I do not recommend using this company! Rude employee and shoddy work. I contracted for a fence with green privacy screen. The fence was to be a 3 foot 'extension' of the current 6' to create a visual barrier between my house and the neighbor's deck. I walked the property and spoke extensively with the salesperson Chris. He explained there would need to be additional poles dropped and the 3' fence installed on the new poles and the green privacy screen attached to that. It was very clear what I wanted and what Chris understood, and what he wrote the contract for. However, it was relayed to me on more than one occasion that there was some type of miscommunication between Chris and the installers; something that I was not involved in, nor had control over. The green screen that was attached to the fence looks to be just a spare piece they had laying around and they cut, clearly not specifically ordered to fit the project. When I sent pictures to Angel (the recipient of an email sent to info@ucfence.com) and had a phone conversation with her asking if this was the quality of work that is acceptable, I was told that the screen doesn't come in that length (which isn't true, it just needs to be a custom order) and it was attached as necessary. She also said, "you contracted for green privacy screen, and that's what you got". While this is technically true, it looks like complete crap. I was offered a $150 discount, or they could just take it down. The $150 discount was only good for that day as the next person may not honor her very generous offer. Been researching the idea of having a new vinyl fence installed for a residential rental property in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca. I needed to find a good and reasonably priced solution since the current wooden fence was aging, weathered and leaning. One side portion already fell and I needed to take action. Was contemplating the idea of of a wrought iron fence, or complete brick or concrete but those were going to be much more expensive projects. I then received quotes from various contractors online and in the home remodel magazines that get mailed home. Then I decided to ask neighbors across the street and one very friendly neighbor recommended UC Fence. He even provided his original invoice and said to give them a try. The next day I called and was assigned by a helpful associate who scheduled an person to visit the property to provide an accurate estimate. The consultant accommodated my schedule of meeting me on a Sunday morning since I work six days. His name was Isreal and he was very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and patient. He used his special measuring tools and provided an estimate on the spot. He explained all the details and scope of the project, the materials the hardware and the turnaround time. After a little price comparison with other reputable specialists I still felt UC Fence was providing a fair deal and worked with my budget. It appears most the specialists carried their own version of a proprietary vinyl fencing and being UC Fence would warranty the fence from cracking, high winds, and color changes from the sun I decided to go with them. On the day of install, their installers brought all the materials, the measured and assembled them on site. They did not do any pre-fabricated work at their facility then perform the install. The main posts especially the ones securing the side gate were also case rocked into the ground making a very stable and secure install. There was even a small challenge that head to be felt with as the property had concrete / brick pillars every 12 feet or so and the bricks on top of the pillars was causing a 2-3 inch gap. Their installers accommodated the situation and shaved a portion from each side of the pillars to narrow the gaps and achieve a very clean look once installed. The neighbor residing behind the property line also had one vinyl fence section (portion) previously installed by UC fence as well. We happened to share one stretch of the fence line and he was nice enough to contribute to the cost of completing that fence line so both our property lines were sharing the same vinyl fencing installed by UC Fence. We chose their standard white fence and a wide size gate entry so our gardeners to go through when visiting with their tools. One thing I forgot to add is that the removal and haul away of the old wooden fence that was figured or included into the project! The fence was already held up very well for almost a year now. But I was informed our house was 18 inches higher than our neighbors? and there was no soil in between. so Jose who was foreman recommended drilling in concrete with rebar and love the results. I thought of this company again for three reasons. 1) the gate they put has never worked properly since day one, so I'm reminded of UC Fence's failure to perform often. 2) Chris still hasn't paid me the damage caused. 