I've heard of…read moresuch horrible experiences of root canals that when I found out that I needed one I dreaded it so much. But I was in excruciating pain & my cheek was throbbing. My dentist said it would only get worse, so he referred me to Endo Specialists. I called and they were able to bring me in right a away, that day. I called around 9am and was able to get an emergency appointment at 12. My specialist was Dr. Patrick Munley. He made me feel at ease and attempted to calm my worries. He explained the whole procedure to me before hand. Even with the numbing injection, which is the supposedly the sorest/hardest part of the procedure, I didn't feel a thing, because of the way he did it. He put pressure with his hand in the area of where the needle went so you felt pressure more than the needle itself. The root canal itself took about an hour, but I didn't feel feel a thing. He allows you to stop if you need to, and tells u what they are doing and keeps you in the loop of how much time you have left. I was so shocked and relieved how easy the whole procedure was. All these horror stories of root canals, and my experience was a breeze! He offered his business card and written cell phone number in case I had any questions during non office hours. He called me the next day as well, as a courtesy follow up, to ask how I was doing and if I had any other questions - I don't know how much Dr's now days take the time to call their patients. If you are in dire need of an important/emergency dental procedure, I would highly recommend their office!

I was able to schedule an appointment with Island Endodontics fairly quickly, and I'm so glad I did. The office was easy to find, had convenient parking, and was located in a beautiful building. Everything was extremely clean, modern, and equipped with what appeared to be the latest technology, not what I was used to seeing at my previous dentist's office! The staff was welcoming, friendly, and professional from the moment I arrived. Dr. Noz took the time to listen to my recent experience, reviewed my X-rays, and examined my teeth. He discovered that the tooth I was concerned about actually had a crack from an old filling. He even mentioned that recommending a root canal after just one test seemed like a significant jump for this particular issue.
