We had a rather unenjoyable experience with the Batobus. We bought the one day ticket and planned our day's itinerary around using the water taxi to go from site to site. In February the maximum length of the wait at any stop is supposed to be 25 mins. We took 3 trips. We waited 20 mins for the first boat, 40 mins for the second, and nearly 1 hour for the last. It was a freezing and rather miserable day. When we requested a refund or partial refund for the disrupted service we received multiple excuses why it could not be done. We will complain via the website, but expect no results. read more

A very good way to see Paris and enjoy the Seine. Batobus takes you to the sights you want to see along the Seine. And you can conveniently hop on and off to explore the area. The reason why they didn't get 5 stars: on the day I arrived at the Hotel de Ville location we waited and waited for the boat to arrive. After an hour of waiting the sales lady informed us that the boat doesn't frequent this location at this day because of high water levels. In fact, half of the route was closed down. She asked if we had tickets. I said yes. She asked us to walk to another location, which we did. No refund or even an apology for the reduced services was given. read more

Cool deal for a good price. Got an all day pass to do some touring and see some pretty historic monuments and places. Takes just about two hours of you stay on the boat but getting off and on take some time. Hard to take pics from inside with all of the signs on the boat but you still get a panoramic view of everything...worth the value and time if you're in Paris. read more

Basically, it's a shuttle on the river that take you to 8-9 tourist attractions along the river. There's no commentator and it's like sitting in a floating greenhouse. It come to each station about every 20 minutes, the workers are polite, and you can get a student discount (€10 tickets even with US student ID!). It's a great bargain, and a good change from walking all over the city. My knee was dying from walking through different parts of the city before I finally decided to take this. DO NOT USE THIS TOUR BOAT SERVICE! There are plenty of other options for boat tours and this one makes you buy the tickets online but then does not scan them at the entrance. Instead you must wait in line at the ticket counter to trade in online vouchers for tickets anyway. Defeats the whole purpose of buying online and we MISSED our boat due to waiting in ticket line even though we had previously purchased tickets online! VERY DUMB AND NOT USER FRIENDLY!!! If you don't want to do the pricier boat dinner cruises on the Seine this is it. Just buy a all day ticket and take the entire route. Awesome perspectives of the city and great photo ops. You can also hop on and off along the route if you choose. Highly recommended for first timers. read more

This is a convenient way to get around the city, see sights, and use the Seine as a cab way. A word of caution is that it takes a while to get from place to place and the stops, while they contain points of interest, don't always have every convenience nearby. For example, the Champs Elysees stop is a ways from the actual street. read more

I wish we had discovered this transportation on the first day of our trip. There is so much to see and experience in Paris and we only had 1.5 days to do so. We planned on a river tour and subway trips to each site, and this kills two birds with one stone. It takes you very close to all sites (except perhaps the Arc De Triomphe, which is still quite a distance, walking). It was neat seeing Paris from a different perspective and then once we got to the sites, we could listen to and experience whatever kind of tour we wanted. They even came back for us as we ran to the dock at one of the stops(so nice!), as it often takes 30-40 minutes for another boat to loop back to each destination. If your feet are sore from exploration or you have a physical disability, please note that there will be stairs to climb at each stop, cobblestone streets to walk on and walking to some sites once the boat docks. Great deal and allows you to cover far more ground in a short amount of time. We would recommend this to anyone seeing Paris for the first time! read more

Terrible, terrible experience. I bought 2 adult, 2 day passes online. However, unlike most other businesses these days, Batobus doesn't accept e-tickets. Instead, you have to go to a ticket office. I waited over 75 minutes in line at the Notre Dame stop for a paper ticket before I was issued a manual ticket. As it turns out, Batobus says this manual ticket is not a ticket at all and will only let me ride one stop. Then I have to go to that ticket window and wait in line all over again for the privilege of riding their boat the rest of the way. I am laid back, I am not a complainer, but this company really frustrated me and put a huge damper on the entire day. Save yourself frustration, swim the Seine before you book with these unorganized misfits. read more

Miserable, cattle car. There is virtually no information given about the sights you are passing. The boat is very uncomfortable, there is no air flow because of the roof and it is miserably hot. There is virtually no shade. There is no beverage for sale on board. The information says the boat comes every 20 Minutes, but it is really 30. Overall, a miserable experience. read more

This boat trip is more of a scenic bus ride than a guided tour. There is a guide who points out the most important landmarks just off the Seine, but it's up to you to figure out any fun facts about the places if you choose to stop there. Getting your ticket early in the day allows you to get on and off at any or all of the stops to explore the surrounding areas. Overall it takes 2 hours to make a full loop because of how calm the trip is. The slowness and calmness of the river means nobody's getting seasick though! Overall a decent alternative to public transportation for a day if you want to kickback, relax, and take some pictures from the water. read more

The Batobus experience was our surprise star of the trip! We purchased tickets at the stop next to the Eiffel Tower after a trip to the Tower's Summit and a picnic in the grass below. We unexpectedly got the student discount after showing them our American Student ID (my husband and I are both grad students in our 30's.) We hopped on the boat- which came right on time- and were pleasantly surprised by the view, the speed, and the leisurely atmosphere. We hopped off right in front of the Musee D'Orsay (faster than the metro). The real win was in the evening. After a very satisfying dinner in St Germain de Pres (see my review of Relais de l'Entrecote), we were unsure if we would be able to make it back to the Eiffel tour on the Batobus- our stated goal for the day. We went down to the Notre Dame stop, and got on just after 9pm. They weren't clear about how far the boat would take us, but the sun was setting, the weather was perfect, and we didn't really care! The advertised "end of service" says that the LAST boat LEAVES the Eiffel Tower at 930. What they don't tell you is that boats will continue to run and drop you off at the Eiffel Tower PAST 930. We stayed on the leisurely boat for about an hour down the Seine. As we approached the Eiffel Tour stop, it had just been lit up for the evening. At the top of the hour (around 10 pm at this point), the Eiffel Tower started its hourly "Sparkling"- when the lights on the entire tower flicker. It was perfect timing, and we were perfectly positioned on the boat to see it and snap some amazing pictures. We were absolutely thrilled that the trip worked out perfectly. Since this was the last stop, we got off and hopped on the metro (RER line C) back to our apartment in St Michel. It was so worth the $10 for the day, and the last 1 hour was priceless!!! This is a must-do for a beautiful evening in Paris! (Side note: We also snuck on a bottle of wine and two glasses for our romantic 1+ hour boat ride!) read more

A 1-hr no-frills experience to see some Paris landmarks. Great because it's not overly crowded during peak seasons like some of the more popular tour boats and you're not cramped in with hundreds of other tourists. Only about 10 other people in total on our ride and you were able to get off at any of the major attractions. My husband and I bought a bottle of wine from a local cafe and enjoyed it peacefully on our sunset ride from the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower. P.S. sunset in July is around 9pm! read more

I did not like Batobus at all. In fact, I hate Batobus. Overcrowded buses, unclearly marked stops. Water taxi ok. Take the Metro. Getting a bus/boat pass like we did is just not worth it. read more

Poor service !!! Very expensive and very poor service and very hot inside under glass. I would not recommend.

We were tired and needed a break from walking and museums so decided that this would be the perfect time to take the Batobus. We got on as took the complete circuit in one sitting and by the time that we returned to our starting point we were completely refreshed. The "bus" stops and very briefly at the stops so that is not any inconvenience. While you do not have a tour guide pointing the various buildings out to you, most of the buildings are recognizable and you shouldn't have any trouble. I highly recommend this option versus the traditional boat tours. read more
