Easy to find, nce park with super friendly service (he gets a star by himself!). We stayed one night. Pull-thu Sites are a bit short but we made it in on an angle. Neighbor came over to give us a hand and information. I would definitely stay here again. We stayed here in a 32' travel trailer with pick-up that is 53' overall. You enter down a road with the office at the end. We were on the front row which has 2 exits making it easy to get out. And it was quiet so it was nice to sleep! read more

Archway RV Park - RV Parks Near Me - Mount Vernon, Illinois

Stayed here a few time in a 41ft RV with a toad. They are cool with late check ins and you can do self registration. $50/night or $45 with Good Sam or military discount. Level gravel sites. Lots of conveniences nearby and close to the interstate. read more

Very basic. Fairly level gravel pads. Full hookups for $40. Again. Basic. Nothing fancy. Plenty of big diesel pick up driving rednecks coming and going between 11pm and 5am. They are most certainly making up for deficiencies in certain anatomical parts with their Absurdly loud obnoxious fumes creating noisy oversized pick ups. Sooooo American. Speaking of American, the rv park welcomes you with a disgusting hand-painted piece of their rotten fencing plastered with "NRA" Typical. I expect better from Good Sam licenseesees. Inside. Not one mask. Cramped check in office. Far less than 6' separation with Fox News blaring on the TV in the lobby as if the operators need any more Coolaid. And. On every spare surface in the entire building they have Jesus freak crap all over the place. Total weirdos. Who needs that level of indoctrinated and validation for the consumer facing business? It's oppressive and in bad taste. Also. They have the guy in front of me a $5 discount for his former military duty. Didn't ask about mine but gave me the same "discount" anyway. Pretty slimy to act like they show appreciation for service members which turns out to be a typical BS move since I paid the exact same price. Overall. If it were $20 it would have been fine. But for $40 they need to step up their game and start treating their business like - I don't know - an actual business. read more

This was our experience at this RV park: While setting up on our lot I noticed that the park layout was such that your door opens up facing your neighbors door and you actually share about a 4 foot wide strip of grass between trailers, absolutely no privacy if you wanted to sit outside! We could not even open our awning as it would have hit the awning next to us! Tiffany (the manager/owner)? happened to come by at that time and asked if everything was ok. I asked if there were any sites where the doors didn't face each other. She got totally belligerent and asked if there was a problem with our neighbors. I said of course not, I just didn't want to be eyeball to eyeball with them. She said "what do you expect for $45?"!!! And also said this was not uncommon @ proceeded to try and lecture me on how commonplace this was! We have been rving for over 25 years through at least 30 states and this is the first time I have ever encountered this situation! And the fact that I didn't go to Tiffany with a complaint, she actually stopped and made the inquiry and then got very nasty when I raised the question. Apparently Tiffany is very personable as long as you don't ask a question of her! A simple "all of our sites face each other" would have sufficed, but she chose to make it into a confrontational issue! This is a marginal park at best, I can't imagine how it has a Good Sams designation, if for no other reason than the bizarre layout of the sites! I would never stay here again (or at any park where you actually share your neighbor's only area for a minimum degree of privacy!) Our neighbors were lovely people but I'm sure they were not comfortable with being right on top of their neighbors either! In addition, these sites are VERY close together! Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere! read more

I give it five stars because it's perfect at what it does. This is a place to rest for the night or a few days (or a month, like we did). It is easy to get in and get out, and just a short, straight shot down Broadway from the Interstate. The town of Mt. Vernon is small, but it has everything you may need while living on the road - Walmart, dining (fast food, diners, and steakhouses) and even a couple of "travel plazas". We even availed ourselves of a Freightliner Oasis shop for some regular maintenance work while we were here. And this is all within a couple miles of the park. The have cabins (if you need to "spread out") and even a couple of retro trailers for rent. And they take credit-cards. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the "lounge" area in the office quaint and comfortable, and the hookups (water, sewer, electric- all the way up to 50-amp) were all very well maintained. The free WiFi was excellent - as good as any place I've stayed (but, hey - the get dodgy now-and-again) - and I was able to work on my computer (I work remotely) most of the time. Great cellular reception when that was needed. A nice playground for the kids and a big enclosed dog area, in my opinion, rounds out all the "must-haves" for a good, solid, comfortable stay. This "year-round" park does have one quirk - it is the only park I have ever seen where the sites are "head-to-toe"; you share the utility hookup area (you each get your own hookups) with one neighbor, and you share the "yard" and picnic table (yes - they all have picnic tables) with the other neighbor. This was not as bad as you might expect, since most folks came in late in the day and left early the next. All things considered, we definitely recommend this as a place to regenerate while on a long haul through the area. We have family in the state, so I know we will. read more

