My husband and I just got off our delayed train around 10 pm and called this company because it said 24/7. The guy said to call yellow cab. Talk about a load of crap. Today around 1:00 PM I was silently praying with others this Lenten Season in front of the Planned Parenthood office at 743 Pismo Street in SLO. Along came a Surf Cab car with no passenger, just the driver. As he drove past he screamed "GET A (coat) HANGAR!" in reference to abortion. That's despicable behavior. Driver Dan is My Favorite Driver in All Of SLO! Super Cool Guy! I call him to drive me to doctor's appt's and such. Or just when I need a driver for errands. Or when I start exploring and run out of energy and can't make it back home! Hey, you'll get there some day! Always laid back yet very responsible and 100% sober and sane. He NEVER drinks and drives. Called for a fare estimate and was treated really rudely. Nevermind! This is the perfect example of why cab companies need to pull their head out and provide better service. It should be a considered a reasonable request to get an accurate fare and wait time estimate instead of being treated like I'm an annoyance for requesting this information in advance. This is standard information that every customer should have a right to know. I'd rather pay a few extra dollars to a company like Uber (even though they have their issues as well) for an up front fare and arrival time estimate, as well as MUCH faster service. read more

Good first trip he pick me up on time took me from San Luis Obispo to Los Osos and we talked the whole way I definitely use then again.

I arranged an early morning ride to the airport for a colleague. Jeremy at Surf Cab Co. took the information and provided his cell phone number. On the day of the arranged ride, my colleague called me in a panic at 4 a.m. because the driver didn't show up and the cell phone number went straight to voicemail. Awful! Driver Dan is the best. At first he wound up taking me to the wrong address. ...Or rather, it was the correct address but I had told him the wrong city. However, instead of blaming me for the mistake, Dan apologized for the confusing addresses in the nearby cities, worked patiently with me to locate the correct destination, and then took the miles off the meter for the earlier misunderstanding! Bizarre experience with calling to make a reservation... I called to make a reservation a few days in advance, gave them my address & the time and we seemed good to go. He said they would be there at the time I specified. Then, just so I could have cash prepared, I asked "do you have a fare estimate to get to the SLO Amtrak station?" He starts off by throwing out an estimate, but then all of the sudden he says he appreciates my concern, but that I should try calling SLO yellow cab because the fare is cheaper for them. He didn't even give me a chance to accept his estimate (it was cheap enough for me). It kind of threw me so I was like "um... ok? So... no reservation?" but then he keeps telling me I should try calling SLO yellow cab (which I would rather not take cause I've heard rather horrible things about them). But he made me feel like maybe they wouldn't get enough money from picking me up or something? Like the few miles I needed to get driven weren't worth their time / service? So I just gave up and I guess I'm going with Uber. read more

These people saved me when I had my car towed unexpectedly (and not very nicely) while I was at work - and had my wallet stuck in my car. I was treated with nothing but respect and kindness. Michael my driver was so kind - not just polite - but going out of his way kind in a time that was somewhat stressful for me. I would store their number in your phone if you live in SLO. read more

I mean...it was alright. Pleasurable conversation with my driver, and he was on time. But the meter starts at 4 dollars, and when I called to get an estimate, they said it was $2.50 a mile. It is cheaper than the other cab company in SLO, but they charged me 20 bucks for 8 miles. So, I think their is little truth to their "estimate, and the car smelled like smoke. read more

My son-in-law recommended Surf and driver Dan, and he was right. Dan was right outside the airport exactly on time, he knew where he was going, and the fare was reasonable. So what if the car isn't brand new! It didn't matter to me. I was more interested in a speedy but safe trip. Jeremy came all the way from Morro Bay to get me early in the morning and was punctual and friendly for the drive to the airport. The car was clean (I've definitely been in Surf Cabs that weren't). I was glad to be able to schedule something in advance (which I did the night before). It seems like it's best to contact individual drivers if you have their number. read more

Is there an option for 0 stars? I wish there was. I don't know what the reviews beyond 1 star dealt with, but it's not this service. Jeremy nearly cost us a very expensive trip to Japan and he STILL cost us a parking fee because he forgot completely about us! We'd made arrangements for Jeremy to pick us up at 5:30 AM so we could catch our flight at 6:45. We only live a short ways from the airport and figured this would be fine since we didn't want to leave our car. At first Jeremy seemed very thoughtful and responsible and he even called us the night before to confirm our address, destination and time. Fast forward to the next day, we're waiting for Jeremy and he doesn't show up. My dad calls him 10 minutes later. Jeremy doesn't even have us on his list or know who we are. When we remind him he asks "going to AG right?" No...wrong. Next question, where is he now? On his way to Morro Bay, 20 minutes from us. He say's he'll turn right around. We're furious. We might miss our plane now. We immediately hang up and drive to the airport. What could have been a 5 minute 20 dollar ride in a taxi turns into a 5 minute 150 dollar parking fee and we only JUST caught our plane due to the crowds that morning. Furthermore, when we came back, our flight was delayed and we JUST missed having a further fine on the car as a result. Bottom line, don't trust Surf Cab. Don't use it. If our experience was any indication, and upon reading other reviews, this company needs a major overhaul before they can take anyone by taxi in San Luis obispo. read more

7.5 miles cost me $34 tip included, that's expensive. The driver was fine, he was nice, it's just the meter was already at $4 when I got in, and I kept watching that price climb as we drove back. I'm definitely not doing that again read more

Got abandoned by 234 Taxi tonite so called Dan at Surf Cab. He was on time and saved me a 4 mile walk to campus at 7pm.
