My Uber pool today was very disappointing. Even worse was the company response when I shared my experience. They didn't care that I was en route for over an hour for a trip which should take 15 minutes. The long timing was caused by the Uber app adding 2 pickups and 2 drop-offs to my trip. Nor did they care that their app gave a "latest arrival" time, and I arrived 17 minutes later than that. Their response was "sorry to hear" and "we are confident next time will be better". Forget about a "next time". If they take the initiative to provide me with a "latest time" and they don't stand behind that number, I will switch back to normal taxis, which in my area are cheaper than UberX. They give you that "latest time" to "sell" you on their service, make bigger profits by sending you to FOUR detour locations and then take no responsibility whatsoever for the delay. Uber in France is simply wonderful! Our hotel is near the Airport - $15 EURO to downtown Paris. I was nervous when arriving and checked the app to see if we have service. No issues with Language Barrier as you input the location and see the price before arrival. Highly recommend over Taxi service. read more

When reaching the destination the driver asked to exit quickly because of incoming traffic, as a result I left my sunglasses in the back seat. The next Uber driver said don't worry Monsieur..just go the app and you will be able to talk to the driver and he will return them... I have tried 5 times over the past 48 hrs to contact the driver unsuccessfully, no answer , full voicemail! I haven't heard fro UBER either and I am leaving back to the USA on Thursday. I have used Uber throughout Europe and Americas. Typically with no issues. In Paris (la defense area), it has been near impossible to get an uber who doesn't cancel at the last moment, over and over again. Very unreliable. Outside of the la defense area, I have had little to no problem (and they take me back to my hotel in la defense), but getting one to pick me up in this financial district has not been successful. If staying at a hotel, best to arrange a taxi ( if paying credit or American Express, make sure to tell your front desk to arrange taxi that takes this). read more

While in Paris, we decided to try Uber for the very frist time. I had heard a lot of good recomendations, but also a few negative reviews. We tried it the last day of our visit, when we where leaving Paris. Sunday 11 AM, I startes ordering. The cheapest and most popular service, uberPOP, was unavailable (this type of cars would've cost us only 30€!). Changing to uberX, the estimated time of arrival at our location, dropped from 20 to 8 minutes. Straight after requesting a car, a driver accepted and was hedding our way. The driver was on time, nicely dressed and had a clean and elegante Citroën C6. He behaved just like a driver should do. When we arrived at Charles de Gaulle airport the first day of our visit, we used an ordinary and local taxi-service, which costed 59,10€. The final price using Uber was 45€, and with the startup bonus we only paid 35€ from Paris centrum to the airport. Fantastic! The price was estimated in advance, and we recived a digital receipt on e-mail after the trip. After each trip, you can rate your driver an the driver can rate you. This gives future costumers/driver reliance to the service. If you're in a larger city, which Uber is supported, you should absolutely try it! read more

In the USA I use Lyft, but Lyft basically does not exist in Paris or London. After getting off the Eurostar train in Gare du Norde, we went to the taxi queue outside the building. With a family of 4 and some luggage plus carry-on bags, the queue director waived down a minivan for us. You'd think it's legitimate and going to be fair. This is where we should have told him to move along when his computer was not on. We got to our destination (.3 KM away, enough to make it more work than we wanted with kids and luggage). Our driver charged us the flat rate for a trip from the airport, 75 Euro. Yes, 75 Euro for going about 1/4 of a mile. I patted him on the back and said "it's okay". I wanted to punch him in the face and key his car, I had about 100 lbs of size on the little discotheque playing punk. After that we made sure we had the Uber app and paid our cell provider a bit extra for high speed Internet in Europe. So far every Uber driver in Paris and London has been amazing and you don't get over charged. I don't use taxis in my own city of Seattle, not sure whey I thought Paris would be a good place for them either. read more

We ordered an Uber to go from Charles de Gaulle to Beauvais airport, the app said price will be given once we are matched with the driver, it was never given! The driver was sent, but in the 4 minutes he was arriving I asked I asked several times for the fare amount but never received it. When I was quoted 105 euros --the double amount I was expecting (based on the previous ride of 1 hour that cost 54 euros) I cancelled the ride. Uber charged me three times a cancellation fee and the system never gave a price. This is unheard of! On the last trip in Paris you quoted a price but was billed 20-25% more. I find Uber in Paris unethical, this is fraud. I will not use Uber again. read more