I feel compelled to write this review for Archway RV Park in Mt. Vernon, IL. While the RV Park appears to be in very good condition, I do have two issues that I think are important to note. First, and most important to us, the dog area! There are 2 separate fenced in areas for dogs to run, which is great if you want to keep small and large dogs apart, or have an area for your dog alone while others are in the other section. However, it would be a great idea to have the gates between the two parks close properly!!!! We had just entered the empty, smaller section with our Golden Retriever, when 2 huge Bulldogs that were in the larger area just barreled their way through the closed gate! One of them tried twice to attack our dog while my husband and the owner tried to get the 2 Bulldogs under control. Thankfully our Golden was able to run away and I got her on leash and immediately left the dog area. If you are going to have a gate between the 2 sections, make sure it's not going to open so easily! This situation could have ended very badly and it definitely shook me! Second, why have a laundry area available if it closes at 5:00? A lot of RVer's come in for the night, and generally come in late afternoon/early evening and leave in the morning. Who can do laundry at 7:00 am if you are leaving in the morning? Most RV campgrounds have a separate area or building for laundry that is available late in the evenings and/or 24 hours (access via code to RVer's). Why advertise you have laundry available when it's not for those just spending the night? We will be crossing this RV Park off our list for future stays. Due to the issue with the dog area, I would give it ZERO STARS. read more

The bathrooms, people!! The bathrooms!! Super big and clean. Wonderful shower facilities. Also, this place is a butterfly haven! I haven't s en it mentioned but the landscaping attracts so many butterflies. It was one of the highlights for our kids. Butterflies landing on them! Precious. Kid friendly. They do want your kids to be monitored but we are in a sue happy world. My girls enjoyed the playground, strolling to the pond, playing with some of the toys in the main office. The staff and what appears to be full timers are all friendly. As the mother of two girls, I always have my radar up and nothing gave me pause Facilities were clean. Washers and dryers available. Pet friendly. Plenty of dogs walking around with owners. A dog run is available as well. Lots of space to walk dogs away from campsites. Now this was our first trip in our camper and we ran into so many problems. Blown ties. Axle issue, plumbing issues. Not only was the staff extremely helpful (Ralph rocks) but the area had numerous mechanics and places to find parts and replacements. The highlight was the Band. There is a full time trevlling duo that plays oldcountry, Little Rock and a hint of gospel. They were amazing. Their name is The Band Wanted because they go where they are wanted. Follow them on FB. They are awesome. Ask your campgrounds to host them... they are quite entertaining. read more

This campground is off of a nice street, no winding roads and mts to get to it. The sites are level and spacious. I had a pull thru. It is very quaint and clean. I was only here for a night but really liked it. The office / store is very lovely with all the wood. There are showers, restrooms, and laundry which were all very clean. A cute little pond is in back, and a kids play area. Very cute, wouldn't mind staying here again. read more

The people that run this are only about the money. They are resurfacing the road in front of the park and we were not told upon checking that they work 24 x 7 on the road. This along with the truck stop down the road is not conducive to sleep. They should have been more up front about this. read more

Amazing....From the moment we walked into the darling office to get an RV site, Ralph and Tiffany were amazing, personable and so friendly. In the morning, we walked into the adorable coffee room and we were greeted with coffee and homemade breakfast. It was like going back in time...the guys were all catching up on the day and Ralph made us feel so welcome. What a pleasure...it has been the best RV Park experience so far. read more

This campground was a lucky little find. We were just passing through and saw the sign from the interstate. It is small, but nice. The owner's daughter who checked us in was quite friendly and helpful. read more

Great place with nice people. We stayed a couple of days to just unwind from a long drive. There is a high end Japanese restaurant across the street and you can walk to Walmart. The town itself is nice and we spend one day at the water park there. Very relaxing campground. read more

Highly disappointed in this RV park. What could be a great park has slipped into being worth avoiding and continuing to another park down the road. Minuses go to advertising cable tv when it's no longer available. Spotty if any Internet coverage at spots near roadway and lastly no showers or restroom facilities. If there were facilities they were well hidden as we walked the entire property twice. Notice on door said new owners so hopefully they are able to rectify the issues and make improvements. On the plus side it was quiet despite being near a highway. read more

We are here 2 or 3 times a year, Ralph and Tiffany are some of the best hosts out of all the R V site's we have been to. Has the best bathrooms-showers out of all that we have seen, could live here. GREAT PLACE TO STAY. read more

