I got charged an extra 40 bucks because the driver didn't read the pick up right. Then the support line isn't very helpful when we have sent screenshots of the actual delivery destinations and process. Overall uber is a shitty thing to rely on if you are out of a car. You'd be better walking or hitching a ride with someone else. read more

Uber - Uber is an overall shitty ass thing to use for a ride. They'll miss the actual instructions. - Taxis Near Me

This ride share in KC is worthless. From the Casino to Shawnee $75 bucks. A guest at a major sports complex told me this.. The driver wanted cash he said I dont have that on me. He said I'll take you to an ATM he got out yet he got charged. Its all OK as he did get a refund from the company. But still how many drivers in KC do this. I asked around and the hotels I know they said its all the time. UBER needs to fix this. read more

If you ever request a ride with Uber, make sure you put in the correct address! Or else! If you put in the incorrect address you cannot change that address unless you cancel the request. Although the app does have an option to change your pickup address, but it does not work. After you cancel your trip in order to update the new address, Uber charges you a cancellation fee. And the original purchase for the trip, Uber puts a hold on those funds for up to 10 business days. They say it's for the protection of the customer, but it's actually to fatten their pockets. They take our money away from us, in say, 3 seconds, but it takes them up to 10 business days to return it to us. What a bunch of crap!!!! Worse service ever!! If the trip is already cancelled, I expect my money back immediately. How many of you agree with me? read more

I'll say first that my driver was excellent. The Uber customer support is abysmal, the worst I have experienced in all the time since businesses quit making human beings available to sort out the various issues their customers have. I couldn't explain my problem and the overcharge I got from them because they don't have a customer service phone number and their "interactive customer service site " is designed to send the customer down round abouts and dead end alleys. I have always had good drivers and never had a satisfying transaction with Uber. I will not do business with them again read more

I booked a ride in NYC. I was in front of the Nasdaq Building. They gave me a pick up location over a block away. After getting directions from a police officer I walked to that location which was not a specific address but something like 47th and 7th. There were literally several hundred people and scores of cars. When I got a message the Uber was there, I called him so we could try and find each other. The driver had a thick accent and there was a lot of noise. I couldn't understand what he was saying. I kept asking where are you, what building are you in front of? I couldn't understand his answer. We got disconnected. I called back twice. Same problem. Finally, I understood the driver to say "cancel?". I felt it was hopeless and said "yes". I went back to the Nasdaq building and called Uber again. The exact scenario repeated itself. I canceled again and walked the 16 blocks to my hotel. Later when I looked at my credit card I found I was charged a cancellation fee both times. One charge also included a wait time fee. I did not know if you cancelled a ride, even if it's because your driver can't find you when you're where you were told to be and are waiting, you will be charged! read more

Uber is a multi-billion dollar company, and yet it cannot figure out ways to pay the driving force that makes these billions of dollars for them, Enough money to survive. Their app navigation is sub par to say the best. Endless miles for small fees. The largest rideshare company in the world, and it cannot figure out how the map system works. Nor how to pay the driver, a minimum of one dollar per mile, for every mile, driven whether on a rode or headed to pick up a rider. read more

Uber overcharged me on a ride I did on 05/21/24. The statement on Uber app/site shows the charge of $20.24 including tip. They additionally charged $23.92 and I don't know why. It's not included anywhere in the app. Was unable to get a hold of anyone. Phone #'s unavailable. They only have help by frequently asked question. Will not be using them again. I'd rather take a taxi from now on. PS: They also have done the same thing on my previous trip of 10/02/2022 in Chicago. Driver was very nice. Just warning: be aware. Zelia L. read more

I used Uber yesterday, my doctors office called them because the office uses them for rides for patients. I left my phone in the car, with in 5 minutes the Drs office called the drive he did not answer they left a message, Then the Drs office called Uber and explained to them what had happened and that I would be waiting at the office where I was dropped off for him to return my phone 4 hrs went by no call or contact from the drive or Uber. I called my sister to let her know that I left my phone in the Uber car she called my phone he answered and gave here a line of bs. Neither he or Uber have reached out to us or the Drs. office. This is to let them know we are not going away. He has my phone and we know it, read more

Service and drivers are always great. But, UBER, please stop allowing Tesla's model 3's as an acceptable Uber vehicle! The ride is harsh and horrible, difficult to get in and out of and seating is uncomfortable. It should be categorized as a micro compact, not luxury. read more

