Batobus offers some of the lowest prices of any of the tourist excursions. And you get what you pay for. They're quite clear about the lack of amenities-boats without restrooms or snacks. But I did expect some engaged guides telling us what we were seeing along the banks. Instead, we get a "train conductor " announcing "next stop." Okay, I have used Batobus on many occasions over the years, and it is great! It's always nice to be on the water, and the ability to hop on and hop off is fantastic. However, on my most recent trip to Paris, they were having a heatwave, so I thought it would be great to get on the boat, on the water and the cool breeze. While it was not Batobus' fault, the fact that they have plexiglass on the boat removes the cool breeze, unless you can get to the front of along the side at the back of the boat. If you want to get away from the heat-I do not suggest Batobus, but any other time, it's always been a wonderful experience. read more

This is a great way to have this perspective without the noisy touristy narration that you get on the bateau mouches. They ran right on time. Service is very bad here. Me and my mom purchase tickets and unfortunately there is no thing such a 1 ride, because whole system is hop on and off and you have to buy 1 day pass minimum. The ride was good the only thing I had problem with their vending machine. I went to buy water as soon as we hop on and vending machine ate my 2 euro and didn't gave any water. It looks it was broken because other people had same issue before me. I went to the staff and they refused to help said I have to call number on vending machine. Instead of having pleasant ride we were trying to call this number by the way which was wrong. I came back to staff and she told me to dial in front of me and of course number didn't work when she tried either. They said I have to write a letter to this company?! to get my money back. As a tourist I wouldn't spend my time to deal with that. Just warm you don't buy from their vending machine since it's not properly operated and maintained. We arrived early today and walked to the Eiffel Tower to get that major site seeing in early. As we walked past the tower, we saw that there were river 'cruises' and it sparked an interest in us. We just got off a 7hr flight and dropped our bags at the hotel, so we decided it was best to hop on the BatoBus instead of walking from one destination to another. The second we got on the Batobus we were so relieved because it was nice and warm compared to the outdoors! We loved that the boat is covered and doesn't have open space for excessive wind (which might be nice in the summer). We got off and came on to the BatoBus without any issues, but the timing isn't 100% consistent. When we bought the tickets, we were told the boat came every 30 minutes but we waited about an hour for our first ride. This wasn't a huge deal to us, but to some it might be if they're on a time crunch. We really loved the 24hr ticket and used it all day to conveniently go from one sight to another without tired and exhausted legs! We both agree this is the best decision we made when coming to Paris on our first day. (We came in March, which is probably more offseason) I would definitely do this again if I come back here and would recommend it to others as well. read more

Nice idea, but some of their staff is rude as hell. Fabrice, for example, is condescending, a bully, and particularly mean to small children. To provide details, we have an autistic son who has a stroller with all of his comfort items, etc. For the last three years, we've brought it. Never a problem. But we get on and Fabrice says no, it has to go on the front. I start to explain it's never been a problem before in the last three years, and he cuts me of and says "in fact it's us that makes the rules." Then I'm scanning 5 tickets and of course it takes a little longer. Fabrice pushes in and says "let me give you an example of how to scan things." Look Fabrice, if you hate your job so much, maybe consider working security at a mall? That may give you the low grade power over others you crave. read more

We wanted to take a quick tour of the city from the Seine but didn't want a guided tour. We had done the dinner cruise last year and wanted to do something less formal. This boat fit the bill. We were able to get right on as they run about 20 minutes per station. We bought a paper ticket at a kiosk at the D'orsay stop. The lady in front of us obviously bought her ticket online as she had a barcode on her phone You board and scan your bar code or e ticket on the boat. It did appear that some of the stations did not have a person to buy a ticket at a kiosk but all of the validation occurred on the boat. So you can either get an eTicket or a paper ticket and ride all day until about 7 PM. Our cost was $20 per person which we thought was reasonable given a one hour guided tour was about half that. We rode the full loop and got off two stops after our original boarding. Really great views of the Eiffel tower from docking at that port. read more

We loved it! After a really bad experience with Tootbus we tried Batobus and were thrilled! It was much cooler than being stuck on a hit bus and a wonderful way to see all of the sights. Our guide, Julien, was delightful. You can't beat the price either. The stop we needed was tricky to find so I hope they improve on that in the future. read more

