So because I have had issues with uber eats in the past, they denied my refund for an order that took 2 hours to arrive and when it did, the boxes were melted together, the fried pickles were out od the box and at the bottom of the bag, the lids on some of the items were melted and leaked and poured out od the containers. The rep said that according to their policy they could not refund me due to numerous complaints. Well, if my food would arrive as it should there wouldn't be complaints. I told them to provide where the policy is located and the rep would not provide. She just kept sending me the same message over and over to every response I had. I asked to deal with a supervisor and they ended the conversation. I'm sure it was because it was an order over $120. They didn't want to lose that money. But as I mentioned it took 2 hours to get our food if not longer. I am so annoyed with uber eats and their drivers ruining my food and now they can't reimburse me. This leaves no resolve for issues that arise as a result of incompetence of some of their drivers. They could completely destroy my food now and I couldn't get refunded. That's unacceptable. Being in the burbs, I thought it would be difficult to get an Uber. I was wrong! I guess our little area OTP is coming up in the world! Every time I order an Uber I have no issues. Sometimes it may take up to 15 minutes or so, but that's no big deal as I make sure to manage my time. I have taken this service to Atlanta as well as other areas OTP and never have an issue! I do however have a hard time getting their competitor as they seem to not have any drivers here in Woodstock. It is a shame as they offer great incentives. If you're looking for a driver in the Woodstock area I would definitely recommend Uber. Also - looking to have a nice time in any of the downtown OTP areas? I have always taken ubers but this probably the last time I will consider taking an uber in Atlanta. I waited 45 minutes for an uber that never arrived! After 45 minutes of waiting in the freezing cold we decided to cancel our ride and get a Lyft instead. You know what? My Lyft arrived in less than a minute! So I contacted customer service for a refund. Most condescending ever! See the photos attached for the conversation! They actually told me I should have cancelled my ride within 5 minutes to avoid cancellation charges. Hey what?! Do they know what just happened! This is a good concept in general but it has BAD employees or contractors. I used UBER earlier tonight to get to a location the driver called & picked me up & dropped me at the location. ONce at the location the driver stated that tips are not included. After reviewing the websites info on UBER it states that tips are NOT needed. I also requested a ride back to my home on UBER and got a call from the driver I was waiting outside for 10 mites only to see the driver driving away with another customer. I called the driver and he states that he was wiring for me and never saw me, even though I was standing at the street and he HAD my contact number. THe driver was named ISHAM in Atlanta. Uber Eats is the new delivery food service that Uber offers. I believe they are trialing the idea in Atlanta so the service is only available between 11am and 2pm during the week. Additionally, it is only available in Midtown and Downtown right now. If you place an order before 9/18, they will waive the delivery fee and give you a free King of Pops. To place an order, you now select the plate/knife and fork icon at the top of the home page of the app (may vary depending on your phone). Swipe up from the bottom to see the menu items. Use the +/- signs to add meals to your order. Then choose "Proceed to Checkout" and once you "Request the Uber," everything else is just like the Uber rides portion of the app. Some things to note about Uber Eats. This is not your traditional delivery food service. Instead, there is a pre-designed menu with 2-3 "meal options" per day. All are sourced from restaurants in the area. Some places that have been featured are Gusto!, Yeah! Burger, MetroFresh, and Alon's Bakery. These rotate daily and allow no customization. Essentially, what you see is what you get. Since I am a bit on the picky side, it actually took me a couple of days before I found something where I liked everything that came with the meal. Today, I ordered the grilled chicken salad from MetroFresh. It had mixed greens, berries and a basil vinaigrette. From the time I ordered, the driver was downstairs in 5 minutes. This is a curbside service, meaning they don't deliver into your building. Instead, you meet them outside and pick up your meet. My total came to ~$10 which is pretty standard for MetroFresh. The delivery fee was waived so I don't know what it would have been. The car was clearly marked