Overall a very solid place. Large space with many equipments, all in good shape. No issue with other patrons. Bathroom and sauna are clean and in good condition. Plenty of classes. The front desk staff is not nice but not rude either. However the HUGE plus if you are a parent: they have a daycare. Now I must give some warning. It is not a "proper daycare" with trained staff. It's a room with toys and an adult somewhat supervising. I would not recommend letting your little one in there. Why? I have seen the staff letting a baby on the desk, without supervision. That baby could have crawled away and felt, luckily it did not move. I have also seen small pieces from toys that small ones could choke on. Do not get a membership here! I got one and after I canceled (at the gym with the "manager") they continued to charge me $80 a month. I called and they said they would refund me and stop charging me. Neither of these happened, and after months of calling I had to cancel my credit card, since they have a way to get around block payments... To this day they call me every week trying to get me to update my payment information, and everytime they get the explanation of what happened, they ignore and call back the next week. This gym used to be about fitness, now ITS OVERRUN BY ONLY FANS AND IG CONTENT CREATORS (they all think they're fitness models ) For example I saw a girl walk up the smith machine I wanted to use 8 times and do 8 takes for her onlyfans (acting Inappropriately) and she didn't even do one set ! I filmed it here . This type of thing happens all the time. They use tripods abs now even bring photographers. When this gym first opened there was plenty of parking, and towels and the ac was cold Now the washing machine is always broken, the ac was broken last week, and the music is always too loud. And recently the internet here sucks too now ! With the rates they charge they should care more about this type of thing but they allow the gym to be overrun by big assed girls with tripods and ppl who work there just don't care. The people operating this gym are RATS. They will ignore your want to cancel any PT program you sign up for. Continue charging you for months after you've asked them to stop. Then when you ask them for a refund, will never issue it. Getting in contact with a "manager" is near impossible - you have to accommodate to their schedule in order to hunt them down. They have no form of communication - don't issue receipts - don't answer emails - don't answer calls. She told me they only have "one" person that come to fix "ALL" the problems in "ALL" the UFC gyms in the area. Signed up in the summer of 2021, was promised it would be open by October of 2021, lied to us every month that it would be next month that it would open up. I finally decided to cancel in January of 2022 and am still trying to get my full refund. The gym is going to be nice because it's brand new and it's UFC Gym, but management is an absolute joke. They were very responsive prior to me signing up, when when sh*t hit the fan they completely ghosted me until I called "corporate", which isn't even corporate...just a bunch of people working remote and more empty promises. I am sure many people in Plantation and surrounding towns who have/had memberships at gyms like UFit, Planet Fitness or the legendary 1440 fitness (before it was shut down) had really high hopes to join this gym. Brand new gym, lots of features, price wasn't that bad, and the location is nearly perfect because of how close it is to residential areas. I could walk there it's so close to my home. We all drove past the UFC Fit trailer on University and thought, "Hmmm that new Plantation Walk sure looks nice. Maybe I should check out what that new gym could offer." If you act fast and sign up up before the gym opened you could get that ever so sweet founders discount. So why the one star review? The gym has yet to open. Okay no problem. We could wait a month or two. After all, it is UFC FIT of Plantation! Well what's the REAL issue? I signed up and paid for the membership agreement in JULY 2021... that's over 220 days and I think ~$100 out of pocket (I can't remember how much signing up cost because it was so long ago.) The money isn't the main the issue... that is long gone. The real issue is the lack of integrity from management of this specific UFC fit. I, among many others who signed up, have had ZERO communication from the employees, managers, or corporation about the expected open date... well that's not true. I was told that the gym would open by October 2021 after I signed the membership agreement. Sure I can wait a few months- the pandemic is probably causing some delays in the gyms operation... But wait- it's the middle of March 2022 and still this gym remains closed? My experience isn't even the worst. Others signed up months before me and were promised a grand opening in August 2021. Read the google reviews. Am I impatient? Not really. I signed up for another gym just to wait