I stayed in Paris in an apartment in the city center. Needed transportation to the airport this morning for myself and my parents. We had American sized luggage. All the other companies we booked. I found an uber van, who arrived within 5 minutes of my booking. The driver was awesome! He helped with the luggage and took us to two terminals at CDG. Great experience- highly recommend. read more

I LOVE Uber all over the world! Here's a tip in Paris: From CDG airport, make your way to Terminal 3 and cross the short street to Citizen M (grabbing a cool sammie at the Deli on teh way out) and call Uber from there. You can also use their free computers and printers. If you arrive in the morning, enjoy the fabulous breakfast buffet and pack your pockets for the rest of your journey. Have an Uber time!! I used Uber exclusively as my means for transportation and it was far and away the best Uber experience I have ever been part of. I'm sure I used Uber 20 times during my 1 week stay in Paris and every single car was super clean and very well kept. I use Uber a lot back home in Austin, TX, but it does not even compare to Uber in Paris. The cars are in way better condition, complimentary water in every car, etc, etc. What Uber has done in Paris needs to be emulated more broadly. read more

Arranged for an UBER to go from the Marais area to CDG... the high end of the quote was 57 euros but they ended up charging me 106 euros. There is no delays during the trip no traffic we were there in 40 minutes. Of course there's no one that you can easily talk to you about this situation. We definitely not recommend Uber read more

There are lots of Uber drivers in Paris. The time we stayed in Paris was mid June, 2016. It's not a good idea but we use airport wifi to request our first Uber since we have no cell phone data. ( Note, it's really not a good idea because it's easy to lost signal by the pick up door.) It cost us 35 euros from airport to Opera area. Our Uber driver has a really nice BMW. We have really good Uber experience in Paris. read more

Uber in Paris was amazing. We didn't want to schlep our bags through the Marais to the taxi area to go the Gare de Lyon and catch the TGV. Requested an Uber pickup. We used Uber when we first arrived in Paris by train and it worked great, 14 euros from Paris Nord Train Station (Gare du Nord) to Latin Quarter - 5th. However, on the Monday morning that we had to get to the airport (Charles de Gaulle airport) which was rush hour and also raining heavily their prices jumped from 50 Euros to over 100 Euros. I was shocked! I've never seen this happen before. Wonder if anyone else had this experience. read more

I heart Paris Uber! Paris Uber is on a whole other level than Uber in the States. These guys come dressed to the 9's, in nice clean and fully stocked cars, and they are always very polite. It's more like a limo service. Totally different experience than the States. Don't be afraid to use them if you don't speak French. Doesn't matter. read more

Uber in Paris is a complete mess, I have used uber in many other cities but in Paris they are awful. I booked a taxi near Le Defense to go to an office a few miles away and the drive got lost and we spent an hour trying to find it, Then when I was going to airport I booked a cab and watched for 30 mins as the car supposedly made its way to my location. At the last minute the driver canceled. Tried again and the same thing happened. Tried to call both drivers and got voice mail. Asked at the front desk and a great driver from another service arrived in 5 mins and we made it on time to the airport. The uber drivers do NOT know the city at all. read more

I was a little leery using Uber in Paris. But I read reviews on Yelp and it seemed reliable and reasonable. Plus my luggage weighed a ton after a week traveling and trying to get from my hotel to Gare de Lyon would take 2 different lines so I thought it was worth the expense over the metro. Wow, very impressive. I just used my app, selected my location and where I wanted to go and a message that the car, a VW passat would be there in 4 minutes. He was there in 2 minutes! Avoid Uber. Nothing like in the states. Four times, I had Uber drivers cancel on a pick-up spot because it was too crowded. I can understand a driver not wanting to have a non-profitable fare, but then every time, they charged me a $6 cancellation fee. That is not at all right. Avoid. I was satisfied with uber until our driver made our trip two times longer: apparently it's necessary to go from the north of Paris to the south west it's necessary to go through the north east. Use all the time home in NYC and wasn't sure what I would get in Paris. Even better. UberX has been awesome on my vacation in Paris with my family. Don't have to worry does the taxi take credit card or not - just find a good location for pickup, call the car and voila - awesome ride back to our place. Uber drivers at Gare du Nord train station (Paris), ripping people off big time. Do not accept ANY offers of transportation. Stick with queue for taxis. They will tell you that the queue is just for airport. Unfortunately our first experience in France and with Uber were very negative. Beware of dishonest people here. Never use Uber again. read more
