I've used the service many times, particularly when I get free or discounted rides. The good...it's fast, reliable, and clean most of the time. And always available. The bad....twice I was overcharged. Out of 40 to 50 rides that's not bad. If you're overcharged, you'll have evidence. 1st time ever using Lyft. Saw an ad for 1st 2 rides free. When trying to book it, the promo code said 50% off. I only received $10 off not 50% off. The driver's vechicle smelled terrible, like he sprayed to much cologne yo cover up mairjuana. The car was also very small making it hard to get in and out off. There was a blue flashing light under the driver seat. He was driving recklessly as well slamming The breaks to not hit the veichle in front of us. The noise the car made was very loud. I was Nauseous with a migraine and my heart was pounding When we arrived back home I contacted a Lyft about this ride. Customer support told me I'd be 100% refunded since my safety was jeopardized. We have used Lyft about four times and we highly recommend them. We have never had a problem and the drivers have always been well mannered and professional. It's sad that some people have not had a good experience, but we have had a good experience. I think the price is reasonable, but I hope they don't raise them. We have never had a problem with someone not getting us there on time and somebody not showing up on time. The cars have always been nice and comfortable so they didn't make us go through an entire application process like Uber does. Today was my first time using Lyft and I am NOT impressed, first of all Caresource didn't tell their Xenia members that they were changing their source of transportation, it has always been Purple Cabs that would pick you up. My ride from Lyft came too damn early, at 9:55am and my appointment isn't until 10:40am, then when I finally walk out the door my ride has to move because a FedEx truck is behind it. I live on a one way street road, so you really can't maneuver around unless you go down the hill and turn into another homes parking spot to turn around, or go around the block to get back to my house., it's not that hard. So as I'm standing there waiting for the guy to turn back around I don't see him anywhere! I wait and wait and it's quarter after, I looked at my messages and tried using the contact number to get ahold of him and it's a stupid pre-recorded bot that answers, it tells me to use the phone I have on file to contact them and it wouldn't take my number! WHAT!?!?!? I put my number in 3x, that's the number I GAVE to the Caresource transportation representative, but for some friggin reason it wouldn't take it!! I literally had to call Caresource transportation and explain to them what happened, I told them I stepped out of my house at exactly 10:05am, that there was a FedEx truck behind my ride, that the contact number was botched, and that I was late to my own appointment. I'm not gonna get charged because some guy didn't bother to turn around and their contact system is shitty! Thankfully I was able to get ride and my doctor was still willing to see me, Caresource needs to go back to Purple Cabs, at least they'll wait for you to come out and don't come super early, doing all that was unnecessary, I would give Lyft no stars if I could. I will NOT be using Caresource transportation nor Lyft ever again!!!!!! Just got done with my appointment and I tried to get ahold of my Lyft ride and I am met with the same issues, I called the contact number and it went straight to voicemail, I did this several times. I love Lyft! I mean it appeals to my inner awkward side that hates to call places and make appointments. I can just download the app and check for a ride in my area. I try to get a ride before the primetime, the drivers can get busy. The prices are on par with the regular taxis. Except I would choose Lyft over a regular taxi any day. I had my credit card stolen and used over and over at Lyft, they don't care to help at all. You can not call them at all and I have followed their protocol and tried over and over to get help to find out where all of the pick ups and drops off have been, all they have done is sent a form email back to be over and over again saying basically they need my expiration date of my card, I have sent it over and over for days and they just respond with the same form letter. If I could rate zero stars I would. My wife and I used a Lyft to get us from Sheraton Suites Columbus (Worthington) to the Ohio State Campus on Saturday, 9/9 for the game. It was a game day so I knew we would pay more than usual (I calculated the route a few times before game day and it was anywhere from $16-22). On our way down to the game we paid $32 because of their wonderful 50% premium. Okay, fine, I