This is a first-time user review of UBER in Columbus, Ohio. I hope to continue to update. My need was to get a ride after returning a rental car to a location in the Avery-Muirfield Road exit area of Dublin, Ohio. After drop-off I felt it was finally time to try UBER to get to my office. Anxiety at first but the tap-tap on the phone and confirmation went well. The pick-up time was 8 minutes and the ride/driver was there on time. Clean ride, Mazda sedan, and the GPS system worked flawlessly. The charge was only $6.87 door to door to my office in Dublin a short distance away. So for now.... this UBER trick is/was well worth the fix. I hope to use it again from Upper Arlington to the Short North and other places. Convenient and inexpensive (so far). read more

Your support numbers online don't connect you right away to someone who can help you. We will never be using Uber eats all due to the fact that the ppl you hire refuse to bring the correct meal after checking on the door with them if it is right. Which we shouldnt have to worry so much about but because it's happened 3 times in a row, it's kind of something you gotta do these days, I guess. Oh but it's okay to charge my debit card instantly and make it near impossible to call anyone to request a refund. That's awesome, that's probably my favorite part about it. Oh and when i call the restaurant they tell me to call you and they don't even know a contact number LOL hello?! Aren't we almost in the year 2020?! Get it together Uber or sell out and stop trying. You'll get swept away with the competition out there. Now I understand why ppl hate this company so much. I'm never going to use it again. read more

UberX is a bargain and a excellent option for a night out when drinking is involved or when traveling to an event where parking is an issue. And no, you don't tip! read more

Uber actually has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Each time I attempt to give it another chance it ends up disappointing me again. The navigation is COMPLETELY wrong, often with drivers showing up blocks away and asking you to walk to them. Also, poor customer support when you try to contact the company with problems. And finally, last minute driver cancellations so they can upgrade to "Surge" customers. i spent 20 minutes waiting for a ride, and when they were 2 minutes away they cancelled it at the last minute (with no warning) for this reason. I will NEVER order another Uber ride, and I suggest you do the same, read more

As a blind person I find uber great! They are much more reliable than our paratransit system or a cab. I've had good experiences so far. If I have a driver whose reached the destination but is having issues finding the exact location they have turned off charging, I'm not saying they will all do that but I've had regular cab drivers that will not do that and it ended up costing me more than the actual trip. It's also good for sper of the moment trips because if you are blind those are hard to get unless you pay a high priced cab fair. I would like however to see Uber offer more promotions to their existing riders. read more

So I've been trying to dispute a charge with uber and they will not refund me for the driver going to the wrong location. Secondly. If u ride with uber u can earn points, more points better The membership. I spend at least $150 a week with Uber so I get points pretty fast. As of today I'm at 1000 points .Every 500 points u earn $5 uber cash rewards. The rewards has its own balance section in the app. Today I earned another 508 points and my balance remains at $5. I have uber cash on my account which I purchased myself, Uber cash rewards do not roll over to your uber cash u purchase . (just to make that clear)so when I go to check my balance for my rewards i see it's still at five dollars I think either the company is ripping me off and not giving me what I deserve or constantly stealing money from me. at this time I am reporting them on every single social media platform I can. it's not right and they need to be exposed. Not the only that. They consistently raise prices. I'm so over this company. Once my Uber cash runs out I won't be riding uber again. read more

I am totally delighted and cannot sing UBER's praises enough. Not being a Smartphone user, it appeared that I was at a disadvantage. The first time, I contacted Support through Uber.com and, within minutes, Service responded via email, stating that they had set up my account in m.uber.com. I have requested rides and ridden with Uber 10 times and everytime has been superior. Uber drivers arrive within 2 to 8 minutes, as forecast. It is such a pleasure to be able to view the local map, to identify wait times for pick up and availability of drivers, so I know exactly how to time my request to arrive on-time. Thank you, Uber! The experiences have been GREAT! read more

I am a frequent uber user and previously have had great experiences. However, my friends phone fell out of his pocket this weekend and despite multiple emails to Uber (who won't give the cell number) and attempts to contact the driver, we've heard nothing. I could put his name, plates and car on this post but chose not to do so. You could AT LEAST return a call. read more

Uber charged me a surge rate of $166.11 for an 18 mile ride. This is completely insane! The fact that this business believes it's okay to charge anyone especially a long time customer that amount of money because they were in "high demand" is absurd! I feel like I was taken advantage of. When I contacted Uber (by email because they don't have an actual person to speak to who can assist over the phone) there was no sense of retention or empathy. Due to very little to no help, I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and I also plan to contact my Attorney General's office. I understand the surge charge process, however that amount is ridiculous for anyone. I will be taking advantage of the other transportation companies out there, hopefully they'll treat their customers with decency. read more

