I was very excited when I heard about this service. They said on their site, "Also available for out-patient medical and dental procedures." That was intriguing to me, because I live alone and have no one to pick me up after a medical procedure. But then I noticed that their hours only begin at 6:30 PM! No one has medical appointments at night! So what good is this service? Why would you announce that you even offer such a thing? read more

The drivers are professional and courteous, they deliver a smooth and comforting ride. Safe Ride for in Georgia Seniors is not safe or courteous they are milking Medicare Safe rides uses any Lyft drivers who are not trained in any way to deal with seniors. If you are lucky you may get a courteous driver. Many times the cars are filthy, smell of marijuana,they talk on their phones. My last incident was that my walker was left in the trunk the driver took off an never brought it back. I called Safe Ride Immediately .They told me they don't deal with lost items and would not contact the driver . They gave me his name and licence plate and some fake number and I was not able to reach him . I called Aetna my insurance company they had me on the line from 9:35 am until 1 pm trying to reach SAFE Ride. Their systems were down part of the time and the rest of the time being transferred between Aetna and Safe. Finally when Aetna were able to reach a ride scheduling agent the discourteous agent said the close the books on that driver and we're not able to reach him . Used this service instead of trying to use Uber or Lyft. Glad I did! A lot easier and quicker in terms of when they arrived. Safer too. The fact that they come to you, pick you up and DRIVE your car to your designation is clutch. No hassle of trying to get your car in the am and risking leaving it somewhere . You just wake up and it's in your driveway. Sometimes the night (or day) gets away from you....lol. I greatly appreciate Safe Ride being willing to help others by running errands during the COVID shelter in place. They picked up my very lengthy grocery list our of the mailbox, and delivered the groceries to our door without ever interacting with them in person. The gentlemen called us a few times to offer options based on what was available. He also used gloves to open our mailbox and do the grocery shopping. I've volunteered here several times, and I can speak to both the service, and the volunteer opportunity. As far as the volunteer opportunity, it is a fairly easy way to earn hours. You drive your car with a SafeRide driver with you, and they are then responsible for transporting the customer home, in the customers car. No one intoxicated or otherwise is ever in your car, and the SafeRide driver handles everything! On the service side, many people can benefit from it! Never have fear when you're out with your car, and may have had too much to drink. This service is a reasonably priced way to get you, AND your car home. They have a very speedy response time, and their dispatch team will have someone out to you in no time! Save their number for the future, just in case the unexpected happens! read more

Have you ever went out to go eat then end up drinking too much or spontaneously at the club or bar with your friends to now wonder how you're going to get home safely? Well that's when Safe Ride America comes and saves the day. A quick phone call and a driver will come to me and my car then drive me home in my car while another Safe Ride car follows us home to pick up the driver. The cost is priced right considering it's costed me equal or less than if I used Uber/Lyft roundtrip and I don't have to pick up my car the following day. The people that run this show are also great, dispatcher is always on top of it, and the drivers are friendly and really take care of driving my car. I can't value and appreciate what they do enough! I truly appreciate the service, but I felt nervous the entire ride. I have used Safe Ride before and felt safe, but this time I was unsure of my safety as the driver was swerving on major interstates (i.e. 85, 400). I had to warn the driver to brake as cars were merging, as they were slowing, and at intersections. I feel like for $50 I could have driven my car home safely. read more

I had a less-than-positive experience with Safe Ride last year, but it's my understanding that the driver from that time is no longer with the organization, so my review reflects my most recent experiences. In my experience, SafeRide is a great non-profit. While it's kind of pricey for a night out, it's worth it once in awhile. SafeRide costs about $10-$15 more than a cab ride, but sometimes it's worth the extra expense to have my car safe and sound the next day. The last two times I've used the service, the dispatcher has given me an ETA, and the driver has arrived on or before it. The drivers both times were courteous to me, and seemed to be safe drivers. I took SafeRide from the Ansley Mall area to East Atlanta Village, which cost me about $30 before tip. I was thankful to wake up safe and sound, and not have to find a ride back to my car. read more

I was paired with Paula and she made the time fly it was time to go home before I knew it. If you work during the day the you know the difficulties of finding time for community service, however, with saferide I could complete my hours right after work. Every time I've used SafeRide, I've been satisfied. Sure, I've used Uber, taxi cabs, etc., but there is nothing like having your car at with you the next day! I've left my car overnight when taking an uber and have had to pay to have a boot removed. Well worth the LESS money to pay for SafeRide than that boot and have a lot less stress! What's more? They're a non-profit making their business work with volunteers! These people truly care about people getting home safely! read more

A fairly straightforward service, SafeRide comes and picks up you and your drunk friend/partner/spouse/whatever and drives you and your vehicle back to your residence. A second vehicle follows and takes care of the returning the driver. It's comparable to the price of a cab AND your vehicle is at your residence the next morning. We used it recently on my birthday because we knew we would be drinking. They called and arrived on-time and got us home in one piece- something neither one of us wanted to risk after a night of celebrating. I would recommend SafeRide without hesitation. read more

I've used them a few times, it's more pricey than Uber but you have your car in the morning. On busy nights call ahead so you aren't waiting around but they always come as promised. They changed the rates and it's $2.25 per minute but the drivers waste no time getting you there and are always nice. Great service! read more

I have to give them one star for being unreliable and irresponsible. Even with a reservation and calling them to check on the driver's status . . . the driver never showed up or called us back. The operator never told us we should make alternate plans. We used them once before and had a great experience, but impaired driving is too serious for them to be unreliable. (How many people simply give up and drive home?!) It's a fantastic idea -- if the driver shows up. Don't count on SafeRide. read more

I was charged $63 for a 7 miles ride home!!!!! When my driver picked me up, my car was across the street and a couple of parking lots, they would not drive me to car, had to walk it in heels. They did not inform me that their fees have changed, apparently now they charge per minute instead of per mile. They started charging me from the time they arrived and charged me while I was walking to my car!! WTF!?!? I will NEVER use safe ride again!!!!! read more

This service makes unlicensed, seedy taxi cab drivers look like professional town car drivers at luxury 5 star hotels. They are incredibly unreliable and provide terrible customer service. I made a reservation a month in advance only to be notified via email that it was cancelled two hours before I needed them. Only a fool would use Saferide with uber available. It's like buying an outdated blackberry when you could have bought a new iPhone for cheaper. Never again. read more

Wasn't my first time using Safe Ride, but it was by far the worst experience I've had with them. It took them almost two hours to pick us up, and then had the never to question the tip amount. Terrible customer service... Literally called 10 times in a row before someone would answer. Waited on hold 5 minutes each call. I did community service with the organization and drove to cartersville from Atlanta to pick up a ride and make sure the customer got home safe. When I called I Could not get a ride from acworth to atlanta. Operator who answered was extremely rude. Was willing to pay and tip well for their service but guess they are too good for my money.
