I should have read the recent reviews but I didn't. I…read morecalled first thing on Monday morning and spoke with Skyler who was very pleasant on the phone. He suggested that I use their website to start service as he was waiting for toner to be delivered and therefore couldn't do the paperwork manually at that time. He advised me that after I completed the online process I would receive a response email from them the same day. I went online, completed the form, uploaded the required 2 forms of ID and I paid the $84 fee for seasonal service. After a few hours when I didn't receive the email he promised, I tried calling. The phone just went into a continuous loop or ringing, hold music and ringing again. I tried several times throughout the afternoon with no luck. I wondered if I had perhaps made a typo of my email address so I sent an email to Moon Mountain Mail inquiring about my account. I received no response to that email. On Tuesday I tried calling again several times with no luck and still no reply to to my email. On Wednesday, my husband and I drive 45 minutes to Quartzsite to see if we could get this service going. There was a man at the counter in front of us who had received notification that an expected package had been delivered. He had supplied the clerk with his box number. The clerk went to the box to check and came back to say that the package had not arrived. The man was rightly perplexed since he was looking at the tracking on his phone that said it was delivered. The clerk advised him that Moon Mountain accepts the truckload shipping which updates tracking for everything on the truck's manifest. He went on to say that it could take them 2 or 3 days to process those packages and the customer would need to check back in a few days. Since we run two small businesses, this delay in receiving shipments was concerning but I waited my turn. When it was my turn I explained why I was there. Skyler told me that it could take a few days for me to get a response to my email because he's out of toner (I didn't process that comment immediately). I asked if he could please get our account set up as we currently don't have a shipping address in AZ. He said we would need to come back later in the day. We went outside and discussed the fact that the facility is chaotic, the customers are disgruntled and the building doesn't even look set up for business. The door doesn't close, the cement stairs are deteriorating and then there was the comment that he couldn't process my email because he doesn't have any toner. We decided that perhaps we should just cancel the service before it even starts. So I went back in to let him know that I'd really rather just have my money back and never mind starting the service. I expected he would process that transaction for me, but he told me that I'd need to handle that with my bank. I didn't bother to tell him that I worked in the banking industry for 9 years and I know how this should work. I couldn't be bothered at this point. I do businesses with organizations that make customer service a priority. I told him I would do that and I did. This place is slipshod at best. I explained my situation to Bridgette, Kathy, and finally Terry. They gave me the runaround for days. They had run my PayPal debit card for a mailbox rental for two months unauthorized after I'd already left town for good. When I called in early May to make one last box extension (being month to month and had previously refused auto-renewal as I stood at the counter), I made it crystal clear not to run my card after May. They continued to run it for June and July, long after I'd left town. I couldn't have been more clear about requesting they not run my card after May since I was leaving sometime in May. I'd explained that I am a FT traveler and mostly off grid for weeks at a time. I do not have a bank account nor a steady mailing address. She "offered" to mail me a check for the refund even though I'd explained repeatedly my situation, that it wasn't feasible. ALL I asked is for her to credit back the same card she had used unauthorized for those two additional months. That simple. Note: The fact the she was "willing" to refund me via snail mail a check, knowing my situation wouldn't allow for that, she tried to weasel out of doing the right thing but making herself look like she's doing the right thing. Why wouldn't she just credit back the same card? "Policy" or not, she's the manager and has discretion to handle unique situations accordingly. She was extremely rude, haughty, accusing me of lying and threatening her(!), when I did nothing of the sort. I called her out with documented facts and remained calm the entire phone convo. Then she hung up on me. She is a miserable person and I wouldn't give them my business again if my life depended on it. Patronize this business at your own risk and loss! I lost over $50 to a shady business that I needed the funds for fuel and food, as I am on a very tight budget.

To our surprise, he immediately answered the phone-- when most businesses would have been closed for the evening. From the very first conversation, Lloyd was professional, personable, and eager to help. Within no time, he drove to our home, assessed the damage, and even installed a temporary mailbox so we wouldn't miss any mail. Since we were not able to be around when he came by he sent us pictures of the temporary mailbox setup, and even hauled the old mailbox away. Lloyd also assured us that he had a replacement mailbox in stock and could complete the installation Friday morning. Even more impressive--he refused to accept any payment until the work was completed and we were fully satisfied. True to his word, Lloyd and his wife Betty arrived early this morning. They worked quickly and efficiently, installing a beautiful new mailbox and leaving the area spotless, as if the accident had never happened. Their attention to detail and pride in their work were clear in every step. Betty and Lloyd are the kind of hardworking small-business owners that are rare to find these days. Their integrity, friendliness, and exceptional service speak volumes. If you need a new mailbox or a repair, do yourself a favor and make The Mailbox People your very first call. You will not be disappointed!
