Paid $200, waited three weeks, and they kept the part we paid for I took my phone to uBreakiFix in Lake Forest and paid $100, and they told me they couldn't fix it, not even temporarily. I came back with a second phone and asked them to move that screen over. Suddenly they could do a temporary fix after all, but they said they had to order a part and couldn't use the one I brought. I paid another $100. They said they'd call when the part arrived. They didn't. When I called a week later, the part still wasn't there, and they blamed the supplier and promised rush shipping. By the time it finally came in, nearly three weeks had gone by and I had to leave town. My husband went in to pick up the part so we could have it installed at another uBreakiFix in the city we're traveling to, where my computer is for the data transfer. They refused to hand it over and said we paid for "the service, not the part." What service? We paid $200, waited almost three weeks, and left with no repair and no part. Arrive after work at 3:45p for a 4:00pm pre-schedule appointment. One person in front of me getting helped until after 4:00pm. No problem I waited. Finally get seen, give my phone number and explain the issue (SD card read broke in SD card slot of a 2021 macbook pro. You'd think this be either a simple precision tweezer job OR bottom unscrew cover to pop out the broken sd card tray... Nope...front desk guy take the laptop in back from 10 minutes, I hear him correctly explaining the situation to the tech in back. When he comes back out he explains it's a complex issue that requires many parts removed....ummm ok... I ask him the cost....Well $400 but if I pay for their cancel any time $59 per month service plan it will only be $250 (or $309)..... For an SD card reader plastic to be removed....insane. I'll go buy precision tweezers or macbook pro bits and do the removal myself. I came in here expecting to drop $50-$100 at most but shocked to hear 4x that. read more

STAY AWAY! This was one of the worst customer experiences I've had in a long time. The employee at the front counter clearly did not know what he was talking about. Every question I asked required him to disappear into the back to ask someone else, and even then I received inconsistent answers. Instead of getting clear information, I got runaround after runaround. After reviewing my invoice, I believe I was overcharged for the service I received. Whether it was intentional or not, the pricing was not explained clearly, and I left feeling taken advantage of. To make matters worse, the store failed to return my power cord when I picked up my device. Rather than simply fixing their mistake, I was told to come back to the store a few days later because a manager "might" be there. I asked that the manager call me instead since this was their error--not mine. That call never came. I've already submitted a detailed survey to the company outlining everything that happened. If they choose to make it right, I'll gladly update this review. Until then, my advice is simple: take your business somewhere else. uBreakiFix (by Asurion) told me I should buy the Asurion home protection plan and it would cover my laptop if they were unable to repair it. Turns out this was 100% false and Asurion repeatedly denied my claim citing "pre-existing condition". I did exactly what I was told and this scam program stuck it to me. Stuck on a merry-go-round for several months and no working laptop, I ended up canceling the plan and demanding a refund for the months they had charged me while giving me the run around! Negative stars if I could!!! This place is such a SCAM! I've spent the last 5 days submitting and resubmitting claims to get my computer fixed and they keep getting denied for the most ridiculous reasons saying the information dosen't match, or they don't cover laptops (which they do). I've submitted 7 times having to call each time to figure out why, only to have it denied AGAIN! It's such a waste of time, keep in mind you have to confirm your identity and fill out a form and send a bunch of pictures EACH time! I'm amazed this place has so many positive reviews.... read more

For the most part this place did a great job. I have a Z flip 5 and the screen protector was slipping off. I already brought the phone to the San Clemente location and they really did not know what they were doing down there. This place looked it up and the San Clemente location was slipping important steps when applying the protector. Avoid the San Clemente location! But this location in Lake Forest did things right and by the book. I had it replaced about a month ago now and it's holding up great! And not only that, but they typically charge less than the San Clemente location. Also they did my repair for free as it was still in the warranty period. The reason I am giving the place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the lady with the nose ring who works the front desk. She is in a word: awful. They need to get rid of her and I'm not the first reviewer to say so. She's abrasive, has zero customer service skills, and really doesn't seem happy with her job. The best thing she did for me was get her manager and he took care of things from then on. read more

This location is a "Certified Samsung Technician" and is advertised to fix Samsung phone screens in 2 hours or less. After cracking my phone screen, I was elated to find someplace to fix it so quickly, and booked an appointment directly from Samsung's website for the next day at 10:30am. I showed up early, and was told they didn't have my phone's color in stock and that it would take 3 hours (in both cases: good enough for me!) and to come pick up my phone after 1pm. Here's the problem: when I drove back (at 2pm), I was told the phone wasn't ready. In fact, they hadn't even started working on it. Not only that, but it wouldn't be ready for another hour at least. Furthermore, the price was $150 MORE expensive than the advertised price on Samsung's website. Overall... this was drastically more expensive and time consuming than advertised, even with a scheduled appointment. Also: they bribe their customers for 5-star reviews by offering a free screen protector. Very dishonest. read more

I recently went to another ubreakifix location and I realized something very unsettling. The other location never made me give them my password and access to everything inside my phone including my messages and photos. I remember a year or two ago I came to this location and not only did they say it take 4-6hours ( other location was 2-3hours and more clients coming in and out) but they also made me give them my password. This location in el toro oddly enough made me give them access to everything inside my phone AND it would also take twice as long. Kinda suspicious... now that I know all locations don't make you give them that sensitive information and just have you enter the code when you pick up the device and they show you they only go into the settings for the screen update. I'd bet a lot of money on those guys behind the walls doing the repairs going through everyone's phones. Hopefully not sending any of the things in the clients phones to themselves... read more