And the surge pricing drama continues! I scheduled a ride at $22-27 at 5:45 am (Florida) (my phone readjusted to central when I got home) my driver accepted and was on the way. I was IN the VEHICLE! And received a text saying "Fares are higher due to increased demand. You can cancel in the next 5 minutes without a fee. Please be ready when your scheduled ride arrives." I was already in the CAR! I got to my destination and was charged $41, I contacted customer service about the problem and explained I was in the car and never accepted the surge charge! I have attached conversation- they WONT adjust the fare the only offered $10 a credit for my next trip, I don't want a credit, this really is the final straw with this service. I don't want to find myself in this situation again, what if the surge had been $100 and I was already in the car! You can't get a live person on the phone, I've gotten a scripted response from three people and I've attached the screen shots showing the fare was already agreed as in place at the lower rate and the surge notification happened after I was picked up. But they won't acknowledge it or make the proper adjustments. So frustrating! read more

I don't understand some of the negative reviews on here, guess I just got lucky. I find Uber very helpful to me, especially since I don't drive myself. They never seem to be very far away when I reserve a ride. Very reliable service. read more

.I have been a fan of Uber since first using the service in Chicago, and I immediately knew that I would be using Uber on my most recent trip to Kansas City, especially considering their lack of transit. I really only used UberX three times while in town, however each time it was a great experience. Prices were fair, during my time using UberX the base fare was $1.50 + $0.18/minute + $1 Mile. Still cheaper than a taxi, and that price covers up to 4 riders. One thing that does bother me is Surge pricing, this happens during peak hours when riders outnumber drivers. It serves as in incentive to get more drives on the road, however it comes at the expense of the customer. Luckily I never had to deal with Surge Pricing, as there were more than enough drivers. All of the cars that picked me up were clean, and all the drivers were friendly. Overall UberX provides low cost transportation via their app along with a fare estimate. I will say that the fare can slightly vary due to path taken and time in traffic, however my experience was that the estimate provided by Uber was pretty much spot on. read more

Uber - Fast Pickup! - Taxis Near Me

I threw a large housewarming party yesterday and contacted KC shelter to donate all the unopened leftovers totally six or $7000. I called Uber ordered an SUV. Which took 25 minutes. Then they sent a compact. I called Uber corporate where they wasted 45 minutes of my time. in fact, I had a call back three times because they kept directing me to some service where I had a poll just solved their problem, I called Corporate. I got nowhere. I have been a loyal fan of her five years. My corporate account is in the tens of thousands. And no one could just send an SUV to pick up $7000 worth of unopened food to a homeless shelter desperately in need at 15th and Cherry about 25 minutes from my home. Normally, at this point, I would've given up and driven it myself, however, I broke my leg and I'm unable to drive. Hence why I've been using Uber for so long. I finally gave up with Uber and now a courier service, once I explain the situation is rushing a truck here at no charge to take food and drink to the men's homeless shelter. I find this unconscionable on Uber behalf. I repeatedly asked to speak to a supervisor a manager a Director was told "no ". Ubers gotten too big for itself. Over the weekend we got to celebrate my mans 30th birthday! Friday We went out and enjoyed our friends company! After a long night we always trusted Uber to get us home safely. Saturday morning I noticed my cellphone wasn't in my purse anymore. Turns out I left my phone in the Uber . My fault I know! However when we tried to get my phone back our Uber driver Ergin refused to give the phone back unless we paid him. His exact words " you know I'm asking for money right?" We asked him what do you mean? This is our phone and our property you can't keep it and we will not be paying you! We can get the cops involved IF we have to..Ergin then responded with "you do that" and then hung up on us! We contacted the police and filed this THEFT. We contacted Uber explaining what we just went through and the illegal actions THEIR employee was making. Uber's only response was that they'd look into it. Sunday afternoon gets here and we get an email from our Uber, they DONT apologize for their employees actions instead they say we have got in contact with your Uber and you can pick your phone up in 48 hours downtown Kansas City in a location I've never been!? They COMPLETELY ignore us when we ask what is going to happen to this Uber driver. We ask them to meet us at Overland Park police department that way we can be SAFE. Again no response . Now I have to go get my phone 40 minutes from where I live 5 days after being told I can not have my phone back unless I pay this guy. I will NEVER recommend Uber to any of my friends or loved ones. UBER doesn't care about their customers or the law clearly( we even gave them the file number of the police report we filed) . We asked Uber 3 times what will be done and if this employee will continue to work for them and they just STOPPED responding to our emails and concerns post getting ahold of the driver. If this is the behavior they stand behind and clearly support then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be careful when using this company. read more