until UFC Fit Plantation opened. I was told the day I signed up that it was the LAST day for the "founders discount". What an opportunity to save some cash...? Not really. I could sign up today and get that same discount. It was just a tactic to make people buy memberships because if they didn't sign up NOW they wouldn't be able to save money tomorrow. Classic salesman move. So back to the integrity of management: Yelp reviews for this gym are incredibly misleading. In fact, the guy who sold me my membership has given the gym a 5 star rating stating how amazing the gym is, but I would say he might be a little biased, especially since he is the manager... and well the gym isn't even open. He gave me his phone number to text if I had questions, but I finally did just this today and to my surprise, as a founder of the one and only UFC FIT Plantation, I did not get a text back. The audacity. Anyone who signed up in 2021 should be refunded 100% TLDR: Members were promised this gym would be opened anywhere from August 2021 to October 2021. Gym still hasn't opened. I am very impress about The PT manger Derrell. The competition that we did this year was very organized and clean and did a great job with the workout. He always make sure everything is organized on the gym floor and that we all have the equippment. Hes one of a kind. All of the trainers are super professional especially derrell. The equipment, staff, & classes/personal training sessions (especially Mikerson) are great, but the drawback's definitely overshadow the good of this gym. The overbearing circle lights in the gym are blinding to the point that other people and I wear sunglasses to avoid the discomfort. Also, the music is so ridiculously loud, I have to yell just to talk to anyone there & I can still hear their music over my AirPods with noise cancellation up to full blast. The blinding lights & overbearing music make it hard to get in the zone. I gave them the low rating bc the worst part is we've personally heard people complain to staff multiple times, and nothing is ever done. I don't understand why I was charged when I wanted my membership cancelled. Tried contacting this "Foxworth" guy since he's a manager, he's only helpful when you're getting a membership but literally ghosts you when you try cancelling or waiving your payment. That should be an easy fix? The 24hr fitness I used to go to can adjust, even cancel faulty payments like these in 2 minutes. All these employees keep dodging questions. The lights in this gym are way too bright. I've literally seen people in here wearing sunglasses because of the stupid circular lights hanging from the ceiling. They are way too bright. This gym has a serious problem with members not re-racking their weights and other equipment when done with it. There's no one walking around telling people to re-rack their weights and there's also no signs. However.... If you love walking up to the leg press machine with five 45 pound plates on each side that someone left and didn't take off, then this is the gym for you. The bathrooms do not have paper towels which I'm sure, in a GYM.... Anyone can imagine there's things you need paper towels for in a gym locker room. They have the nautilus hip thrust machines but no padding for the belt bands. How is anyone supposed to use them without padding? I've heard girls talking and they go out and buy their own squat pads and hip thrust from the bar on the floor instead of using the hip thrust machine. There's no bar Pads for squatting, so bring your own. There's No yoga mats in this whole entire gym so.... Where are you supposed to do abs? Lol. Sitting on the turf floor? Or the hard wood floor in the aerobics room? The yoga balls are weird. They're either a low quality yoga ball or they're not filled up properly. Your cardio options are limited as this gym doesn't have any arc trainers. If this gym wants to compete with other gyms in the area they need more hip thrust stations and gluteal equipment. I have been here 1 month and I really like the friendliness of the staff, the location, vibe, clean environment. One of the managers, Matt, has been the best. He is responsive, readily available, and helpful. I really like the boxing/kickboxing professional coaches. I also recommend my personal trainer, Reginald (Reggie), with 20+ years experience. I have past injuries but I still get a tough workout with proper technique so I don't hurt myself. In general I noticed that the trainers are really focused on their clients (not looking around). I love the recovery room, especially the cryo; muscle recovery is faster and less painful for me. On another note, I have seen reviews about the weight area being too busy but I have had good experiences with friendly members that allowed me to work in with them. It's only been a month but this is unlike other gyms where I feel like a no named member. I feel like I found my tribe and the personal experience makes me look forward to going to the gym. read more