3) I've long noticed there was a wet spot near where they put a post in. For the last six years, I thought my neighbor was overirrigating. I recently had to remove a dying tree from that area and it turns the irrigation pipe was nicked at where they put a fence posts in. My guess is it was nicked by the post digger. Luckily the concrete they used to hold the post in place created a partial seal on the pipe. I had the North-side of my property fence replaced by UC Fence in Feb. 2023 so when I needed the South-side to be replaced in 2025, I called them, unfortunatey one of the workers dropped a white vinyl post tearing a recently replaced window screen and leaving a white mark on the glass window. Our fence blew down in the beginning of December and a friend recommended UC Fence to us. Eric was our sales guy and he was informative and nice. Unfortunately everything was backed up due to Covid so we weren't going to be able to get our fence installed until the first week of March. With pets and small children, it posed a bit of a challenge but we made due. The part we were not impressed with was the lack of communication. The supplies did not come in the first week of March and nobody bothered to call and let us know. My husband called to see what was going on and the girl informed him that we got pushed back to April. He asked why nobody called to let us know and all he got was a bothered "oh sorry". April rolled around and again we had to call and see what was going on and the girl told me "Oh they will be there tomorrow morning at 7:30am". Oh ok! Thanks for letting us know ahead of time so we could make arrangements! It sounds like we weren't satisfied and the question of why we are giving 4 stars is probably coming up by now. The 4 stars are solely for the 2 guys who came to install the fence. They showed up right at 7:30 as promised and were polite and professional. They walked me through every step that they were going to be doing to make sure we were on the same page and then they got right to work. I thought with only the two guys that it would take an extra long time. I was wrong! They were fast and efficient and done in a very timely manner. They cleaned up everything and even used a blower to clear any dirt debris. They did a beautiful job on our fence and we couldn't be happier. We are even considering using UC Fence to replace the fence on the other side of our yard (which it doesn't need to be replaced at this time) just because we know that the installers will do an excellent job. I called UC fence after a recent wind storm blew down my fence along with many others in city. Eric Prien came out to my house the next day and gave me a very reasonable quote. Because of the damage to so many other homes I expected a long wait for installation. I have a pool in my backyard and a dog so I needed the fence replaced right away. I was very surprised and pleased when Eric said they could do it the following Wednesday (this was on Thursday). On Friday afternoon I received a phone from the company asking if I would be available tomorrow (Saturday) for installation. After confirming I would be available the next day, Javier and his helper arrived in the morning and completed the install by 2 p.m. When I went outside to inspect the fence I couldn't believe what a great job Javier had done. The attention to detail was phenomenal and far exceeded my high expectations. Javier was extremely professional and thoroughly explained everything he had done. The area around the install is right next to my vegetable garden and was left in better shape then it was. A number of serious problems. They did one side of my fence a year ago with one of my neighbors and I would give them a b minus which was acceptable. Went to put a fence in on the other side and it has been a criminal disaster. They lied about when they would come out and never notified us. I was out of the area and they went ahead and trespassed and did the work anyway. Broke up my sprinkler pipes and didn't fix them. Got gravel into my pool which messed up my pool cleaner. Originally put The fence in 4 inches off and were going to cut my retaining wall. My wife came home and caught it and they moved it. But then put it in between 12 inches and 2 ft lower than the old offense was. I was out of town for 2 days and couldn't deal with it she had to miss work to deal with it. Was told that our opinion didn't matter even though I was the one that originally contacted them. They would just deal with my neighbor. Did three unauthorized charges against the credit card that I did not approve. Fence was left dirty and plastic crap was left everywhere. Broke down the post that held up my grapevines. I was first informed about this company because my neighbor wanted to use them since they were already approved by the homeowners association. This is the only positive thing I have to say about UC Fencing. I was on rounds in the medical ICU when the owner Jason informed me his workers broke the water main. His initial question is how am I going to fix this? Note not that he will fix this as it would come from his wallet. When speaking when the workers, they did mention this does occur quite often!! The workers at UC fence were very messy and did not pick up after their days of work. They are smokers who left their cigarette butts in the street. The workers do not wear masks, which is concerning because my parents are above 65 which puts