The Batobus is essentially the water taxi/bus service on the Seine River. Other than walking, this was our primary transportation while in Paris. The cool thing about the Batobus is that you can "hop on-hop off" as many times as you want during the course of a day. Its a very easy, convenient and laid-back way to visit the most popular Paris attractions. There are 8 stops the Batobus makes: 1) Eiffel Tower 2) Musee d'Orsay 3) Saint-Germain-des-Pres 4) Notre Dame 5) Jardin des Plantes 6) Hotel de Ville 7) Louvre Museum 8) Champs-Elysees We traveled during the weekdays, so the lines were short and the boats were never crowded. Boats arrive approximately ever 25 minutes or so and they didn't take much time getting passengers on/off quickly. FYI, the top of the boat is enclosed in glass, which is helpful during rainy days (like we experienced), but gets pretty warm inside. There is no 2nd level seating like some boat tours you might imagine. Also, its worth noting the Batobus is not a tour of the Paris sites, so if you're looking for information about the various points of interest--you will not get that here. There are no restrooms on the boat, though there is a basic vending machine with drinks/snacks. The staff was nice and regularly went down the aisles to remove trash and debris left by passengers. From a cost perspective, the tickets are relatively inexpensive at 17€ for a full day pass (8€ for children 3-15 years old). They offer a value pass at 19€ for 2 consecutive days (10€ for children). NOTE: if you purchase the online vouchers, you MUST exchange for the actual tickets from the booth. Definitely something good to know in advance before you're standing in line to board the boat. Overall, the Batobus was a great experience for what we wanted, which was simple, "no frills" transportation between attraction sites. You can get on and off as often as you like. It stops at 9 different locations including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and the Louvre. We were in Paris during the off season, and it was cold and rainy. There were no lines waiting to get on the boats and no crowds. No issues whatsoever!! Would use this service again. read more

We booked two day pass on batobus for Friday and Saturday. Bus was great on Friday morn and early afternoon. We did not try to ride on Friday evening. Saturday we tried to catch bus at 6pm at Louvre stop to get closer to our hotel. We waited in line for over an hour before we were able to find space on a bus. 3 boats came with 30 people getting off and only 20 people on. What a total waste of time and a rip off. It would have taken us less time to walk compared s to waiting for bus. When we finally did get on a bus, we had to stand since no seats available for our 4 person family. I cannot recommend batobus if traveling on weekend, probably ok during week. Disappointed ex-customer! read more

The cool breezes of the river, the beautiful lyrical bridges that carry you back in time, the students sitting on the river bank in little claques, drinking wine with their friends before the end of the term, all are offered you by using the Batobus as your means of transportation up and down the Seine. We blundered into a stop near Concorde on our first walk in Paris, and read the sign carefully. Thankfully we understood that the more days you paid for, the less it cost. We opted for the two day for 18 Euros pass, and then got on the boat. Friendly staff and an international crowd of tourists made each trip an adventure, and we found ourselves planning trips around the routes. We took hundreds of photos from the boats, and learned what was close to each station. For a modest fee, It was sight seeing on steroids!! We later learned that you can combine the Batobus with the Hop-on-Hop-off bus, and would definately use this next time! read more

Was in Paris for a few days and wanted to do something different! Decided to go on a river cruise! It was great and attendants were very nice. You get to see a different view of Paris. The reason I gave 4 stars is though was that it's a hop on hop off river cruise and they stopped at 9 stops and sat their for 15min each time. If you want to get off and explore the area than it's perfect but if you just wanna a nice cruise without the stopping maybe look elsewhere for that kind of experience! The Metro seems to be the most convenient form of transportation around Paris. If you need to get somewhere far along the Seine, however, I would highly recommend taking the Batobus. There's nothing like taking a scenic ride down one of the most famous rivers in the world. For just 14 euro (9 for students, whoo!), you have the whole day to go wherever you want along the river. The employees are all really friendly and used to dealing with tourists. One complaint I would have is that it takes quite a while compared to a ride on the metro. Boatobus is cheap, I guess, at about 17 euros per person, if you are in Paris during the off season it may be worth it, but if you are here during the busy season definatley not worth it, in fact it sucks! They over sell the tickets and you'll spend more time waiting in line than you do on the boat! They sell it as a hop on hop off deal, which sounds great, but when people get on they don't get off, so you spend hours waiting in line hoping you can get on th boat. We actually never got on the boat. We saw the boats come and go, but they have a limit on how many people can get on. After 2 hours of waiting I went and asked for my money back and they refused. If your vacation time is important to you don't do Boatobus, your better off walking or using the Metro! read more

Bato bus is a cheap way to travel from one part of paris via seine. Hay what can you ask for 17 euros. If you like traveling in the hot hot sun for one hr, this includes stops at various locations (louvre, champs, Eiffel tower ) then this is the way to go. Bato bus need to invest on fans. It seems a bit selfish for employees to have a fan and paying customers must travel in the sweltering heat. Definitely would not do it again. read more

