room. Every month I get a notification and call in to ask them to cancel, they tell me I can't over the phone, after arguing finally they say they will cancel it ....