them at a heightened risk for COVID-19. The workers do not sweep up throughout the day and after they finish. My father picked up 2 nails and I picked up 1 nail right in front of my garage. After they installed the fence, I messaged Jason (the owner) to see if he would fix the gate and the lock since it was already scratched up because they did not measure the gate distance to the lock/latch. I've had this fence for a little over a month (see attached pictures). He did not respond, I asked my brother to message him as well. A few days later, my brother called him and asked if he would give a discount on the remaining balance due. When informed $1,160 was due, we asked for a discounted price of $900 since the workers at UC fence broke my water main to which they were unable to properly fix and also the sprinkler riser. He countered w/ $960 and a good review. The water main to be repaired per the owners quote from a plumber would have been $500. That does not include that this is a late night emergency call - attached is a picture of the plumber I had sauder and properly fix the water main. The owner said they will fix the water main by the end of the day - see attached text message. Originally the owner had his employees try to fix the water main, see attached picture of their attempt to fix the water main with four 90 degree elbows to make a straight line. As this is the water source to the house and can/will most likely flood the foundation of the house, I do not believe crooked piping is appropriate for a water main (see attached photo where the copper and pvc are adjoined). Ultimately, I worked an 8 hour shift in the medical ICU dealing with COVID patients to a house that was without water for 24+ hrs as I did not deem his workers "attempt" at fixing the water main after failing for 6+ hours will hold up in the long run. My brother is a front line healthcare worker as well. Jason offered a discounted price of $960 with the stipulation of a good review, so that he can "make it up on the next customer." My neighbor was the one who called me and asked if I wanted an estimate from this fencing company so that we could all have matching vinyl fences. UC Fence contracted at least 8 fences at a MINIMUM of $1,300 per fence based on my fence which is probably the smallest fence this company installed. I am not sure how the owner calculates the cost but I believe he made his money on this job site. Also note that the yellow tape is not the proper tape for water, it is used for gas (see attached photos). Makes me wonder if they break gas lines as well or if his workers simply do not know what they are doing. The workers also broke a sprinkler riser so hard that it cracked at the T junction - see attached picture of the riser that was broken. I only found this out by my neighbor that noticed it when he was leaving for work at night. This was not even considered in the discounted price as I was caught off guard by his discounted price of $960 w/ a good review. Regardless, I paid in full the contracted price so I can write this review in my own unpaid/unaltered opinion. I fully do not recommend this company. If you use this company, I highly recommend you have a plumber, landscaper, gas person, tires on order & other services that are within 2 feet of the fence they will install. The workers do not care about your house and will install the fence as quickly as possible but at your expense - it's in their contract. It is very hard to find companies that stand behind their work and this is not one them. If you're smart enough to read this, please find another fencing company! Everything seemed professional ahead of installation, but unfortunately the execution during installation was poor quality. UC Fence did an onsite assessment and identified 4 ficus trees close to the fence that I would need to remove prior to installation. I ended up removing 7 ficus trees just to be safe. Unfortunately, one of the trees that they said was fine they severely damaged during installation. They made a straight cut through a major root exactly in line with a fence post, and months later during major rains, the tree fell over and nearly fell on top of my roof. Additionally, after getting a driveway gate installed, we realized how the fence was not correctly leveled. Our job consisted of replacing 250 linear feet of falling down wood fence with 3 adjoining neighbors, a somewhat tricky hardscape issue, and the need to contain high-jumping cats. Their Sales Manager, Eric Prien, did an admirable job coordinating things with our neighbors (even one we were having trouble getting on board) including getting their payments for their share of the job, and he also took good care of us throughout the process. His estimate was fair & quickly obtained and he followed up with us a number of times as we moved closer to starting the job. The installation crew was knowledgeable, friendly, capable, on time, and clean up was pretty good. UC Fence is fully insured for liability & W/C and have all the necessary licenses and bonding. As in life, not everything is perfect - and this is especially true when hiring contractors to do a job you care about being done right.
