I have been traveling with the company for 3 years and had good experiences. For some reason lately they have been sending my ride to a similar address in a city 45 minutes away. I am trying to get to VS appointments and the ride is scheduled via the VA. For the last two weeks I have dealt with the wrong city issue. When I call they tell me that we have wrong address, how do you have the wrong address wen you have been coming to my house for 3 years. This is the absolute WORST taxi service! They are irresponsible, uncaring, and unforgiving. Like others who have had a horrible experience with M7, I too called a day before to arrange a ride in a wheelchair accessible taxi to a doctor's appointment. I gave myself an hour and a half, expecting that they would be late. They called at the time of pickup, saying that they were on their way, would be there in 30 minutes. Ok - I had left enough time. Until they called again saying that there were no taxis available. The WORST! Please do NOT use this service. read more

I called on 6/30/25 to arrange a ride to a doctors appointment less than 2 miles away from my home. As I use a wheelchair, I requested a taxi. I gave the dispatcher a pick up time an hour and a half before I actually needed to be at my appointment, just to be safe. On 7/2/25, I waited for the ride to pick me up at agreed-upon pick up time, which was 12:15 PM. I continue to wait until approximately 12:40 PM when I decided to call the Metro Taxi dispatcher to inquire what was happening. message indicated that my ride was confirmed however, they are still locating a driver for my area. Every few minutes I called back again to try to speak with a human. Finally, at around 1 PM, the dispatcher called me to let me know that I was first on their list, a priority to be picked up next. I asked what was the point of scheduling a pick up time if it was not going to be honored. I agreed to wait for another 10 minutes. The dispatcher called me back and told me they were still looking for a driver in my area, but that I was priority. I asked her. The closest driver was at this point because I know they monitor them by GPS. She shared that the driver was 56 miles away. At that point I told her there was no way a driver who is 56 miles away was going to be able to pick me up in time for me to get to a 1:30 PM appointment even if it was less than 2 miles away from my home. So I told her just to cancel the ride . she then asked if she return will call ride. I told her that if I'm not able to get to the appointment, why would I need a return ride? Not to mention the fact that I have absolutely no faith in the company. If I had gotten a ride to , how long would I have had to wait for a driver to be "in my area". This is the second time I have been left in my driveway, waiting for a ride from M7 that never showed up. In fact when I booked this appointment, I shared the issue that happened several years ago with the same company. I was assured that I would be picked up on time, that my appointment was confirmed. it's disappointing that several years after my first bad experience I have a second, similar experience. I don't understand how a company could say that they are available 24/7 with immediate transportation to medical appointments, etc. If the company could not get me by the time I requested they should have contacted me to let me know they were understaffed, overbooked, or whatever. it's inconsiderate, disrespectful and demonstrates very poor Customer service. TOTAL RIPOFF! We used this service to go from New Haven to Cheshire and the fare was $74.31, approximately DOUBLE what Uber charges. We only called them because the Uber app was not working. After waiting 6 minutes in the cold, the cab arrived, and only after we were in did we discover the fare. At that point, we did not want to wait in the cold for another service. The driver also took a very roundabout route which took much longer than the direct one. AVOID THIS SERVICE! read more

I reserved a taxi to HVN on their website and got a text that it was confirmed. I waited at the given time, but nobody showed up, and no text was sent regarding the taxi's status. About 10 minutes in, I downloaded the M7 app and learned that even though I had booked my ride in advance, no driver was assigned to me -- and they didn't even send a text saying so. It's totally unacceptable to operate this way, particularly when you are promoted by HVN as an option given their restriction on Uber. read more

