DISAPPOINTED is an understatement. I had I plate full of rice with 2 extra small portions of chicken w/mixed veg. and half of that was onions. A rating of 1 is way to high. Needles to say, I will never waste my money here again. Ripping off your customers in a small town just doesn't seem like the right or smart thing to do.

My brother told me about this place, so I tried it this evening. It's located in the Food Lion shopping center at the corner of Hwy. 66 and Mountain View Rd. When we entered, we were greeted with a friendly smile and hello. My wife ordered the Hibachi Steak ($6.95) and I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken ($5.95) Both came with carrots, zucchini and onions. And the steak also had mushrooms, and the chicken had green peppers. Soup or salad is also included with the meal. Usually when I go to a Japanese restaurant like this (where they don't cook in front of you), I do not order steak. It's usually a bad cut of meat, and it's tough. But not this place, it was tender and good! The teriyaki chicken was also outstanding. Vegetables were cooked just right also. The rice had corn in it (love that!), and it tasted very good. The smells coming from the grill were so good. It reminded me of the fancy (expensive!) Japanese restaurants in Winston-Salem. They also have outdoor seating, and specials on certain days. Monday is free ice tea. Tuesday is a free spring roll. Saturday is 15% off 11am-3pm For this type of Japanese restaurant, it was the best I've ever had!

Been going to this place for the past 6 years. Limited seating inside, so during lunch and diner rush times it might be best to go around those busy times. They added some outside seating area, perfect time to enjoy the cooler temps around autumn. Always pleasant staff and they are quick to take orders and before you know it they are bring out your food. Teriyaki chicken is the best! They also have awesome white sauce. Perfect place for a nice lunch/dinner if you are going to or coming back from hanging rock state park.

    Honestly a scam.

Pathetic. Not worth time or money. Ordered teriyaki chicken.. received a pile of rice and skimpy chicken with no vegetables. Also tried calling several times couldn't get in touch with anyone and when I did couldn't get anyone to stay on the phone long enough to place my full order.

Really !? Extra veggies instead of rice ? This was the onions left after I ate the "few" zucchini and carrots

Great bathrooms and food! A bit more expensive than other place, but it's very much worth it.

Pretty good for the price. It does not have the best atmosphere but the prices are great and the food is good so no complaints here.

I'd suggest the hibachi steak, it is tender, juicy, and cooked to order.

This is not a high end place or even a place that specializes in sushi, but we thought we would give it a shot. It is clean on the inside of the restaurant and there is seating inside only. I ordered two basic rolls, while my wife ordered a roll and tempura veggies. I got my rolls in a few minutes and they weren't bad, again this is not high end, but it was decent. The cost at the time the visit was $7 per roll. My wife had to wait for her veggies and when it came out it was not tempura. The veggies were coated in cornmeal and deep fried. They were okay, but DEFINITELY NOT tempura. With the rolls being okay I did try the "tempura" but will pass on that in the future if we visit again.

My traditional spicy tuna roll for $7 was as good as any sushi restaurant I've been to. Place was clean and service was great and friendly. Now... I ordered tempura vegetable appetizer. Ummmmmm ..not tempura, it's just deep fried vegetables. You might as well get a side of ranch and dip it in. And it was very oily. So, not getting that again. I'll be back for the rolls and order other appetizers. Overall I'm glad I came here.

We were originally planning to hit up our usual AYCE spot in Greensboro but didn't want to deal with the wait, so we decided to try Kimono since it's closer to home. Big mistake. Let's start with the rolls - they're basically rice bombs with a hint of fish somewhere in there. If you're into eating mostly rice with your sushi, then jackpot! But if you're looking for that perfect rice-to-fish ratio and fresh, vibrant flavors that good sushi should have, keep driving. The quality is barely a step above what you'd grab from Harris Teeter's sushi counter, and I'm being generous here. The only saving grace was our server, who was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. But friendly service can't make up for mediocre food, especially when the bill hits $120 for three people. At that price point, you expect way better quality. Bottom line: Save your money and make the drive to a better spot. There are too many good sushi places in the Triad to settle for this. Your wallet (and taste buds) will thank you later.

The rolls were heavy on the rice, which overwhelmed the other flavors. Additionally, there was an off-putting funky taste that made the sushi comparable to what you'd find in a grocery store. On a positive note, the waiter was extremely nice and friendly, providing great service throughout the meal. While the ambiance and service were pleasant, the sushi itself did not live up to expectations. It gets one star for bad food and the extra star for the great service.

We decided to try it. I ordered Hibachi Chicken and Carolyn had Teriyaki Chicken. Both were served with fried rice, sweet carrots, and a mixture of squash, zucchini, onions, and broccoli. Portions were ample. The chicken (breast)was cooked perfectly. The flavor was a bit bland. Could have used a little salt, and more sauce. The rice had good flavor, but was a touch undercooked. We just prefer "sticky" rice. The carrots were soft and delicious. Just a little sweetness - just right. The mixed veggies were well cooked, a little al dente, but that's the way I like jt. Food was served on styrofoam plates, which is ok. Plastic forks, however, need to be larger and more sturdy. The place is new. Maybe the flavor will come in time. We might be back, but were disappointed the BBQ is gone.

My wife got the steak hibachi. Ditto. The chicken and the steak were very well cooked. The pan fried gyoza were good and the sauce had a bit of punch to it. There are a few reasons beyond the food that I won't likely be coming back. 1. Syrofoam plates and cups even for dine in. Wasteful. 2. Fox News playing on the TV. No thanks. 3. Christian radio playing over the speakers. Don't need it. I understand they are trying to fit in with bright red Mocksville and can't fault them for that. It's just not for me.
