This sums up my trip to the Vineland Flea Market. I came here on a Friday, approximately an hour after they opened, so it was not as if I was arriving while vendors were still setting up. The weather was fine, so that's no excuse for it being so desolate. There are many better flea markets in the area with a much better selection than what I saw. Frankly, a dollar store on its last day of a going-out-of-business sale has a better selection than what I saw here.

Also carrot cake very good but the icing was super sweet. Tasted fresh though. My personal favorite was the pecan sticky bun oh my goodness I'm still cleaning up the sticky sauce. The sweets are very sweet almost overly sweet. The American diet! I visited a hot bar and got some "boom boom" chicken. Only ok at first but was really good the next day ‍. A friend of mine got the turkey ring and was quite happy. Visited next door to the bazaar which was a mix of new items, used and plenty of knockoffs lol. I was derelict in my Yelping of this institution for far too long. I was here seeking out Amish cottage cheese which I haven't been able to get at the Trenton farmers market for many years. I knew it would be located in the Amish wing but I needed to walk the rest of the building too. I entered that section to find crowds of people everywhere. To view the prepared hot foods would have required standing in a long line just to eventually get close enough to peek at the cases. I found the cottage cheese prepackaged and decided to walk around the rest of the place before returning to make a few purchases. There were so many temptations in the Amish part, pretzels, prepared salad items, donuts, baked goods in general and of course the meats. The rest of Columbus has treasures to be found as well, depending on your outlook. Discount over the counter drugs, health and beauty,craft soda and pickles, clothes of all kinds, shoes, housewares. I could probably go on. Really something for everyone. My stroll took me past a chicken shop that once I caught the smell of its fried goods, I knew I'd be trying on my way back. At the far end where other food stalls are I saw a taqueria that I plan on trying next trip. With a bag full of fried goodness I was no longer concerned about the Amish foods. I grabbed the cottage cheese and walked out with just a bit of regret that I didn't snag a donut or a dozen. I popped into the produce building just to see what was there. Nice looking veggies but most were sold in bulk. Towards the end of this building is a seafood market that I've heard good things about. Now I have more reasons to return. 4.5 stars !

The highlight of the entire visit was the delicious pizza from the recently opened pizzeria, Slice. Two slices and a soda for $9 and some change, now THAT was a good deal! If you're looking for shea butter, oils, or knock-off perfumes, you'll have plenty of options because there are easily 10+ places selling them. And don't even get me started on the knives, swords, air-soft guns, and tasers! I really wish it hadn't been raining because we would have enjoyed spending some time outside. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans. And the smells in certain areas... WOW. There were definitely a few spots where I couldn't wait to get back outside and breathe some fresh air! Overall, after nearly a year, I was hoping to see something different, but it felt pretty much like the same experience. At least the pizza was worth the trip!

They have like outside swap meet things, but it looks like a bunch of junk to me. They even have a tire shop the Repairs tires there!!!! They have plenty of parking The prices are low to a pricey. They're only open I believe Thursday till Sunday. We also went for the hot apple cider. You can also get their fresh apple cider filled into a gallon or half gallon bottle. Their prices are reasonable. the woman in there was so nice and if you bring your own cup, they'll fill it with hot apple cider. they have apple cider donuts and turnovers. They'll be here until December. Since it was Sunday, the Amish stores weren't open. That's what I really came in there for. Overall it's ok here. I'll be back for the cider.

Over the years I've bought clocks, bookcases, Eastlake mirrors, and even the top of a Victorian pump organ that was later transformed into a range hood for my kitchen. The vibe is unpretentious and the deals are real. Be sure to let the older gentleman "Chief" assist you. He keeps a little notebook and if they don't have what you are looking for that day, he will call you when what you wanted finally shows up at the shop.