Today, I had the greatest ride experience with the kindest, most hospitable cab driver ever! I didn't get his name but his cab number is 246. He was very prompt to my pick up location. He loaded my groceries in and out of the vehicle. He really has good energy. This kind of hospitality is rare in this day and time. We rely on these cans to be on time for our appointments and they think it's acceptable to be 1/2 or more late picking us up without tackling us they're running late so we can find a new ride so we don't miss out appointments. AVOID AT ALL COST!!! I made an appt to be picked up by a handicap van the day before for 12 noon the following day. The van never showed so I called at 12:15 to find out they couldn't find a driver and could not tell me when I'd be picked up. At 1pm they called back to say they still hadn't find a driver. My girlfriend had a very important appointment for physical therapy to try to to get her to walk again. The wheelchair van was supposed to have been here between 11:44AM - 12:15PM for the 1:00 PM appointment. We called Metro Taxi at 12:20PM, to find out where the taxi was and the operator didn't know, but the driver would be there shortly. At 12:50PM (10 minutes before the appointment which was 15 minutes away) we called the driver who said that he was still on a job, but was 4 miles away, and since he couldn't arrive on time, we cancelled. We then called Metro Taxi and the operator could not seem to understand why we cancelled or comprehend that the driver couldn't make it on time and that she had to cancel her appointment. Worst company ever....to work for and as a customer. To work there, you are micromanage by the queen herself the VP Isabelle. She also loves to bully you and loves drama. Let's not mention her sidekick Cassie. That child needs Jesus. As a customer the drivers are rude, some not all and always on the phone. Yale ordered a cab for my daughter and I and they were late and the driver ran 2 red lights. I told the driver to let me out because I felt unsafe and his driving was horrible. This driver said no and he had the child locks on. Long story short, I made a complaint with Yale because M7 will lie and say the cameras do not work or the driver is going to retraining class. Why don't they allow ZERO-star reviews? I don't believe this is actually a taxi service; I called from the New Haven airport and was told by the automated voice that my ride had been booked. I waited for forty minutes in the lobby of the tiny terminal building - I was the only one there - and finally a car, with this company's phone number painted on it, drove by - and that's all it did. I stood up with my bags as soon as I saw it pulling up, but... it just drove away. Why would an ACTUAL taxi slow down in front of the terminal where a man is visibly waiting, and just drive away???? All You Need is 7...and probably headache medicine and a back-up plan. If you call for a cab at say, 6 AM, you might do okay, but any time there are people wandering the streets? Metro Taxi drivers will pick up passengers en route to their designated destinations. I can't say quite how many trains I've missed when I've called after my pick-up time only to hear, "Oh, sorry, I thought we already picked you up! I can send another cab..." In desperation, I often end up awarding these pricks with an extra fare. I can't imagine that every replacement passenger they've gotten has been a female on her way to the train station, but I guess the drivers pretend I've turned into, say, a burly man going to Hartford between the call and the pick-up. Here's a hint - dial 203) 777-777X where X = anything but another fucking 7. Most of them are cab services, and most of them will act like cab services and not like take-all-comers transport whores. read more

Have taken Metro Taxi several times now. Drivers have always been fine. But I have two major complaints: 1. The credit card machine is frequently broken - saying card was declined (it wasn't). They will call in your card number after several failed attempts, but are not quick to suggest it. 2. I booked a cab for 7:35 this morning. They called at 7:25 and I was in the shower. No second call, no way to return the phone call (got msg saying "mailbox is full.") After calling and REbooking a cab at 7:40 (complete with chastising dispatcher saying "next time, pick up your phone!"), I am currently waiting outside for my cab. It is 7:57, it is 33 degrees out, and I am not happy. When I started typing this review on my tiny phone keyboard, I gave Metro Taxi 2 stars. As my fingers go numb, that is being changed to 1 star. read more

Not impressed. Driver showed up at the hotel's side door (??). He drove speeding and unsafely through the AM city traffic where many pedestrians were crossing. I use Uber for almost all of my local business travel needs. However, this evening I decided to try calling Metro Taxi for a pickup on someone else's behalf. I called for the cab to arrive at 5:05pm, and I left the passenger outside on the curb at that time, assuring her that the cab would be there soon. When I called Metro Taxi at 5:15 to see if the passenger had been picked up, I was told twice that the passenger had "already been dropped off". So, I left my office thinking everything was fine. I received a call about 30 minutes later letting me know that the cab had, in fact, NEVER shown up, and my passenger was required to walk to her destination. Rest assured this will be the last time I call Metro Taxi for any local business transportation. read more

They kept telling me for an hour that the taxi was on its way, which was an utter lie because I asked the taxi driver once he arrived and he said he just got called to pick me up 10min prior. Another time they didn't even show up! I waited for an hour and was never able to get through to their customer service. That time they made me miss a train. They have earned my 1 star rating. I had called this service a few times without an issue, but my experience last night was enough to merit a one-star review. My friend and I got out of a movie at 12:30 and called a taxi for immediate pickup. A half hour went by and no one came. We called back, the dispatcher said she sent out a second taxi, and about twenty minutes later we got a call saying our taxi had arrived. The movie theatre had closed by this point, so we were outside (two young women, alone, in below freezing temperatures), and there wasn't a taxi in sight. I called back (each call went through the automated service, and I was on hold an average of ten minutes for each call), and the dispatcher said the taxi had reported that they'd picked us up and she didn't know why we were still there. When I asked for further explanation, or at the very least a status report on how long we'd have to wait, she told me she couldn't control whether the taxi drivers picked up the right person and we'd have to wait while she sent another one. While she was saying this, another EMPTY Metro Taxi pulled up to the stop light in front of us. We waved to him, signaling that we were on the phone with his company, and he refused to let us into the cab, saying that he had another assignment and couldn't let us in. At this point we had been waiting for 2 hours, outside, alone, in freezing temperatures, and we decided we had to just take our chances and walk 45 minutes home or we would freeze. I called the service back to cancel the cab, and when I finally got through after being on hold and said hello, the dispatcher hung up on me. Aside from horrid business practices, this company's negligence was putting our well-being in danger, and they did absolutely nothing to change that even after we explained what was happening. As long as I lived downtown, they were always prompt and courteous on my numerous trips to Union Station, Tweed Airport and the various tow truck lots in the greater New Haven area. Metro Taxi may be in on the whole ticket and tow (and taxi) racket, but at least they provided a useful service. However, as the years went by, questions, doubts, trouble arose. Do they take credit cards or not? I know they'd RATHER not take a card, but then, I'd rather not use cash. Deal. I have used Metro Taxi many times from New Haven to the suburbs to the shoreline. They have ferried me to and from work, the airport, the train station and even the hospital. They helped me after missed connections and got me home after I literally took a boat, a plane, a bus and a train. The drivers were always professional and courteous, if I was silent they left me be, if I wanted to talk they obliged me The one and only time I had a problem was when they didn't show because I was in the shower and missed the courtesy call, my fault for not paying attention. When my car was a no start they were here in minutes to get me to work and later tonight they will bring me home after I leave it for service. If not for them I'd be looking at a long, very cold walk. read more

