TERRIBLE... order through any other service that there is. A complete rip off. My wife ordered our dinner from Uber Eats. She specified 6:15 delivery time and pre-paid including a generous tip. We waited until 6:25 and still no delivery, no call, no anything. We called the restaurant that we ordered from and they had no record of our name, or a Uber Eats order for that matter. So basically, they took our money and then said F'off... And I say F'off to Uber Eats. We are calling American Express to reverse the charge and we will never order from these ass-wipes ever again. read more

I have two recent bad experiences with Uber. This past December 12, 2020 I had scheduled an early pick up and had received a confirmation email for the requested time. No driver showed up but I was charged for the ride. I tried contacting Uber and got the run around. Uber responded that I had a ride on November 22 and they were not going to refund. The ride in November was a trip to the airport where Uber was late and I missed my flight. So long Uber, not again! read more

Never had lower rates available (e.g., UberX or UberXL). In fact, ALWAYS notified that rate would be 2.4X or 3.2X the usual rate! Once the app displayed this was "to keep drivers on Uber". I spoke to a cab driver later in my stay. He said that he thinks the Uber drivers only want to pick up "drunks" late at night to make money. Bottom line, I was able to find 1 Uber drive at UberX or UberXL rates while in town over a weekend. Not good! read more

There's no customer service to speak to you get rerouted to emails my account had been hacked the person change my email address and my passcode therefore I cannot get into it and I cannot get any help! They really need to rethink how they help the general public and not always having to do stuff via email. read more

I'm not sure if other people who were interested in driving for Uber had the same issue as me, but I did all of the paperwork, had my car checked, and even submitted my background check to them over 2 months ago to drive in the San Luis Obispo area. I have been in several email communications (Nope, they have no phone number because they do not want to be bothered) with them (probably people out of India) regarding my status. First, they kept telling me that I have not submitted my background check, even though I had already received my copy for the 3rd party service they use, CheckR. I went as far as to contact CheckR, who claimed that they had already submitted it to Uber and the problem was on their end. They were kind enough to email Uber with my issues. Then, Uber responded back that they were having technical difficulties with my application and that "Rest assured we will get it handled immediately and get you driving".....That was about 3 weeks ago. I tried emailing them a couple of days ago and still have not had a response. At this point I am more concerned with Where my Background check went, Which employee in their office has it, and at What point will my identity be threatened since they have basically lost it. read more

UGH! I freaking HATE Uber. Seriously. For months now, I've been trying to get two separate problems resolved. I've tried calling, but they don't accept calls. So I've emailed on several occasions. IF you get a response, it's an auto scripted response. Four times now I've replied stating that my issue was NOT resolved, and explained why (and that their scripted and identical responses were not relevant to my issue). Nothing more than the exact same response. I also received an egift in November. I entered the gift card number into my app. I got a message stating it was uploaded successfully, but the amount never credited to my account nor showed in app. When I attempted to reenter card number, I got an error message saying it had already been redeemed. Same thing...contacted via email since that's my only option, and nothing. You guys suck. And you're thieves. Give me my money, dammit. That was MY birthday gift, not YOURS! Never using uber again, except for my gift, which they better credit to my account soon. read more

Unprofessional drivers who have no clue and are not even from this area. No customer service to speak of. I used Uber when I was up in the Bay Area and had no problem, but when in Paso Robles and SLO I am told it is best to use the local transportation companies. read more

