When you tour, they show you all the cool lab stuff that you will rarely use. They pack the classes with more students than seats. The onboarding process is extremely unorganized. Everyone is placed in a large room for briefings, then they move you to a room where they provide two staff members to "aid" you in accessing all the required programs. Yet those staff members are only knowledgable in the programs specific to their fields. Then you are sent to a classroom where pre-existing students have been receiving instruction since class started, while you were receiving onboarding briefs and gaining access to required programs. So, you start at a disadvantage. The curriculum has build in labs on the two in-person days. However, the instructors frequently come up with reasons not to preform the labs. Some instructors add a lot of "busy work" that is not part of the Evaluation Criteria expressed on the syllabus. If you are Military utilizing your Post 9/11 G.I. Bill they verify your contract with the VA by classes instead of monthly. So, it throws your pay off. On testing days there is no consideration for students that require an environment free of distraction. There is a department that is supposed to be here to assist students with resumes and job opportunities. They do not respond to emails, although the school is hybrid (In-person & online) and when in person, they ofter find a reason they can not assist you. There is no system in place that provides you with your final grade following completion of classes aside from them being posted to your Student Degree Evaluation Report two weeks after conclusion of that class. Four months in and I have lost all interest and excitement in the field of study I once was ecstatic about.

They just want to push everyone through to graduation. Upon graduating, I couldn't even get a job in my desired career field. Today I went to exchange a book at the Seminole State College Oviedo campus. Nine Inch Nails folks...I wish I could have waited longer just to finish the song! Anyway, coming from a university where an hour wait in the campus bookstore is short, I was definitely relieved. A guy went and got the book that I needed even though I was prepared to hunt for it on my own and I almost passed out due to shock. Though I will say that since the store is about the size of a walk-in closet, it was only a few steps and a lean for the associate to get the book. The campus is very tidy and well hidden from the road by an abundance of trees. Located on a 120 acre nature preserve, the Oviedo campus is truly unique and appealing with its natural landscape. Student parking is easy, though visitor parking limited. Before enrolling with Seminole State, I came to this campus for more information and upon arrival all 5 visitor spaces were filled. I had to make my way to the student center in the rain just to get a brochure. By the way, the guy at the front desk of the student center has the personality of a box of rocks and doesn't seem to want to be bothered. It's possible he is a work-study student focusing on his school work during business hours, I don't know. Despite this, I believe he should still perform as though he's working for a business and greet future/ current students a bit more appropriately. If he's not a student then Seminole State should possibly think of relocating the individual to another position better suited for his personality. That position needs to be manned by a personable individual willing to greet and assist since that position is a representation of the school itself and for some (like myself) is a first impression. I also visited the library and the woman behind the desk was very helpful. A class was using the computer stations but I was still allowed to access an available computer anyway. I did not use any other materials so I can't really comment on the extent of the library's resources. This campus seems to have a traditional student body. The two times that I've been to this location I haven't seen many older students and I remember thinking that I was the oldest person walking around (I'm 32). My visits were during the early morning to afternoon hours so I don't know about the evening classes. I give the Oviedo campus two thumbs up.

Several comments focus on "beware" of giving out numbers, but they are very specific and have only aimed to help take care of next steps and I've NEVER EVER felt pressured. They obviously care, but aren't pushy. We're not sure if they will be the place I the end, but it's a real option and I haven't anything bad to say about their practices. Also, they are fully upfront with costs, struggles about timing and trying to hold down a job at the same time, housing issues that are different etc. If anything I was impressed that they were so low pressure. Literal quote: It's okay if you end up not coming here. We just want to give you all the information up front so you'll have a good idea if it makes financial sense for you or not.

My wife and I along with friends attended UCF's Flying Horse Big Band (you can find them on YouTube…read more& Spotify) recently when they played a concert in this venue. Parking was free in a nearby, designated lot and was included with the tickets we purchased. The music pieces played were fun and well-crafted. The intimate concert hall greatly enhanced the amazingly talented musicians and the world-traveled, well-connected, extremely knowledgeable, and engaging band leader. An electronic ticketing system using an iPad was utilized when we arrived so no paper tickets or mobile phone are necessary. We'd like to return for the next time they play here.

I finished my bachelors in Human Communication and decided to stay on for my Masters. The professors here are wonderful. I've never been anywhere with such a collection of smart, caring people. The professors I've had have all been passionate about helping each student improve their lifelong communication skills. Every UCF student has to take an Oral Communication course, but I recommend taking more classes at NSC, regardless of your major. The classes that I have learned the most from are Conflict Management and Interpersonal Communication. I wish they were required for all students- we would have a much more civil community. If you are trying to decide on major that will help your career, try some NSC classes to see if Communication is right for you!

You will get harassed and bullied and nothing is done about it (If you're white) I am disabled and was verbally attacked and almost physically but some of the students stepped in. When the "investigation" went on only three students were asked to give statements and of course all three were her friends lmao. I wasn't even given a chance to tell my side, I wasn't even asked for a statement. Needless to say I was expelled and the other girl is still attending. The last white girl who spoke on it and her parents threatened to sue the teachers were all told to just pass her and get her through. Needless to say she didn't take her nclex because she would have failed. School is trash. I'm glad I changed my mind about being an LPN and take a shortcut. I will be pursuing my RN at a reputable school. This institution loses its accreditation all the time so be aware. I'm attaching the review that the other girl left so you can see this is a recurring problem. She removed it once the parents threatened to sue and the school agreed to pass her. If you smoke pot it's ok we will send you to clinicals anyway. What a joke. Also, the BEST part is one of the teachers pulled her gun (yes you heard me correctly) on a student because she thought it was an intruder - all of this occurred while the school was open. This school is filthy dirty and smells like mildew. This place is a joke. Stay away. You've been warned.

I attended Kaplan University online from 2010 to 2013 for my M.B.A. in International Business. I…read moreloved it. I is a real school, the courses were definitely challenging and I did have to sacrifice a lot of time to complete the courses. But the upside is that I was still able to travel as usual on vacation as long as I submitted my assignments on time. I really enjoyed the experience and the effort paid off in the long run.

I took 2 classes online 1 semester had government financial aid for close to 4,000 dollars which I…read moream paying back. I get a phone call today saying I owe Kaplan University 760.00 from there creditor from almost two years ago. I am blown away that two classes online cost upwards of 5,000.00 dollars I believe this is the definitions being screwed. Beware of Kaplan College who is now been bought by Perdue college. I would find any other school than this one. Especially since it seems they have done similar things to others as well. I am surprised there hasn't been a class action law suit against the crooks stealing money from kids and parents who are trying to get an education. The only reason they got a one star is because there isn't anything lower.