If I could give negative stars!! They're miserable. The dispatchers are rude even among dispatchers, which is saying something. The cabs are late, and most are old and beaten up. The drivers are mixed, some good some bad but none can make up for the utter lack of courtesy or professionalism you get when you call. I've had a few exasperating rides with Metro Taxi, which include 15 min+ wait times from dispatch, but today's ride with cab 226 ends my business with this company. For the third consecutive time I have waited more than 20 min for my cab in the morning (8 AM) to get from East Rock to Union Station (for a commute to the city) and have missed my train! I've learned to graciously budget 30 min to do this with Metro Taxi but now... I know New Haven isn't a big city with cabs to hail, but having an order/wait/ride time of 40 minutes to make a train is RIDICULOUS! I might as well walk myself and save the $15! I felt like I should give this company a review (though it probably doesn't need it.) Metro Taxi is the largest taxi company in the area. Probably because of how many taxi rides it gives, there are a few that are bound to be unpleasant. However, I have had mostly good experiences with Metro Taxi. First, they take credit card. Most taxis do this anyways now, but if you hop into the wrong taxi at the airport or train station and don't have enough to cover the ride, they probably won't take credit cards unless they're a Metro Taxi cab. Second, I have never had a problem getting a taxi on time. The way to have the taxi show up on time is to know when you need the ride. I personally always schedule a taxi the day of (or perhaps a day or two beforehand), telling them the exact time and day I would like the taxi to pick me up. In that case, I don't have any problems with late taxis, in fact, they sometimes come a bit earlier than scheduled. If you call the instant you need the taxi, then of course it might take a while for them to come. Also, I've found most of the cab drivers to be very kind, honest people. There was once when I left my bag inside the taxi, and the driver dropped it off at their headquarters, where I managed to pick it up the next day-- so most of the drivers are fairly honest about this type of thing. I have also used the van taxis to move my boxes of stuff to summer storage. The four or so times that I've used the service, they driver has been nice enough to not only wait for me to load and unload my boxes, but also help me with the moving. The drivers really do try the best the can, there are times when I'm in a hurry-- I know I need to get to the train station in the next 10 minutes and I know that Elm Street is going to be very crowded. All I have to do is tell the taxi driver that I'm trying to catch the train in 10 minutes and he is usually very nice about trying to get me there as quickly as possible. Granted, sometimes the dispatchers are a bit brusque, but I attribute that to the fact they are working as a dispatcher at Metro Taxi for hours on end. NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION! Misquoted price, over charged credit card, terrible driving and atrocious customer service. I was quoted $55 from JFK to Amityville; charged $60. I told them when I booked over the phone I would pay cash tip; they charged my CC the tip (without me knowing; so when I tipped her in cash, I was not aware at the time that my CC was also charged the tip. They charged on my return trip, so by the time I logged into my CC account, it was too late. So yes, her terrible driving, was rewarded double). As stated in previous reviews (which I wish I read before booking), she was all over the road, hazardous on, swerving, windows open in the rain. Cars were honking at us and she was yelling at them for THEIR driving. It was the worst car experience I have ever had. I did not save any money, time with this company. I have gotten the runaround when I have tried to contact them. Bookkeeper seems never to be in. Finally, the driver, not the bookkeeper, said they would refund me the difference owed (two weeks ago) - I have yet to see it on my CC statement. I am reporting them to the BBB as well. I hope someone else uses these reviews to save themselves the aggravation. read more

I called the night before to schedule a 6am pick up. At 6:25 I called dispatch to ask where my cab was and they told me that there is no guaranteed window for pick up. I asked what the point of scheduling was if 30 minutes was an acceptable delay. He yelled at me that it could be even longer and hung up the phone. The cab arrived at 6:30. I have missed my train and will be an hour late to work. I guess uber really has out performed traditional cabs. Uber quoted this rude for $20.43. My ride was $36.60. read more