UBER FRAUD ALERT!!! UBER STEALS MONEY FROM THEIR CUSTOMER'S BANK ACCOUNTS. IF YOU HAVE UBER, CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS. They started charging me monthly for some "Pass" I had never heard of, got within a million miles of signing up for, or used (I used Uber about twice a year) and when I noticed it, after four months of $24.99 charges, they would only refund me for one of the months. It's in their records that they stole $25 a month from me for four months, and they did not deny that they had done it, they just chose to steal $75. And a Google search reveals that they do this a lot. AVOID UBER. THEY STEAL FROM THEIR CUSTOMER'S BANK ACCOUNTS. And again, if you have Uber, check your statements. read more

Holy heck! Why haven't I tried Uber before? This is a great service with fantastic prices that everyone should try! They were offering a free ride promo so I decided to use it for a trip to Starlight. My wait was 5 minutes. Much less than previous experiences with taxis. The driver was super friendly. We had a nice discussion on the way. The car was very nice and clean. I was delivered right to an entrance gate. No worries about parking or sitting in traffic on the way out. The trip from my home to Starlight costs less than it does to park there. Round trip with tips would be about double the parking price, but none of the headache. Checking rates for other parts of town, Uber is very economical. This is a great service. Especially if you want to enjoy an evening of cocktails. Glad the city saw the value in Uber and they are here to stay! read more

It's really a shame when we as Uber drivers try to make things convenient for our passengers like charging cords for their cell phones and they steal them yes my cord was stolen from my rear charger in my car I find that sometimes passengers have way too many demands acting as if we owe them something instead of being grateful for the service that we provide they would not get all these extras in a cab read more

Uber - Use promo code prbm1 for a free ride or 20.00 off the trip download the Uber app to get started good for first time Uber customers only - Taxis Near Me

Used Uber for the first time in KC...loved it! This is way better than having to call a taxi. Taxis always take an hour or two to get to your location and on top of that, taxis are expensive!!! It's very simple- you get the app, request a pickup location, then in about 30 seconds, you'll get a notification of an Uber driver on their way to you. Beforehand, you can also see how many minutes it will take for someone to get to you. Depending on what city, that can be anywhere from 1-10 minutes. You can also live track them on the map and see which corner they're turning from too. It's genius!! When the driver is on their way to you, an icon will pop up on the app and you'll be able to see what kind of car the person drives and what they look like. At the end of your trip, there's no hassle of paying because Uber does it all for you. The driver ends his trip and your card gets charged the amount. It's so cheap that it's practically a $1-$1.50 per mile after I calculated all the fees. At the end, you get to rate your driver too. If you need a free $20 voucher on Uber, use the code dt6x0 Now, I can't say this for all people, but my driver was very friendly and was a great host. I'm definitely using Uber again when I get the chance. It's user friendly, cheap, and fast! read more

Uber Kansas City was pretty wonderful. We used it quite a bit so we didn't have to walk back to the hotel from the bars late at night. Most of our trips were right around $5 and we never had any surge pricing. I had to go to get my makeup done for a party and the estimate online was $10-12 Uber fare, but it ended up only being $7 each way. Woohoo! Ever since discovering Uber, I never travel any other way, but a few non-Uber friends took a cab home from the same party we did and were charged almost $20 for a ride that cost us $5 with Uber. All of the drivers were great too. read more

I have used uber several times and have had great service and experience with every driver until the last time I used uber. The last time was on a Saturday night and it was a ride home, the driver was kind of odd with a mildly abrasive attitude. My wife and I were able to make small talk just to keep the situation from being weird. After getting dropped off I realized I accidentally left my phone in the seat as he sped away. My wife tried calling my phone and after a few attempts the driver answered it. He gave her the runaround for a while but eventually he stated he didn't want to talk to her anymore because she was pissing him off so I spoke with him and he ended up dropping my phone off. I didn't like the experience obviously and I decided to delete the uber app as I don't think this is a situation I want to get into again. Now with a regular cab company you have the option of calling the drivers dispatch and getting the issue resolved but with uber the drivers aren't in direct contact with a dispatcher and as I found out the driver can be hard to deal with and or down right refuse to be helpful. read more

After trying to get a cab home Knuckleheads at 11pm on a week night to no avail for 90 minutes, I called a friend and promised myself never again. I can come from the northland and go to crossroads or midtown for $12 - $15. I can't imagine having a flexible social life without it.