I'm asking all my friends to #boycottUber and only use Lyft. Friday night I got a request for a guy named Joshua at the casino. I called to let him know I had a support dog and asked if there were any allergies. He was very rude and demanded that I just get there now. I politely said I just dropped off my last fare and I'm on my way. I arrived to a barrage of insults and and demands . I informed him that I didn't have to take him anywhere and said yes I did. I told him to get out. He continued to bark a mouthful of insults and threatened me that "I don't understand how this works." At the time I thought it was an odd threat at the time‍. He finally backed out. I canceled the ride and chose the rider behavior option. I drove off to continue my shift. Not 30 seconds later I was paired with him again . I was shocked, I couldn't believe Uber would pair me with a rider I declined because of bad behavior. I canceled the ride, which affects my percentage and bottom line, not his. I started to call Uber and shockingly enough they paired us again . I informed Uber of everything that happened and went about my evening. At 2:00am I got a notification that my Uber account was shut down and I needed to contact Uber. I read my messages and it said someone had reported me for being under the influence. I was stunned . But, I was sure I could clear this up and I knew now what Joshua meant by "I didn't understand how this works." I called and explained what he was doing and that I was over 3 years sober and infact had a cop friend sitting not 100 feet from me that I could get a breathalyzer test from to proove it. They declined immediately and said their investigation team would be reaching out to me in 4-8 hours . I said this is unbelievable, why is your system set up so I can be attacked and now a small, petty, angry, abusive MAN is allowed to make false allegations against a driver with a 5 star rating and compliments from just about every passenger I've had? They said that's their protocol. I informed them that they needed to change their protocol and protect their valued highly rated drivers and not angry, vindictive sociopaths. I then asked to know exactly what their investigation included and they told me they couldn't tell me. Another thing, when they shut down the account they also shut down access to the money you've already earned for the night . #boycottUber read more

I was with my son-in-law on NYE. We took Uber from our hotel to the restaurant around 800 pm at night. The total cost was $5. It was great service, driver was polite. We requested Uber sometime after midnight to get to our hotel and the cost was $118!!! My son-in-law got a complicated quote that said the price would be more but it did not say the actual price. We never suspected it would go from $5.00 to $118! Uber took advantage of people that night who were trying to do the responsible thing and NOT drive. We are Uber users and this type of customer service is awful! read more

Uber in San Luis Obispo is a rough work in progress! We try to use your service on a weekly basis and every time it gives the drive our wrong location. We end up dealing with 3-4 drivers before someone is able to locate us. I was using Uber in San Diego for a long time with no problem. I am so disappointed with the accuracy and service here. I have tired to contact the company however there is no phone number available, I have to wait for a generic email response. We took uber out to see Chicago at Vina Robles. Perfect going out. Left the concert 30min early as instructed by our Uber driver to the concert to get a ride back and had the return driver cancel on us less than 1 min from picking us up at the event. We spent 90 min trying to get a ride back to our motel and were very lucky to get one. Moral of the story. Don't take uber to or from Vina Robles. You may be sleeping out there. read more

This overall rating is just undeserved. Regarding cost, I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about...the app shows you how much it will cost before you even confirm your pick-up request. Also, if you get a large vehicle through Uber, you're GOING to pay more! Furthermore, if you are complaining about "having" to give directions I just know it's only because you're rude and being a back seat driver. I've experienced fellow riders like you. I LOVE them. I get to have a car there to pick my drunk, annoying and needy butt up in MINUTES rather than waiting forever for a taxi and ending up with some creepy dude that doesn't speak English that actually charges more. Furthermore, "adults" my age will sooner risk driving drunk than getting a taxi. Sorry, it's the hard truth. Even my best friend will use her app to shove my butt in a car alone with someone who went through a series of tests and background checks that gets me home safely from girls' night. So I will take it upon myself to say "you're welcome" on Uber's behalf to you and your loved ones for creating a millennial-luring invention to keep potential unintended murderers off the roads. My fiance and I have always gotten super awesome drivers with Uber and though some have not smelled brand freaking new I could tell they went through a lot to make sure their ride was as clean as it could be and they've all been extremely kind people. Screw taxis. I will continue to make the smart decision of even just paying $8-9 to get responsibly to the other side of SLO and I will continue to support these drivers who are staying up late and/or simply dealing with self entitled, rude, messy, obnoxious people one after the other creating wear and tear on their own personal vehicle for the sake of making an extra buck to live in a town where the struggle is simply freaking real. We requested an uber from San Luis Obispo to Creston for a wedding at 3:00 in the afternoon. The 1.5X came up. At 3:00???? Anyway we needed the ride. It cost $130. I still have not received a notice of confirmation on the cost. Just a text that you can only view once?? Our ride home was only $65. What happened to the 1.5X. Probably not ever to use uber again.