on the outside with an "Uber Eats" banner. The driver had the daily menu and a couple of warmers in his car. It looks like they pick up a bunch of meals at one time, which is how they were able to get the meal to me so quickly. I'm assuming this differs with restaurant, but my salad came in a recyclable paper box with silverware inside. I liked how neatly packed this was. Since I got a salad that was meant to be eaten cold, I am very curious as to how a hot meal would hold up -- especially with fries, or something fried and crunchy. Most of the things I've seen this week have been in the realm of cold sandwich or salad. The spring mix was still fresh and crunchy (not sad and wilted), and the dressing was put on the side. The portion was probably a little on the small side for $10 but hey, it's MetroFresh. You know you're getting something good. Things I would like to see improved -- 1. Customized meals. While this may decrease the delivery fine from Freaky Fast, to Relatively Reasonable, I would be able to eat more on the menu. Same as people with allergies. 2. Instead of set menu, maybe rotating restaurants per day. This still limits the scope of the driver, but instead you would be able to get anything from the restaurant. 3. If not the two above, more menu options. Honestly, to use Uber Eats right now, you'd really have to be unable to get out of your office for lunch and crave something incredibly specific on a menu between the hours of 11 and 2. I started off using Lyft however Uber has become my favorite as it is quicker and cheaper than Lyft. No matter where I am my wait time is less than 10 minutes. That's a winner for me. Nice cars. Nice people. Cheap and fast. Not to mention it has saved me from being stranded many a day. On the weekends I use the app to do my shopping, laundry etc. The drivers are always friendly. Both the times my drivers were great and I totally loved the service, it is much cheaper than the normal taxi rides which I had always kept the last option since it is always so expensive.. Uber has made my life much much easier now that I know I can take a uber to work which costs me just 24$ one way instead of a taxi which will cost me atleast 45$. I've used Uber in other cities. But I never used one in Atlanta. However, I did use Uber-eats in Atlanta metro area a few times (Mableton actually). So this review is going to be about Uber-eats mostly in the Mableton area. I've ordered from Uber-Eats a few times. Since I live in the middle of nowhere Mableton, I don't have much choices. But I do love the execution. I love the live map, and the ability to call your driver. There are a lot of negatives though. The Uber driver ate my food twice (two different drivers for 2 different places). I don't know what type of drivers they have in Mableton, but I can't believe 2 drivers took my food. When I call Uber's customer support. They weren't very supportive. It's because they farm their support team to India or Bangladesh. So their English skills aren't very good. They weren't able to help me very well. The worst part? They don't even give you a full refund when something like this happens. They only give 50% refund. It's to protect the restaurant so they give 50% back to the restaurant. I think that's BS. Uber should give 100% refund and give back 100% of the cost back to the restaurant. Short version: I've fired up the old Uber app a handful of times. Uber gets the thumbs up from me. Long version: I think Uber shines especially as a method for getting to/from the airport. You don't have to cross your fingers and hope that MARTA doesn't break down. You don't have to spend lots of money to park at or near the airport. You don't have to beg a friend to drive you to Hartsfield. No calling a cab company hours or days before. Nearly instant door-to-door service can't be beat. I get the cheapest option, UberX, and the wait was never more than 10 minutes. The drivers have been all very polite, some are chattier than others however. A couple are new to Atlanta and are not familiar with routes. Cars were tidy and non-smelly. There is also an option to carpool but it wasn't available when I've used Uber. Sounds like a great idea to shave off a few bucks though. Tips are supposedly not required but they haven't been turned down yet. Ugh, I hate tipping in general and fearing people hate my intestines if I don't tip. But I wish the app allowed you to add a tip. Once Uber had an Uber Kittens promo where drivers would bring kitties to your workplace. I opened the app during the feline window, and there were no cars with cats at all in Atlanta. Sadness. Even if you're on the fence about Uber, it's worth trying out at least once. There are tons of generous first ride coupons floating around; just ask a pal for a referral code. read more