I have never been more outaged at a 2 mile cab ride for 55 dollars. The surcharges are robbery. This is absurd. Uber makes being safe a luxury when it should be a necessity. read more

Was good when it first started in Columbus, but has really gone downhill since. Is always "surge" prices when you need it and all the nice english speaking drivers in nice cars have been replaced with taxi drivers in cars that would barely get a few grand on a used car lot. My wife told me "never again!" The boss has spoken. read more

3 stars, and here is why. Picked us up quickly. No problem there. Helped with the bags. Cool. Clean car. Great. Main problem: my leg is broke, came from a trip with three suitcases and a big game tomorrow so we weren't sure if the hotel we last-minute decided to come too would have room. Long story...I know. Wife says she will run in real quick and make sure they have availability. No reason to get out, get luggage etc without checking first that they have a room for us. And we didn't call beforehand because we got to the hotel literally right as we pulled up. No big deal. The issue: the guy tells my wife as she's going out the door, albeit in a somewhat "polite" voice (if there is such a way to say such a phrase), "ok, but hurry up". For real!? I said excuse me? He asked what? I asked what he said. He repeated himself and said he meant no harm, just that he has another ride to get too. Now granted, he was foreign, and perhaps didn't realize how rude this was. Nonetheless. First experience not a good one. Wife used it in San Diego a lot before and loves it though, for whatever that is worth. read more

As both a driver and a rider, i cant believe the petty complaints I am seeing. These people get crap for driving to pick you up, wait for you to come to the car and take you where ever it is your going. Lets be honest here. If you think its fair for some one to drive 10 minutes to come get you, take you on a bare minimum trip and net a whopping 2.25 for that, your just not worth pickign up. Yes, you pay more than that but your driver see's about 70% or less of what you are charged. Keep that in mind. Out of that comes fuel and maintenance. Then at the end of the year, they will pay taxes on all the revenue made after expenses. yes, its a crap deal for drivers but you dont have to be a part of the problem. Be ready when you schedule the car, know where your going, and tip your driver the same as you would any other service related provider. If you tip when you get your haircut, why shouldnt you tip your driver when your dropped off? Do you tip your waitress? Why? All he she did was bring you drinks, your food and picked up after you. Because Uber says its not necessary? BS, these people cant afford to do this for very long. It eats them alive before they realize it. If you are picked up promptly and taken to where ever your going, offer a few bucks. It makes dealing with people so much easier when your appreciated for doing what you couldnt do. Heath D. If you set a destination in the app, the driver can receive additional calls close to that drop off point when they are close to it before they ever drop you off. Its very likely he had another call and had to get it or risk getting cancelled on. If you dont know how it works as a driver, you cant say they are being rude about what they are doing. There was a reason he said that to you. FWIW, drivers rate riders based on timely departures, your attitude and whether or not you tip them. That means you need to be ready when they get there, know where your going and tip them. Low rating on the riders side that tells other drivers you dont tip and the next driver might not accept you or cancel you. If your rude, you get rated low, if you take too long getting to the car, low rating. So on and so forth. Ratings work both way and we do pay attention to them. read more

I had an issue with a driver not showing up. We scheduled another Uber and canceled the first. I requested a refund of the cancellation fee and Uber confirmed they would refund the money. It has bee over a week and the fee has still not been deposited into my account. I have not way of communicating with customer support other than e-mail. I have been going back in forth with CS via email for several days now and all they can say to me is they "confirm" and "guarantee" that money has been refunded to my account. I sent them screen shots of my account to show them it has not been refunded and continually ask them to send me the documentation which "confirms and guarantees" that it has been refunded. CS continues to tell me say the same thing over and over. They can "confirm" or "guarantee" that I was refunded the money. And I need to take the issue up with my bank. I've explained my bank can't look into a deposit that isn't there unless there is some kind of documentation to prove the transaction has been made. Again, same response from Uber. Begging them for documentation and/or the proof they are seeing to confirm the refund to no avail. Just their word that they can "confirm". When asked to be put in touch with a supervisor, the CS agent assured me that he/she was the highest level of support. There is absolutely no way to reach them other than email. I will never use Uber again simply for the principal of it all. I will begin using Lyft thanks to the lack of customer support ! read more

To Heath D. You're an idiot. So because you can't plan ahead like a responsible adult this poor guy has to wait on you? You believe you deserve some kind of special treatment because your leg is "broke"(en)... Get a life pal. Reviews like yours are pointless and don't help anyone. Maybe we'll all get lucky next time and you'll break your hands so you can't post garbage like this. My guess is you have something against this fellow being a foreigner as you stated. Get a clue... America is made up of foreigners. This guy should have unloaded your crap and kicked your butt to the curb. read more

Uber has no ph no. that I can find to allow me to talk to a person. That scares me right there. Nobody can explain to me if I can use their service without a smart phone. I have a flip phone and a computer. read more
