They were super friendly at check-in and even offered chocolate chip cookies, which is a first. They also had popcorn. There is also Fatso's pizza place that is part of the front office and they give you a menu upon check-in. We were assigned to site two, which had a beautiful Lake view and was on the end so we had fairly unobstructed views of the lake. There's plenty of green space in this park and they had Disc golf as well as a pretty nice playground for the kids. The sites are fairly close together and there are 60 total sites in the campground, so seem like they had plenty of room. There are a lot of different site types that you can reserve, including one that is completely paved with some patio furniture. They also have cabins to rent if you don't have a camper. Loved all the shade trees too. We did not use the public showers or restroom so I cannot comment on that. With a good Sam discount, this place was $53 per night. Make sure to try the pizza, we ordered a small one just for a snack and it was fantastic! Make sure to ask them to make the cross extra crispy if you like it that way. All the utilities worked fine although I will say, even with our filter, the water had a little bit of an odor to it. Not sure what that was all about. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within about a mile of this place as well.

The ground are well-kept and have statues carved from wood around the site - Rocky (from Bullwinkle, not the boxer ); Abraham Lincoln; and a rooster on top of a pig on top of a horse - not kidding. Oh, and there are real roosters and hens walking around. Super cool! The sites are gravel and level with fire rings. While the campground is very quiet, there is interstate noise at night - be aware. Also, there seems to be a waste water treatment facility nearby - the occasional funk is not so amazing. Great for an overnight stay or a long weekend away with the kids, especially once the pool opens back up.

While there is no dog park, there is lots of room to walk the pups in the shade or in the sun. The trees are very mature and give a lot of shade but not on the pull-thru sites. The sites are level but a bit close. Still easy to get in and out. The kids have several different playground areas, a swimming pool, and lots of open areas to ride their bikes to keep them busy. The freeway is about 2 miles, easy off and on, but none of the noise.

This park is a couple miles inland off the highway, the road in is wide and well marked and the route does take you through part of town. I made reservations over the phone and the woman helping me not only gave me a great rate for my stay, she gave me an additional 10% off for my military service. They do support veterans here. Not all RV parks do. The park is pretty much self check in, there is no office per se, but management is available over the phone and via text messages. Our site was down inside the park, site 39, a level gravel pull through with 50 amp service and FHU. All the hooks up were within a few feet of each other making connections simple and straight forward. This park has FHU on every other site, so if you are looking for that be aware not all sites have a sewer drain port. Each site has a concrete patio area with an aluminum picnic table with benches and a fire ring. There are play areas with swings for kids, a small soccer field and a covered gazebo on the end which has a solid concrete floor with picnic table benches, power, water, lights and a huge smoker and bbq station along with a portapotty. There's a self serve ice station up front along with a dumpster, and covered RV storage. Wide gravel roads with no interior trees makes navigation through the park pretty simple and easy. There are some perimeter shaded back in sites along the outside down by the creek and gazebo, otherwise its full sun. My dogs are rooting to come back as the dog park was simply amazing. Roads in and out were well planned for big rigs and especially for big rigs towing a vehicle. Noise from the highway was very muted and just to be sure we slept well, we ran our a.c. fan on low. It was simply the best!

When in the trailer, it was rarely noticeable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to get a delivery of firewood out to our campsite, which was nice. Also tried my luck in their fishing pond, which is catch and release. I didn't have to release anything, but it was fun and relaxing. The pool area looked great and very refreshing on hot days like when we were there. Some of the things could use some repair, such as the fishing dock and shower floors. They are putting in work to take care of it, so that's good. We would stay here again. You should check it out.

Then the older gentleman said rather curtly something to the effect that he wished people would read the web page, etc. I did just read the webpage and I can't find anything about no cages, I guess I am blind. But, what astonished me was that I wasn't arguing with him, I was actually talking with the other employee. It is what it is, it's one night. But keep that in mind when making reservations.