can live with $32. Here's my beef and the reason I will never, ever, ever use Lyft again: the return trip after the game was utterly outrageous. Lyft had the nerve to quote $94-$132 FOR AN ELEVEN MILE TRIP. Are you serious, Lyft? $132?!?!? Get the f out of here. I understand their model and I understand the economics of supply and demand. But I felt like I was in the path of hurricane Irma where businesses were price gouging everyone. Mind you the game ended around 11 and we hung out until about 12:30am after all traffic had dispersed so please spare me the 'it was prime time' excuse. It was 12 freaking 30 in Columbus, Oh. So in lieu of using Lyft and feeling like I just got out of a prison shower with no Vaseline I did the unthinkable: I called Yellow Cab, waited maybe 5 minutes and took the 11 mile trip back to the hotel. Grand total: $23. All the while wondering how shitty, snake-oil salesman like Lyft and Uber think they've got everyone by the balls and can charge whatever they want. They should seriously be ashamed of their unethical practices and 'surge pricing' concept because it's nothing more than extortion. I had a fantastic experience with Lyft. My husband and I had to leave for California suddenly and needed to get to the airport. Bryant M. suggested that I take Lyft, which is basically a ride-sharing service--people who have cars and want to earn extra money sign up to be drivers, and have to be vetted through some kind of process. This is my understanding of how that works. There's more stuff but I don't know it all. On my end, this was the experience: -- downloaded the app and put in my information, including payment info. -- when you're ready for a ride, you call for a Lyft driver. There's no way to schedule this in advance, apparently. Sometimes drivers are busy so if you have a time you need to be somewhere, might want to leave early. -- once the driver was available, she got there really quickly. I could see on the app where she was. She also called me, and I got a text from Lyft confirming. The app had my driver's photo and a photo of her car, so I knew who to look for. -- The driver arrived, and she was very nice. She helped us load our bags into her car. She asked me the best way to get to the airport from where we live, which is nice--she definitely did not try to take us the long way around or anything like that. She also had candy and bottled water. -- The ride was less than $20 even with tip, which is kinda awesome. Cheaper than a taxi and more comfortable. No cash needed, it's all done with a card through the app. Update: I tried to get a Lyft *back* from the airport on a Saturday evening, around 11:30. It did not work out so well, and this is due to a couple of things, some of which I didn't know already: -- apparently, Lyft tells you if drivers are available based on your proximity to them? Or something like that. So if no drivers are near you, you don't see them?... idk, it seems like I wouldn't want to take Lyft out of the most major traffic areas (Short North/downtown/campus/Grandview) because who knows if you're getting a ride back? -- I would have been more than happy to wait for a Lyft *if* I knew there would be one available at some point, but the app only tells you that drivers are busy. It doesn't put you in a queue or tell you that drivers are, in fact, out driving at that time. Since Lyft drivers can set their own hours, I don't think it's guaranteed that you always have people out driving. I didn't wait for a Lyft because I didn't know if I would have to wait ten minutes or two hours, or if I'd ever get a ride. I would have been happy to wait a short while for the ride, as the Lyft to the airport was cheaper than the cab we took home, but not knowing if I would even get a ride was problematic. So I guess, moral of the story is always to have a back-up plan. read more

Lyft driver Amir in white Acura with plate number beginning with GLK(I think). One of the worst experience ever when it comes to ethics and professionalism. If I could give him negative 10 stars I would. He picked us up at the Varsity Club on Lane and drove us less than 2 miles to the Homewood Suites on Lane. When I got the bill he showed that te fare was for 17 miles and he picked us up at a location that does not exist and dropped us off by the Casino. Then he added 250% prime time cost based on fare mileage(16.7) for an $93.00 bill. DO NOT USE AMIR. I spoke to Lyft customer support and they said they will refund the false mileage he reported. I use both Lyft and Uber, it's really a toss up of which one I like better. I do like the fact that Lyft from time to time will offer promos to existing riders like the one I'm taking advantage of now 50 percent off rides until 6/19! I also like the in app tipping.
