What would seem to be additionally problematical is there are personnel available in the bank, however they sit in cubicle areas, and seemingly try not to look up to see people waiting.

I decided to contact the Monroe branch and spoke to Diego H. at that branch and he made an appt. with me, I met with him the next day and with 30 minutes he had my account re-opened, all set and was fantastic. He knew exactly what I needed, how to proceed, and had me out of there in 40 minutes (we chatted or I could have been done in 30 minutes). I was pleasantly surprised after being told by a banker at the other branch that the process would take two hours and to come back even though I had an appt there. He said he was really busy LOL. Diego was the best and I highly recommend the Monroe branch. The other two tellers there were also fantastic and very helpful.

Opened business account. 1/opening acct took over an hour 2/checks printed wrong 3/online access…read morewas set up wrong 4/business account eft transfers have a $5k limit (because what business spends more than $5k on vendor purchases) AND eft transfers take 4 DAYS! I could literally write a paper check, mail it and it would be received on the other side of the country faster than this bank can send wire money on the interweb... This will teach me to use a bank. It's been around 6 weeks and every few days I learn of a new obstacle. When one issue is resolved they start on a new one. Last week they made me increase the insurance coverage on my home. This week they say there is some real estate expert who needs to do something or other. They estimate this will take 2 days or up to one week. I deposit a check and get told the first time it might take 1 to 4 days to clear. Four is long, but OK, Maybe they need to establish a pattern for my deposits. I deposit a second check and now it will take SIX days according to their chat! We're in the age of everything instant and a bank wants to take SIX DAYS to clear a $250 check. Unbelievable. I called Coastal and they say it is not them doing the banking. Really? "Bank account services provided by Coastal Community Bank, Member FDIC." If it isn't, then management is completely incompetent and should NOT be running a bank, period.

So I was told today by the "manager" that I have to close my account and open a whole new account…read morerather than a simple name being removed from my account. A name mind you that I went into said branch and added to my account less than a year ago. I am then told that the bank will not process a refund nor replace the box of checks that I paid for when I first opened the account many years ago. They will not provide me with checks for the new account that they are forcing me to open because they are forcing me to close my account of many years. I then reiterated the points that the bank is going to force me to close my current account and force me to open an entirely new account because they will not just simply remove a name from my account. And the bank will not issue a new box of check nor reimburse me for the checks that I was already charged for and paid for. Rather they will give me 4 temporary counter checks with my name printed on them for the new account they are forcing me to open. The "manager" then scoffs at me over the phone and says to me "However you want to look at it" I said I am not looking at this anyway... I simply reiterated your exact words and term you presented to me. She again scoffed at me said. "We are not forcing you to do anything" I said well great then you'll be removing the name from my account and that will fix this whole issue and take care of the problem? She scoffed once more and said "NO" noticeably irritated and said "I already told you, you have to close your current account and open a new account." So I once more said then you indeed are forcing me to close my current account and forcing me to open up a new account. She says "However you want to look at it" I then said then you tell me how I should look at it other than the exact way you have presented it to me. She had nothing further to say.

I was excited for there to be a local BECU branch in Monroe! I went in tonight to withdraw small…read morebills, but learned the hard way they don't offer teller services. The closest BECU branch with a teller is in Everett or Tukwila. This is such a basic banking service, I was surprised and disappointed to learn it's not offered here, hence the low review. The staff were super friendly and kind - so nothing against the staff working there. A convenient location for other services. There is parking at the hospital or around the corner from the BECU location.