I'll admit, when it was first suggested to me that we do this, I turned my nose up and scoffed. A boat tour of Paris? But then I found out it's not really a tour, it's a way to see the city from a different perspective and get from place to place for one flat rate. Yup -- you buy one ticket and its good for the entire day, so you can hop on and hop off as many times as you like to get to wherever you want via the Siene. Fabulous! You purchase your tickets from one of the kiosks that are placed at each one the six stops. The Batobus will take you to the Eiffel Tower, Musee d'Orsay, The Louvre, etc. via the river all day long -- last ride is at 7pm. I loved sliding along the river, breeze in my hair and sun on my face, peering up at the gorgeous bridges and buildings that took on a whole other form. I couldn't help but feel like I was experiencing the Paris of long, long ago -- a city built on the banks of a small island that expanded along this beautiful river. You can see so many cool things and get around rather quickly -- each stop is about 10 - 15 minutes apart. There is a guide but he was really only sharing information about the bus route and stop times -- this is in no way a guided tour of Paris. It's a super fun way to get around central Paris, and something I initially snubbed ended up being one the most enjoyable parts of my trip! read more

The coolest way to get around Paris! Not only does it drop you off and pick you up at the top Paris tourist spots but it's also such a beautiful way to travel around the best city in the world. It is 16 euros to use the Batobus as much as you want for the day. It goes past and to a lot of major locations you need to see in Paris. Slow rides but right down the river with not too many stops, and sometimes the guy will give some information. It's fun to float along the Seine and take in the scenery, day or night. The staff are professional and cheerful, and the water taxi idea is just genius. The stops are at major tourist attractions: Louvre, Champs, Eiffel Tower, St. Germaine, Notre Dame, Jardin des Plantes, and Hotel de Ville. Im giving this operation a 2- however, the concept is fabulous! Who doesn't love a water taxi in the Seine with hop on/ off access? The low score is for the design flaw on these boats. They are basically floating greenhouses- there is no out door seating, and under the glass on a warm day you bake. On a hot day: heat stroke. Miserably hot with no breeze, and slow- this commute is not fun! Seating is terrible- pack in 500 people onto a tiny boat- there is no legroom, no isles for safe walking, baby strollers filling the isles. Basically a floating safety hazard. Love the concept, boat needs a redesign, and ridiculously expensive- 18 euro for one day. Sad! read more

Our host recommended this as a way to get around town. We bought two day tickets and on the first day did the entire loop. It is slow. I think it took around 2 and half hours to do the entire loop. I love the concept. I wish they would have boats that go in both directions vs. just one. I also hope for more boats. I know we were in Paris in the winter so maybe in the summer there are more boats. They are slightly heated which was nice. All the staff was friendly. This was a neat way of getting around the city to a majority of the famous tourist spots while enjoying a breeze and the sights along the Seine. I didn't pay attention to how often the buses arrived, but I never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a bus whenever I was ready to hop on again. We knew the bus guides would not actually provide a commentary on each stop, but they did announce in French, Spanish and English all the stops and brief instructions. I loved batobus. I purchased the all day pass and got to ride it along the Seine river. So relaxing. I seriously could just do that all day long. I think I paid 14 euro for my day pass. True it is more expensive than taking the Metro, but you get to be in the water and relax and look up at some building tops. You can't do that on the Metro. Plus hey I am a tourist, we are allowed to splurge a little bit. But the locals don't take this form of transit. My friend's family had never heard of this boat, because they always take the Metro. It's hard to give this amazing water tour of Paris fewer than five stars, but I must. We wanted to get the two day hop-on,hop-off pass, which was a great value. But, instead they gave us a one-day pass. I explained that I would like the two day instead and the woman said that the one-day were already charged and they couldn't be changed. This inflexibility was extremely disconcerting, but we forged ahead and had an amazing day of true enjoyment. I suggest getting the two-day pass if you plan to explore Paris, as the boat is a preferred option compared to the underground metro and complicated public buses. The hop-on, hop-off bus is another option and I believe that you may be able to buy packages of the batobus and hop-on-hop-off bus together. read more

We used the Batobus from the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre. The journey has 8 stops and our journey took just over an hour. As it was mid August we did have to wait for about 20 mins but it was worth the wait, for a relaxing journey around some great sites in Paris. It was beautiful going past the Notre Dame. The open top bus was another option for us but we wanted a more relaxing trip and only wanted to go to the Louvre after the Eiffel Tower, for those wanting a more full on sight seeing tour of Paris the batobus probably isn't for you. It cost 36 euros for a day pass for 2 adults and 2 children. read more

I purchased two adult tickets for the tour. After taking 2 stops of it , they said it's closed because due to the high water levels and the Batobus service was suspended. This is unfair because my friend and I just ended up walking to all the attractions ourselves. I recommend everyone just to go themself. read more

We took the batobus from the eiffel tower to Notre Dame and then from Notre Dame to the Louvre. It was a lovely journey although very busy and nothing can beat seeing Notre Dame from the water below. The driver was a bit mad and managed to bosh the sides a few times but no one seemed to mind. The ticket we got cos 22 Euro for and adult and about 20 Euro for a student. Was worth it although you could of course walk it if you had some time. One point they aren't very warm!!! although they are covered so it isn't like sitting on an open top bus! read more
