Even one of my knees had reduced swelling. He was also able to provide analysis of my MRI lab tests and is realistic of what I could expect if I don't take care of my body. Nothing was sugar coated. I think he's very friendly and helpful in my recovery and healing journey. Health is something one should not overlook. On 06-18-14, I went to see Dr Fung for three different pains and I was so excited that this time, I…read morethought I have found a good doctor that he will give solutions to my problems. When he asked me to describe my pains, I started with my headaches and he said go to the next, then I said pain in my ribs (costochondritis) and he said again go to the next. Then I said pain in my left leg and knee. On the last one he showed some interest, and he recommended an EMG test for the next visit. I guess the other two problems were beyond his skills or too complicated for him and he did not want to be bothered By the way, the pain on my left leg started, after I finished the varicose veins ablation with Dr Kokinos (Vascular Doctor). I had already being to Emergency and besides some morphine they gave me for the pain they never diagnosed the source of the pain. On 07-01-14, I met him again for the test and he found out that on the outside of my left leg, my nerves were irritated but not damaged. The only thing he recommended for the pain was one Gabapentin or Neurontin, before I go to sleep. I followed his instructions, but the pain did not go away. I knew that his approach, was not beneficial to me. Few weeks later, I requested from his secretary to fax me the print out from the EMG test. At least I wanted to have something in my hands when I would meet the next doctor, eventually to find solution to my leg pain. My primary doctor sent me to Spine & Sports Medical Group and over there on 09-11-14, I met Dr Gowda. After I gave him the EMG report and I told him about Dr Kokinos malpractice, he immediately, recommended a treatment. He told me "you need adductor canal block or fibular nerve block". He said also that this procedure requires Ultra Sound guidance and since his clinic did not provide this machine, he recommended to go to Stanford pain clinic. By the way Dr Gowda has recently graduated from Stanford and he has half of Dr Fung's age. On 11-24-14, I went to the Stanford pain clinic and I gave the diagnosis of Dr Gowda to Dr Kao. He did not need to study any EMG test. I explained to him that lately I keep waking up in the middle of the night, from pain on my left knee and during the day on and off, I get numbness on my left calf and goes all the way down to my foot. Dr Kao told me that, I have two damaged nerves. One is the saphenous nerve and the other is the peroneal nerve. He explained to me that he can treat one nerve at a time. So, that day he did a "left saphenous nerve block with steroids" and on 12-19-14, he will do a "left common peroneal nerve block". But according to Dr Fung's, diagnosis, I had only nerve irritation and not damage. So, the story goes like this: You go to Dr Kokinos to treat your varicose veins, then she is damaging your leg nerves and you have been left high and dry. Then you start an endless run around to find a good doctor to diagnose the damage, that is caused by the first doctor and I have not mention in this letter, all the clinics, that I have been, for the leg nerve pains. Few questions for Dr Fung 1)Do you believe that you have reached from your medical knowledge the highest potential as far as diagnosing, treating and eliminating my nerve pains? 2)When I asked you, few questions regarding my lower back pain and I showed you the lumbar MRI, you started complaining that I wanted to get my money's worth from that visit. Was that so painful to answer me, few extra questions? 3)Do you think that the Neurontin medicine is panacea? 4)Are you in business to help and treat patients or to make lots of money, no matter how? 5)Don't you think, that it is time to start thinking outside of the box, or because of your age, it is too late? 6)Are good intentions enough, if they do not bring good results? Dr Fung, the reason I wrote this letter is to let you know that I wasted two visits in your clinic. In case you think that you completed your duty and you took care of your patient.
