I'm currently a student at FTC for Esthetics. If you're considering this school to become aestheticians, RUN RUN please make another choice! Listen to somebody that's actually going through it. Me picking this school is one of my biggest regrets. All they care about is money, & not the students who attend the school. The esthetics program at FTC is a choice I wish I never made, it's not worth your time and money and the debt you'll be in, no matter who you are you'll be in debt in this program or have to pay a monthly fee which is absolutely crazy. Financial aid does not cover it all because it's $17000!! if you're approved for Financial aid it would only cover a portion so the other portion you have to take a loan out or you'd have to make monthly payments. Florida tech, Aveda and Hollywood beauty etc, all these schools offer the same benefits for a cheaper and shorter length time for the program. I didn't do my proper research, I chose this school because it was closest to my home and also convenient to my family, which has taught me that the easiest route is not always good for you. I really thought I was going to get the best experience for how much money i've spent. The other crazy thing to me is that at the end of the day no matter what school you choose in Florida, we all get the same certificate and have to register at the same place. Florida only requires 260 hours to become an aesthetician. So my question to FTC why is this program for a year? Why is this program $17,000? The kit that you will receive for this program Is very questionable. You'll end up having to buy things online because the kit doesn't provide what you need. Every month there's new students added on to the class that the teacher doesn't even know about, there's not enough equipment in the classroom for all of us to learn or it's too many students where we all can't be able to do hands-ons.I have a passion for skin care, I love everything about skin care this school has made me think twice about it In my future and I hate that. I'm about to graduate this upcoming December, I don't feel Prepared or even confident to call myself an aesthetician. We still haven't learned how to do extractions which is the biggest step into doing facials. We did a whole month on makeup, which is not the importance of becoming an aesthetician. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that I feel like I've been robbed from my education, my money and my time. read more