Little Gem of an RV park! If you are tired of RV parks that look like an RV sales parking lot this one is for you! Pretty park-well kept and clean! They son't take reservations which is the only thing that is hard when you are traveling across country and not sure exactly where to go, but I'm glad we took the chance. Full hook ups -Oh and it fits big rigs too! Only stayed for one night but it was perfect! read more

Tiffany was the rudest lady I've ever spoken with on the phone. She's asked me questions she had no business asking tell me there was no place available there for me. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I've been to a lot of RV sites and this is the most pleasant experiences I've ever had. Firstly, the staff are some of the most friendly human beings you'll ever meet. Ralph was so friendly and accommodating to our special requests. On top of the super friendly staff, the RV park itself is very nice and well kept. The bathrooms and showers were super clean and the facilities had everything we needed. They even leant me some dish soap because we forgot it at the previous campsite we were at. The showers don't cost anything, the laundry was affordable ($1.50 per load and $1 for the dryer), and they have very affordable rates. We will definitely stay here again next time we pass through Mt Vernon. read more

Great little RV park. The lady that checked us in was very courteous. She showed us to our site and picked one that was extra large. The park is not very big, but it is clean, neat, convenient to the interstate. We will definitely stay here again if passing through this way in the future. read more

Friendly, well maintained park in an easy access location. Quiet yet close to shopping and a couple of truck stops. Ralph, the owner, helped us find a site that worked for our satellite TV and then helped us set up. Pet friendly and has an enclosed dog pen that is small but our 2 dogs enjoyed just getting off the leash for awhile. Sites are level and spacious but watch for the sewer hookup. It was a stretch for our hose in a 38' motorhome - but then my husband had to have the rig at the front of the site to get TV. :-) Would definitely go back. read more

We stopped in on our way home to Georgia, we paid $35.00 for one night.. I don't know if that's high or low for an overnight stay because we don't ever stop just for the night, this was our first time. The lady working was very nice, and I called 30 minutes before us being there and she was great about letting us stay without any notice. The bad: This was a VERY muddy park, we stayed in their "new sites" and I'm really shocked our camper didn't get stuck. Luckily we had muck boots but our clothes was covered in mud by time we parked and got inside... The spot was small, she said this was their bigger spots and we weren't able to get all of our slides out. It is in a good location close to town so that was nice, but we will by pass this place when traveling through Illinois again. read more

The manager, Tiffany, has to be the rudest customer person I've ever come across. Asked for help with the electrical hookup and she became beligerant with us. Made our stay uncomfortable to say the least...thumbs down!£ read more

Such pleasant people. WiFi was great. One of the ladies was so patient helping us get to our site. I highly recommend this park. Not fancy, but very clean. The price was good for an overnight stay with full hook ups on a pull thru. We paid $35.00 for the night for a 35 ft motor home with a towed. Will definitely stop here again. We can live without TV for the night. But we also have a satellite system installed in our motor home for our own convenience. We highly recommend this RV park. read more

New owners are doing a super job with this campground. Top notch, new bathrooms with great showers, as well as completely outfitted and comfortable activity room. Owners Tiffany and dad Ralph couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We would definitely stay there again. read more

Great place for a one-nighter. No frills, but if all you need is a nice place to stay, this is it. Staff is incredibly friendly and the rest rooms/showers are spotless. There is a bit of noise from the street and truck parking area next door, but not too bad. Propane available on-site and seemed just a bit pricey compared to other locations - but it is available there. $35/night might also be just a bit high for what you get, but again the place is nice. Convenient location to interstate and shopping. We would definitely stay there again when passing through. read more

Excellent RV Park. Bathrooms and showers are very clean. Great place to stay a few days if traveling across the country. Well located and far enough from the freeways so it is also quiet. Owners/staff are very nice and accommodating. WiFi works great. Site was level. Close to Walmart and a ton of restaurants and businesses. Very convenient. There are plenty of other RV Park owners that should come here and see how customer service should look. Definitely will be back. read more

We stopped by here in an RV with a band for a national tour. We were only here for 2 hours but had a great experience. My wife and I have been RV'ing for nearly 30 years. This is without a doubt the worst we have ever used. Under no circumstances would I ever return or recommend it to any of our friends. We made our reservations over 30 days ago. At the time we made them we indicated we required a southern exposure for some special satellite access. We also said if they couldn't do that simply tell us and we would go elsewhere...no harm no foul. They assured us they had no problem meeting our needs. We arrived and were put into one of the few sites that DIDN'T have a southern exposure. It became obvious we were 'bumped' to accommodate a big group that wanted to be together!! The site they put us in was half under water, the sewer wasn't even covered and the fresh water hose bib sat in a terracotta pipe covered with stale, dirty water. Totally unacceptable in any location! You have been warned. read more