When I dropped off the PS5 controller to get checked for a drifting analog stick I was quoted $30 to clean the controller in hopes that it would fix the problem. The second step was to replace the analog stick that would cost an additional $79. The cost to buy a new controller is $60. Why would you charge more than the cost to replace an item. The service was also terrible. I dropped it off on a Saturday morning. I was supposed to receive a call within 2 hours. I didn't receive a call that day. I tried to call that afternoon l, but no answer. They are closed on Sunday. So I called again Monday afternoon and my call went unanswered again. So I drove there to get a status on the controller. When I got to the store the door was propped open, lights were off, and no one was manning the front desk. I had to yell for someone to acknowledge I was there. The person that came out was not in a uniform. They came out in a dirty shirt, gym shorts and flip flops. I further found out that my device hadn't even been touched since I dropped it off. read more

To make matters worse, not only did I endure the frustration of dealing with a malfunctioning device, but I also discovered that vital files stored on the device were inaccessible due to their mishandling of the repair process. The loss of these files has had a significant impact on my work and personal life, further highlighting the extent of their negligence and incompetence. In light of these egregious shortcomings, I cannot in good conscience recommend Computer Place Ubreakifix to anyone seeking reliable and competent repair services. My experience serves as a cautionary tale against entrusting them with valuable devices and personal data. my experience with Computer Place Ubreakifix and Asurion was characterized by incompetence, poor workmanship, and a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. I would caution anyone considering their services to proceed with extreme caution or, better yet, seek alternative options. I had a broken screen on my phone and Josh(?) and the folks at this store fixed it in less than 1 hour after quoting 2 hours but I do believe that some of their practices are a tad questionable. Allow me to explain... I only had a broken front screen however was told that per Samsungs policy they were required to replace the back of the phone too a $140 charge (but wait there's more)... if I signed up for a $25 a month fixit program I could get the unbroken back replaced for free. Just seems a little shady to be a store that has to replace something that isn't broken especially for a phone that I told them was just going to be returned to the nearby Verizon store as a trade in. The fact that in this day and age they would pull some scheme like that is beyond me. I am only giving it two stars because the person who replaced the screen did so in a very timely manner and was probably just parroting some backwards company policy while being monitored by HQ. I'd give the employees 5 stars for fixing the screen quickly but the company they work for shouldn't try to have customers pay for something that doesn't need to be fixed - plain and simple. read more

Absolutely horrible, broke my Xbox series x and provided no compensation. Workers were super rude and disrespectful. Will never ever return this place is absolutely the worst place for a repair. Simple fix takes days and they lie and say it'll be quicker. Scam company and corporate greed, no intention of giving you quick and supportive service. They didn't have the black one in stock, so they couldn't replace it and couldn't order it from Samsung as well. They offered if I either wanted the pink or white cover instead.... I declined!!! I asked him what other options I had, and they said I needed to check in with them next week to see if it's in stock. They didn't offer any other resolution. Horrible customer service!!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I made an appointment with Verizon a week in advance because my it wasn't keeping a charge long enough. The only female who helped me sent me away because she couldn't find my order. It took quite some time to convince her otherwise and to get the manager out to finally find it. When i returned after 3 hours the not only couldn't fix it but they damaged it more because the screen went blank. and told me I'll receive a replacement the following day via UPS. I didn't get the delivery and called then to ask if they can give me a tracking number. They said it's not their responsibility and to call my carrier so I did and was told by Verizon that Asurion never put an order in and I had to start all over again. What a waste day! They made so many careless mistakes and the female at the desk could care less about me. I watched her treat a mom and her little girl (who couldn't speak English) poorly. She basically didn't care about helping her with her cracked screen and sent her out the door with not a care at all. I've been without a phone for 2 days now and my sibling is in the hospital and I have no way to communicate with my family nor the doctors. I went in to get a free screen protector thru the samsung warranty for my samsung flip 6 and was assited by Carlos. Carlos confirmed the warranty was still in effect and said to return in 6 hours to pick up my phone. When I returned I waited an additional hour and Carlos assisted another customer that arrived after me. When he returned my phone the screen protector had some blemishes after it was replaced and he stated he could only try once more but could not guarantee he would do any better. Carlos then tried to charge me for the screen protector and I had to remind him I should not be charged. He asked for my phone back stating he needed to follow up with samsung before he could release the phone to me. I waited another 15 min until he returned my phone. Carlos did not have the common curtousey to take my phone out of maintenance mode when he handed it back to me, I did not realize this until I got home. While I understand he was the only tech there with trainees, I can see why there is such a high turn over at this location based on my experience today. read more

He indicated that he had to close the ticket without explanation why. Brushed me off saying he had another person waiting behind me. Told me to contact Samsung for a replacement. Rude and unprofessional. Samsung should not be using them as an authorized service Center. Will need to go through Samsung to get a new phone since their authorized service Center will not honor their ticket to fix it. read more
