This is not a high end place or even a place that specializes in sushi, but we thought we would give it a shot. It is clean on the inside of the restaurant and there is seating inside only. I ordered two basic rolls, while my wife ordered a roll and tempura veggies. I got my rolls in a few minutes and they weren't bad, again this is not high end, but it was decent. The cost at the time the visit was $7 per roll. My wife had to wait for her veggies and when it came out it was not tempura. The veggies were coated in cornmeal and deep fried. They were okay, but DEFINITELY NOT tempura. With the rolls being okay I did try the "tempura" but will pass on that in the future if we visit again.

Hanes Mill Rd, this gem is housed in the same spot where the Hwy 55 burger joint was (I sure miss them). Parking is shared with other area merchants, and since it's quite a distance from Walmart's entrance, finding a space is not a problem. The restaurant is well-lit, comfortable and clean. We were promptly greeted and shown to a table. The menu had a great selection of ramen, bento, and sushi. While I was leaning towards sushi, I opted for the chicken katsu bento. The food came out quickly and I was pleasantly surprised at the portion size. Definitely a good value in my opinion. The only disappointment was their take on fried rice, which seemed more like a dirty rice you would get at Popeye's. Honestly, I think white rice would have been a better pairing for this dish. Great service throughout our visit and we're keeping this one on the short list.

We were promptly greeted upon entering and shown to our table. The restaurant was about 75% full of other patrons and the dining room was clean and comfortable. Along with regular tables, there was limited seating at the sushi bar. As we began looking over the menu, our server made us aware of the lunch specials on the back page, which was greatly appreciated. I went with the Teriyaki Beef and my wife had the Hibachi Chicken. I chose the side salad with the house ginger dressing and my wife had the miso soup. Both of us went with white rice. Our sides came out pretty quick, and once we finished our sides, our entrees came out like clockwork. The Teriyaki Beef with accompanying vegetables tasted great, but I felt the portion size of both could have been larger. Still, it was a good value. Now, the portion size of the Hibachi Chicken with vegetables was much better, and it may be my choice next time. I want to mention that the sushi I saw being delivered to other tables looked pretty amazing, so the Hibachi Chicken may have to wait. Service was excellent throughout our visit. The only suggestion would be some soft background authentic Japanese music to add to the experience.

We were originally planning to hit up our usual AYCE spot in Greensboro but didn't want to deal with the wait, so we decided to try Kimono since it's closer to home. Big mistake. Let's start with the rolls - they're basically rice bombs with a hint of fish somewhere in there. If you're into eating mostly rice with your sushi, then jackpot! But if you're looking for that perfect rice-to-fish ratio and fresh, vibrant flavors that good sushi should have, keep driving. The quality is barely a step above what you'd grab from Harris Teeter's sushi counter, and I'm being generous here. The only saving grace was our server, who was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. But friendly service can't make up for mediocre food, especially when the bill hits $120 for three people. At that price point, you expect way better quality. Bottom line: Save your money and make the drive to a better spot. There are too many good sushi places in the Triad to settle for this. Your wallet (and taste buds) will thank you later.

The rolls were heavy on the rice, which overwhelmed the other flavors. Additionally, there was an off-putting funky taste that made the sushi comparable to what you'd find in a grocery store. While the ambiance and service were pleasant, the sushi itself did not live up to expectations. It gets one star for bad food and the extra star for the great service.

We decided to try it. I ordered Hibachi Chicken and Carolyn had Teriyaki Chicken. Both were served with fried rice, sweet carrots, and a mixture of squash, zucchini, onions, and broccoli. Portions were ample. The chicken (breast)was cooked perfectly. The flavor was a bit bland. Could have used a little salt, and more sauce. The rice had good flavor, but was a touch undercooked. We just prefer "sticky" rice. The carrots were soft and delicious. Just a little sweetness - just right. The mixed veggies were well cooked, a little al dente, but that's the way I like jt. Food was served on styrofoam plates, which is ok. Plastic forks, however, need to be larger and more sturdy. The place is new. Maybe the flavor will come in time. We might be back, but were disappointed the BBQ is gone.
