In a sec they told me how many cars in my area, the closest one, how many minutes away. Photo, Name, license plate, color & model of car! I used it three times. No money exchanged hands, everything is done with your account. As long as you have your phone your all set to go!!!! Uber drivers take you anywhere ( nothing is too far & return you later) including NJ, PA... No cab driver moaning about how many fares he'll lose. I am a New Yorker at heart. Heads up to anyone who uses Uber they will not give you your money back even if they have to by the terms in the cancelation fee spot. So In terms for cancelation it specifies that if u cancel after 5 mins you get charged a fee. I canceled in 1 minute. Now also if driver is not on route I also dont get charged. Now they charged me a fee even tho it says they wouldn't charge one. Im trying to fight them on it and they purposely closed my ticket and didnt give me the yes no option where u can try to get more help. I haven't used Uber in awhile. I made a reservation for an Uber driver to pick me up at my home yesterday. I made this reservation 3 days ago and it was confirmed. Well the driver showed up unexpectedly 30 minutes early. I wasn't ready and he IMd me he was here. I scrambled to reply as I was getting ready and asked him to wait 5 minutes- without hesitation he bolted and LEFT. I messaged him asking why he left - he said he was told by UBER to arrive early !! I never requested that. Then he charged me!! I lost my doctor appointment and was charged $150 for not showing up even though I called and explained that Uber never picked me up. Office policy if you don't cancel 24 hrs in advance you get charged. Never will use Uber again. I did get a refund but no apology from Uber. read more

Would give zero stars if possible. Flew into Bradley Airport and requested an Uber. This was the first time I'd booked one and the LAST time using this joke of a service. I landed late in the evening and requested a ride to my sister's house which is about 40 minutes away. Got a driver said 12 minutes away. All good until the ride disappears and the app is searching for a new one. Same thing happens again. I also had sent messages to both drivers telling them where to find me and neither of them responded. Driver #3 picks up the request. About 12 minutes away. Cool. Sent message and got a response. Great! Til he messages me that his GPS sent him to Enterprise Rent a Car 20 minutes away. Said he was coming back to get me and then POOF. Ride disappears and were searching for a 4th driver. Around midnight my sister just came and got me. What should have been a pretty easy process became a complete %#£€ show and my flight that landed at 10:30 pm ended up being 2 1/2 hours of sitting outside the airport and getting to my destination at 1:30 am, Absolutely ridiculous. Live in the US. I phoned for a ride, needed to update my credit card info, waited on hold for over 10 minutes, finally got to relay my new credit card number to a representative (from India), then was placed on hold for 3 minutes, then the representative came back on and asked for the expiry date. I needed a few seconds to walk back across the room to get that (and I said so), to which the representative started to say "Call back when you have that information". Before he finished speaking, I said the expiry date three times, but he hung up on me anyway. About an hour later, while trying to update my card info on the Uber app on my phone (which failed 3 times; despite having entered the info correctly), I got a fraud alert from my credit card company: There were three (3) unauthorized charge attempts on my credit card account, all within the past hour. This is VERY suspicious and more than coincidental. I now have to wait for a new credit card, and its number, which I use frequently, and update that number with all of my auto-pay accounts elsewhere. Apart from that inconvenience, I was not able to get a ride from Uber that day, which I really needed. ... I have afforded Uber chances to provide good service, and Uber has failed. Please do not ever accept a ride from a lady with the name XIOMARA in the area of New Haven connecticut. This lady was so rude to us the second that we got approached her car. She said we couldn't get into the front seat because she had her "personal belongings" which consisted of skinny pop. Be so for real. So obviously we are college students and we need to get back to sacred heart university which we put as the location, and we double checked that was the drop off location once we got out of the car, and instead she dropped us off at sacred heart academy. Yes, dropped us off, 6 teenage girls on the side of the road in an area we are uncomfortable with and don't know our way around. She was pressing us to get out of the car with dead phones and no way to order another Uber, we could have been kidnapped and left on that street to die. My driver was very helpful but problem is with Uber itself. My initial pickup and drop off point were accidentally entered wrong and were only feet apart. I was quoted 6.90 and the car arrived. I made a quick correction with the driver, gave him directions and off we went. Total distance, 0.5 miles no extra stops or side trips. When I discovered a second charge for the same trip, I contacted Uber which insisted that since the change was made after the initial request, the second charge would stand, bringing the final charge to nearly 36.00. This is an insane fee and the customer service of the company is sub par. I work in a customer service area and my boss would have my job if I did this. This is a customer service business and sometimes common sense needs to play a part. That is severely lacking. Maybe next time I'll use Lyft. read more

Contacted them to report the problem and get an automated response asking for info. Great service! My car recently broke down and would take several days to fix. I had to take UBER from Bridgeport to Stratford for three days! I met three if the nicest hardworking people. They were so friendly and made the ride easy. My car is actually now fixed and I think I am gonna miss my new UBER friends. It was actually a bit of a luxury having someone else do the driving! This was the first time and would use them and recommend them! I'm tired of a few drivers who complain about having to drive from Hartford or West Hartford to Avon when the ride is "so short". I live in a very nice community. On one occasion, the driver actually raised his voice. I gave a lower rating for three different drivers because of this. In addition, some drivers accept the ride, and then they cancel. 10 minutes before my scheduled pick up I got a message that driver would be 50 minutes late. I scheduled ride 1 hour before my train departure. Driver did not answer messages or phone calls. I called a cab. Driver finally returned and I told him not to bother. I refused to cancel. 2nd driver now gets involved who eventually cancelled ride. Allowing 15 minutes to get to station I would of missed my train. So they charged me a cancellation fee larger than my fare. No way to dispute it with Uber. Uber Left me Stranded to get the the Airport. I had a confirmed ride from Seaford NY to JFK, scheduled and confirmed the day before and morning of my ride. I saw the driver come onto the APP 20 minutes before my pickup. At exactly one minute before my ride was to arrive, I got a message they canceled my ride and saw my driver 30 minutes in the opposite direction. Every time I called the cell #, I got a Spanish recording with no way to reach the driver or the company. Was a customer of Uber for 1 day. Opened an account on Super Bowl Sunday so I could relax and enjoy the game without worrying about getting home. BIG mistake! It was a local trip, about a mile. The pickup at my house at 5:30pm went smoothly, everything was fine. I had scheduled the return trip for 11:30pm. Around the beginning of the 4th quarter, I received a message from Uber that my scheduled trip home was cancelled. No reason given. I tried numerous times to reschedule, no luck. After going back and forth numerous times I was informed that my account (which had been open for about 6 hours!), had been deactivated because I supposedly "violated their terms and conditions". I said how is that possible, I scheduled my 1st and 2nd trips that day. They said they were not allowed to give the details!! What a bunch of crap. You strand me at night and have the audacity to not tell me why? Unbelievable...I have never seen such lack of respect for a new customer. They have lost any business my family and friends could have given the company, because they are as unprofessional as anything I have ever seen.