I will never ride Uber again. My last two drivers were unbelievable. One of them literally preached a sermon to me the entire 45 minutes from the airport to my home. I appreciate her "care" and passion but omg.... She went on and on and on and eventually sang a songs too. She prayed for me and my family and my travels..... As insane as that was.... I'd take her over the next driver anyday..... During a trip to Connecticut, I wanted to get lunch but there only way to any food was to get into a car away from this airport hotel and ride across the highway. I was traveling alone and my driver seemed normal enough at first asking where I was headed. I said lunch across the highway. Then he proceeded to say he needed to stop for lunch too and declared that he was stopping. He said oh and I can bring you back. I immediately said that's okay. I'll use these app. As soon as we got to the restaurant he said I'll eat here too. Free country... A little weird but I moved on and went in line to order. He ordered after me and when I sat down in a booth, he sat across from me. He said do you mind if I join you? I'm starting to freak out a little but there were others in this restaurant and the employees were all still there so I srugged. Mistake#510. He sat down and I begin to eat as fast as I could to get out of there and he proceeded to tell me stories about this overseas girl friend and the stories got progressively awkward. As I'm woffing down my last bite and discretely turning on the Uber app to get another driver, he offered again to take me back to the airport hotel and I refused. He then suddenly rubbed his leg onto mine saying he just wants to be friends and that's when I jumped up and ran towards the door. I phone called the next driver who had already accepted the request and it happened to be a women. She answered and told me she was in a parking lot across from the restaurant and I told her to stay there so I could meet her there. After running to the new Uber driver and jumping into the car I told her what happened. She deeply apologized and advised that I report it to Uber immediately. Uber had an investigator call me to gather details and later told me they suspended whatever it is that allows him to drive with them. I had one hiccup once when a guy saw there were 4 of us & tried to act like he was not my driver. Being savvy with the phone, I pulled up the details & everything changed & we were granted our ride with luggage. Now, Uber Eats gets a 1-2 stars. They constantly messed up my orders. I have not ordered from Uber Eats in over a year after they refused to credit my account. Door Dash & GribHub are so awesome in comparison. Uber in Atlanta and surrounds allows drivers to commit fraud. A specific driver insisted that my ride be "off-the-books" since it had taken him a while to get to the pickup location. That way he could pocket the entire fare. After being paid cash, he then charged my credit card for the trip costing me twice the amount. I took an Uber ride for the first time and was charged a 2-minute wait fee when the driver arrived at my home he did not call me and furthermore I live in a gated community and had he followed the procedure of calling me from our system at the gate which would have alerted me that he was in the subdivision instead he must have followed one of the residents into the community. The second ride I was charged a $3.40 trip fee, which did not appear on their first communications regarding the charge. I found out once the ride had been completed. On my current trip I attempted to use Auvergne 2 times. First attempt pre scheduled at trip from home to LAX, got confirm with range of time ride would be there. NO ONE SHOWED UP. Second attempt was from Atlanta hotel near Sum Trust Park to ATL airport App only provided pool or UberX. Every time I attempted Pool it failed. When I tried UberX it never found a ride. The Uber drivers of the Atlanta area do not seem to know their way around. We stayed at the JW Marriott in Buckhead and took at least 2 Ubers daily. More than half could not find the entrance to the hotel. After a soccer game at the Mercedes Benz stadium it took 4 drivers to find the designated pick up area (the pickup area is designated by the stadium and has signage) and the 4th one was on the wrong side of the street and yelled at us when we got in the car (and I called her when we saw she was enroute to clarify where we were as the GPS in that area is a bit imprecise). I called an uber X car, which is the basic and lower priced, but a higher cost uber suv arrived, unknown to me as I requested a simple uber x and just needed a ride two miles from my location, I was charged $25 for those two miles. I had no idea nor did uber provide any info stating an uber suv was enroute regardless of my request for the basic UberX.
